I looked into doing one of these a while back, after I had hands on the P80 AR lowers. The problem I found with the Glock 80s is that when it’s all said and done your in it for more than a new one. But I also did not look EVERYWHERE nor for used components.
Obviously building one from an 80 is aiming for a different purpose than buying one from the store, but thought it was worth the mention of the price.
As far as quality of the AR lowers, if you watch for a sale at Midway, I’d say they are absolutely worth the price. Took a hammer to one after it became an oops. There tough I’ll say that, but will of course fail to increasing force of the blows.

Cost is worth mentioning, I have quite a few stock G parts in my spare parts box from upgrades I’ve done over the years and not throwing anything away.

I don’t think cost is the issue, and I’ll just leave it at that.

From the video it looks like the milling isn’t even required, you could cut it with a razor knife and a file to clean it up. But I would fall into the category of needing to source all the other parts
