Good for you Tex. Being in a few disaster areas like that I can attest to the the fact that drinking water is key. I’m a little bummed you decided to keep that truck but glad to see you’re putting it to good use.

I’ll never be able to figure out what all that nonsense with the squatting is. I’ve joked several times I’m gonna start the slant life fad and just lift one side of the truck.

Or maybe you just don’t ever put any weight in a trailer lol.

I’ll tell ya there is no way I can load my 20ft enclosed with cabinets and not squat my truck,  if I use all of the space for boxes it still sags my truck three or so inches.   Maybe someone took out my spring pack and put half ton springs in. Who knows

I guess I could leave the front 10 feet empty and use it to put stuffed animals in or something.  And use the back half.

Driving through Alto Texas was unreal.  There was about 150 yard wide swath of destruction that was hard to describe.  I'll try to upload the video I took to Youtube and post the link.

In driving the path of destrution, it became clear that the tornado was just starting to form when it hit our place and then picked up steam 5 miles away and then maxed out in Alto about 8 miles away.

I am grateful to the Lord that we were spared, and i hope that I would still have faith to praise him if I was wiped out and my family taken from me, like Job.

At 37 seconds you can start to see the caddo mounds recreation building.  30 people in it were hurt.

For what setting Dave? Natural if it's in a log cabin, bottom right for a modern city feel, top right if it's a normal person, and turquoise if it's someone in Denver.

She likes the varathane dark walnut.   I would like the natural with a glaze on it, I have a version of the cafe in my personal home and wouldn’t do it again

That could be a lot worse Bob. Bad still but maybe add a steel bumper for the next time?

Bob, sorry to hear about the bumper.  I guess the silver lining is its a remove and replace piece, no bodywork to speak of.

And Dave, I think the answer depends on the amount of wood exposed and the type of house.  I like the natural but too much of it is tough to take.  Probably the upper right for a happy medium.

Anyone have to deal with an employee that just keeps breaking stuff? We have one hired man that is just so hard on stuff. He has trashed the pickup we gave him to drive. He is so paranoid that he is going mess something up that mess stuff up. In one day just hauling some trees that were pulled out of the fence line he managed to rip the filler neck out of the def tank, broke 2 hub caps, lost a mud flap and messed up 2 trailer lights. On a 2015 Kenworth. The list of machinery he is grounded form is growing. He better remove head from rear end or be looking for a new job.

Like we don't have people here on this site that are HARD on stuff!  Body Parts, Tractors, Chainsaws, Submersible Mowers, 4x4 Trucks loaned to little girls to drive.......the list is long and distinguished AND growing!

Found a new BBQ joint I have to try in town, we’ll around town. There is a local BbQ company that is a food trailer. They apparently started selling t-shirts that say:
I support LGBTQ
Liberty
Guns
Bible
Trump
BBQ

Unremarkably, they are getting threats from the tolerant left.

Buy a Volvo he (me) says, they make good hoes, he says....urrrrr
I've fixed a few hydro cylinders over the years, but never had one like this.
For starters, I had to use a 3' pipe wrench with a 4' cheater just to get the top cap loose, while it was still mounted on the hoe. This is a mini hoe.... little bitty cylinders...

Most rams have a nut that holds the piston on to the shaft.. nope, not this one.. the whole piston screws on, then staked in place. I had to drill 4 holes on the face to except a D60 spindle socket after breaking my air chisel, and my patience. Then it took a torch (loctited), a 3/4 breaker, and a jack handle to break this @#&#@&$$#@$__ loose.
Man I'm wore out. Rant over.

Very proud of our cub scout pack. Once a year we volunteer at the local food bank. Our scouts collected enough food for each family that came though to get 45 items.

Pictured is the trailer full of supplies they collected and delivered a few weeks ago to flood victims. My boy is all the way to the right in the blue shirt.
Father, husband, farmer, trucker, mechanic, equipment operator, ect

Woke up at 0515, fell asleep at 1645 yesterday afternoon. Apparently all the hours I've been working and lack of sleep finally caught up with me.
So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!

I had time to trim up the ugly Russian olive trees on my propertyline.  Decided I could burn the limbs easy enough

Kept the fire small and feed the branches in slow.
Than had a bunch of friends over for a bbq,

Lots of opinions on Boy Scouts, but you can not argue they do good work. You both and all other parents can hold your heads high.

Yep, lots has changed with the upper leadership going PC. Loosing lots of sponsors because of it, boys not joining or dropping out.

Boys are boys, girls are girls.
