Nate, that is the same one I have out back!!

Looking for a bucket I came across this;

https://sacramento.craigslist.org/grd/d/lincoln-skid-steer-new-holland-lx-865/7018722460.html

Just for an investment I would buy it, but I am 2 hours late to a 3 hour post. #2 in line, hope it falls through.

Baylee joined me at the shop today. With her only going every other day her senior year she’s been hanging out with Dad once a week lately. Pretty capable for a seventeen year old girl, pretty proud of her if you can’t tell.

She started today helping me reorganize a rack in the loft. Then decided her and her sisters rifles needed field stripped and cleaned. I worked on some customer parts and then my 60 for the excursion in prep for parts arriving from Tate tomorrow.

Mid day (sunny and 60) we shipped out some orders. On the way to the post office we made a slight detour to the local salvage yard couple miles from my shop. We quickly located an 2001 explorer with 8.8 rear axle that had been involved in a front end collision. After checking door jam we verified it had the trak lok limited slip in it. A bit of negotiating with a couple of the yard hands and we had settled on a fair price with us pulling it ourselves. Ran back to shop for tools and within an hour and a half the 8.8 was in the back of the excursion. Sure helps having a second set of hands!

Replaced the hood latch on the Jeep, then proceeded to work on replacing the thermostat/housing group. Got the old on out no problems, went to install the new one and my weight shifted thanks to balancing on some ice and cracked the housing, threw the old one back in drove to the dealership. Dealership actually had the part and coolant in stock, bought it and got a price reduction, then successfully replaced the thermostat, added coolant drove around and made sure it all worked. Just finished balancing the checkbook and made another cup of coffee... vacation is hard.

Made it out to the cabin by skidoo.
Winter officially is here.

Saw some caribou out on the lake too.
Wrong area so they were eye candy instead of candy.

Today we took family photos with a photographer in the park.  Teens looked like they’d rather be getting dental work.

Then I rigged up a pump and hose and bucket and flushed the heat exchanger on the tankless water heater with CLR.

Hasn’t been done, ever.  And its nearly 11 years old.  That neon green CLR was looking brown by the time I was done.  I hooked the pump up and let it circulate for 1-1/2 hours and then flushed with clean water.  That ought to help the efficiency for sure.

When it gets really cold outside (relatively for Houston anyway) sometimes it wont stay lit and I cant get hot water.  Seems like its only when its in the 30s or colder.  I thought I would start with a good flush to see if that helps before I start reading schematics and checking WC on the gas supply.

Then after bible study, I installed the first reconditioned lantern.  Man does it look good.  Makes me motivated to get after the second one now.

I also hung as new cast metal street number plaque, but I haven’t taken a picture yet.  Had to use the diamond cup wheel to flatten the limestone and it turned our really well.

Then I finally got the overspray off the glass on the door I refinished a few weeks ago.

Lastly I bucket washed the truck since its not supposed to rain this week.

Wife went to the other house this afternoon to clean leaves out of the pool and the new pool leaf scooper was a big hit.  I’ll cover it after TG since the family is coming up to the hide for TG

Ordered a 24 ft extension wand for the pressure washer.  It’s time to pressure wash and then I have to get after refinishing the other 9 doors.....

Spring time well get the exterior painted.  I’m going to hire that one out even though I have the commercial airless sprayer.  Just don’t feel like getting up and down the ladder than many times on this big two story.

The bigger issue is going to be selecting paint colors.  Probably wont wander too far from what it is today but I want some thing slightly different since its been 11 years of the same color.

Originally I purchased the small blower with a much smaller driveway, 18th of the size of current.  The big blower came by way of a smokin deal for a low hour senior owner.  $300+a service I think put me about $500.

I still use the little blower most days because that thing is lite and fast!!

Yep, I don’t miss any of that. Which is maybe a little unfortunate because all of my family lives in Wyoming with no intent of moving. So we will probably never live close to them again.

My brother and I are going to spend the day at the community collage. We decided to take a crop scouting class. It cost us $12,000 every year to pay an agronomist to do it for us. They always send some kid straight out of school to do it anyway. We thought it was a package deal with the field grid sampling and the other services they provide. But its a separate charge.

Ive been to enough informational meetings and other classes over the years I pretty much know what to look for. However there are a few new weeds and diseases in the area that I am not familiar with. So we are going to see how this works out.

A basic version of what jon is talking about is...

They have paid somebody to go out in their fields and look at their crops and tell them if their crops are healthy or not, if their pesticides are working or not, etc.

But being a farmer and already knowing their land, they figured they would pay less on certifying themselves to do it instead of paying somebody else to do it.

Did my part to clean up the environment, picked this up out of the middle of the road on the way home.
And brought a few bales of hay home from the neighbor’s barn for the horses...yes, he knows.

Went to the Polaris dealer to look at a couple used 4 wheelers for the boys. Ended up buying a brand new Hammerhead go-cart. Its a made in china product but owned by Polaris. They have their name all over it. Even has a Polaris title.

Anyway if I understood him correctly this thing basically has a Honda engine on it. Honda let the patent expire on this particular engine. So Polaris scooped up the go cart manufacturer and started building the old Honda engine to put in it.

Did my part to clean up the environment, picked this up out of the middle of the road on the way home.
And brought a few bales of hay home from the neighbor’s barn for the horses...yes, he knows.

Dave, that looks like your garage.... if so get a cat to live in there, I don’t think I’ve seen a feed pile without mice living in it.

Yep, that’s in the garage. The cats spend a good bit of time out there.  There were mice before the hay, I just wanted to give them a comfy place to hide for the early winter.

Hahaha, very nice of you. I see a mouse in the garage out comes the bags of decon cubes!

It shouldn't be to bad if it is good clean hay.  Straw on the other hand is a haven for rodents.
