Parenting / Re: A dad's reality check« on: December 20, 2016, 11:20:30 AM »Well, the oldest is now 13 and the youngest just turned 11. I gave my oldest a phone when she turned 12. When I gave it to her, I told her that what I was handing her was as dangerous as one of my pistols. It had the power to ruin her life and that nothing she does or says on that phone should be considered private. I've disabled everything other than calls and texts, but still that's enough to get her in trouble. In a school near here Sexting is the big trap the girls fall into. It happened with one of my girls. Went to church with the other family. So we nipped it in the bud like immediately. Saved both of them. But another friend's daughter got all caught up in it as well. He is strong enough to handle it, and has had success getting her back on track Phones, computers, texting, skyping, gaming...all of that has potential pitfalls. Bring them up in the ways of the Lord and they will come home to what they know and have been taught. 19754

D.O.T. / Re: Re-Appearing DOT...DANGER CLOSE!« on: December 20, 2016, 10:07:12 AM »Whoops...finally re-appeared here, at Campbell now as a staff puke S-6.You wouldn't believe how many majors and LTC's who used to tell me the same thing. Some actually did. Nasty guard is easier to do that. So many of the warrants there used to be Captains. Gotta tell ya, in the majority of the Army today (Not so much in spec ops) it is hard to stay near the troops, which is the reason real leaders want to serve. Staff what? No, give me an objective and I'll move out smartly I didn't opt for W5 for that reason. I had finagled a Company SIP position as a senior W4. I should have been beyond Battalion, likely up in brigade somewhere, but I was still leading assaults in my last days. But the CW5 promotion was coming with a move to Rucker to the Chinook SIP for the entire US Army. That's a desk which I'd never leave. I opted out... Then God smiled on me. Flew commercial airliners for a spell (Boring) but when the wars started, why they needed experienced combat pilots once again, and guess what??? That's my story. I could have been a Colonel, but getting there with all the politics and staff jobs, no thanks senor' I wanted troop time and trigger time, and an opportunity to populate hell with the enemies of this nation, and, well, let's just say I had a good run of it... Troop time my friend...Or contact me privately someday... 19759

I found this from the Chevy site.
Seems unclear if the oil burner gets the two extra gears...?? Off-Road Mode Technology allows you to seamlessly pick between Desert, Mud or Mountains. Plus, the Colorado ZR2 offers a brand new advanced 3.6L V6 engine with eight-speed transmission, in addition to the segment-exclusive Duramax® 2.8L Turbo-Diesel.† No matter what road you take, the brand new Colorado ZR2 will get you there. 19765

Now, I drove the VW 3.0 Turbo Diesel with 405 ft/lbs. That little dude which is similiar in weight (AWD) as this midi truck would fly. I mean it was surprisingly quick. on ramps were fun again. I'd say it might give my C-Max with 1000+ ft/lbs a run for the money
Translation: This little truck that could be is going to be pretty sporty. 19766

10 second search found this:
2.8L Duramax Colorado Canyon Tuning w /License +50HP and 80Ft-lbs w/Tuning only 4-position Switchable on-the-fly! Durmaxtuner.com has wasted no time ramping up with our new 2.8L Duramax options! The 2.8L Duramax in its factory trim is rated at 180 HP by GM and carries a full compliment of emissions equipment to keep it clean and quiet. Backing up the new powerplant is the 6L50 transmission. Both the engine and transmission use existing powertrain control modules which have allowed the team at Duramaxtuner.com to quickly gain access and make improvements. Over the past several months, we've worked with our customers and in-house on our truck to develop and test tuning for this platform. After hundreds of revisions, we're happy to have a product that significantly outperforms GM's calibration in power, driveability and mileage. By working through the engine and transmission calibrations together we significantly widened and raised the factory torque curve, settling on a peak of 460Ft-Lbs which is very near the rated capacity of the transmission. With the wider torque curve, we're able to shift the truck sooner, and engage torque converter lockup sooner without bogging the truck. This means less operating RPM and ultimately lower fuel consumption numbers. Best of all, these calibrations work without any other modifications to the truck, meaning that you still get a quiet, clean, smokeless truck that can be returned to stock at any point. 19768

Yea, this is gonna be a little sleeper.
Like all diesels, a tune won't be 12 extra horsepower. No, more like +50HP and +150 torque The tunes are already flying for this truck. I think they are in the 500-600 torque already on a pretty sane tune with better fuel economy as well 19769

Well with the special day fast approaching and me being tired of getting yelled at for failing at getting the right thing for little girls, I might have it finally.
Our gifts will feed them, provide bedding, plant a spiritual seed, allow the little ladies to shop in two different stores, provide some fun artsy crafts to paint and color, and pay a bit of their dad's January rent. Here it is before I get to wrapping this stuff up 19795
