new site near Shelton Wa.
« on: June 13, 2020, 05:11:14 PM »
Put some money down on a new place, away from the hustle and bustle of urban lifestyle. Has 800 ft of driveway beyond  gated area to home, and about a mile of unmaintained county road up to the gate. On an Island, but does have a bridge so don't have to wait on ferry. About 1/2 drive drive to anywhere. Just got so tired of all the stuff going on in the Seattle area. Can put up a couple trail cams and feel a lot safer than where we are at now.  Has view of water, area to build a nice shop, and the neighbor is my kind of guy. Never thought I would have a Shelton address but times are a changing .

Not sure Nate which is worse. Right now the crowds in Seattle are taking over the streets and the courts appear to be behind them.

Kinda like Camano. funny how we have the highest per capita of retired CIA, DOH, FBI etc. on the island and also have some of the lowest political BS to contend with. hmm... Good for you Bob. I expect you to gas up that boat and head my way soon. you can stop off and overnight at the Everett Marina.

Well the home inspection went good, some staining from roof leaking so I need to get a roofer to look at that. If it needs a new roof I hope the owner is willing to split the cost.
Just need to figure that out and finish the loan stuff up. Not too bad of loan, 3.2 percent for 30 years. I will never see that day. No early pay off penalty, so if I win the loto we can pay it off with no early pay off penalty.
Need to thin out some trees to see the water but that should be easy. Early Saturday morning job, by the time neighbors across the water find someone to stop work me the job should be done.

3.2% is nice, we were able to get 4 a year ago and were excited.

But as Ken stated we need pics.

No excuses for no photos, but each time I have been down there it has been gray dark skies leaking moisture. Except for the clearing for the home it is old second growth trees with ferns growing under them. That and no phone along to take any photos.

We’re close to closing on 40 acres down well south of Seattle too, close to my parents, for all the same reasons.

Congrats on the purchase. I love it out there on the peninsula.

Down west of Chehalis. That’s where I was born and raised. Will be a quarter mile from my Grandpa.

I spent a lot of time in Grays harbor area years ago. Grandma lived in Montesano, Aunt lived out on the beach.
Used to hunt between Elma and Raymond. Only downside is lots of wind and rain. Lots of very large farmland valleys. Great people in a great area as remote as you want to be.

Finally got a firm closing date which is next Friday. Every time I think we are close to closing something else pops up. Have to change moving date nothing open till first of next month. I will start hauling garage stuff over even though I won’t have a garage to move into. The dump trailer is ready to take to the dump. So much junk piles up in 35 years.

Well we are just about done with the moving. Couple more trips to finish up the random stuff.  Takes an hour each way driving time. Two trips a day is all we can do. Had to clean two homes and pack up 35 years of stuff.
Well worth it as the new place is so quite with a view of the water and Olympic Mts. Need to pick a spot for the garage and figure out what to have built.

A Liberty National security classic plus. Left the other one in old home. Which by the way has a firm offer in place. Now I can start a detached garage deal.
