Not technically my project but mine to see if I can fix. This is my daughter 1988 YJ wrangler with a 1995 engine. They are going to movie back to Oklahoma from Colorado next year and need to get it out of there garage for the sale of there house. The problem is that it won't start with the key but you can jump the starter to get it going. The son inlaw has been firing the part canno at it for several months but hasn't gotten it to work. Now it is on dad to see if I can get it to start with the key. My son inlaw isn't that good at electrical stuff and some of the wiring is getting hot on the stuff he has put in so most likely pull all that out and start over. auto or manual? could be a neutral safety switch or ignition relay

Manual. He has replaced the ignition switch, lock cylinder, starter with solenoid and starter relay. Unless one of the new parts was bad also I'm thinking wiring or ECM

Sorry not mine to sell. When she was little we had a 74 K5 Blazer I think she maybe trying to relive her childhood. I chased wires today and found that starter relay isn't getting a ground from the ECM so I installed a ground wire on the relay and it starts like a champ. Now to chase a few other wiring issues

I goofed. Thought it was a '95. I guess they didn't have one in '88.

Well searched anyway. How dare the government remove a known safety device someone may get killed if you start a vehicle in gear. Are you going back to the good old days and allowing people to clean the gene pool LOL

Spent sometime this afternoon and started working over the wiring harness. Someone has hacked it up bad, bare wires and just nasty splice jobs. I'm cutting out the bad areas, soldering the wires back and heat shrinking them. Didn't think you all needed pictures of that but I can take some if you want. This will be a project!

Per the boss's request or was that an order.
They wanted to replace the dash/gages so they switched it to this.
So I do not like crimp on connectors so I have tined and soldiered the wires with heat shrink over them. But on that gage I got ahead of myself and all the connections are in one place so I will need to correct that before it is all put together.
I have repaired a bunch of hack wiring on this already but here are some of the wires I found behind the fuse block with no tap or any kind of insulation on them. I guess it could have come off with age but don't know for sure if there was anything or not.
And I just hate crimp connectors so want to replace these but unless I can get the pin out of the connector I may not be able to do any thing with these 2
With this being a off road toy taking out un used systems. Cutting the wires back to the fuse block but leaving enought wires if they change their mind. I’ve found that you can get most of the factory connectors terminals tools and such froM places like Mouser or Digikey.
On a lot of the gm stuff and even some Mercedes’ stuff if you look real hard you can find a reference or part number on the housing
