Chief, round last I had was a joke.
I would have passed it as my spring allergies.

Glad you’re on the mend.

Jon, that’s just a wee flesh wound. He’ll get over it.
Charles, looks like the mag fairy showed up.

Ken, it’s just a tree. Cut it down and enjoy the fire it provides.
One day you’ll embrace it.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

I went down for almost two weeks, lots a decent amount of weight, fever of 101 after medication, cough, sore throat, body aches. About half way into it the wife caught the same thing and we both went in on a Sunday to a insta care, as in Utah they usually are far less crowded, we both got checked for Vid and strep.  Came beck negative on both accounts.  Dr said there has been some simply roughy viruses running the course the last few weeks.  It will pass.

I’m good to go now but boy I was a grumpy ol bastard at work and home for a min

All the trees!!!

I guess the jobsite I dropped it off at has more rocks in the road.  They decided to smash the rocks instead of digging them up?
I honestly didn’t see much as far as trees but who know

I plan to rent one of those Dave.

Gonna harvest some pine and then use the mulcher to clear a path and take care of stumps.

Have the Bus torn down for a complete AC repair. Also ordered a new cold air intake to replace the AFE unit.  Probably going to get the Mishimoto trans cooler kit as well.

And put some ribs on. Brisket goes on at 9 pm

Picked up a new to me 2018 F250 Lariat Super Cab long bed today. Has the 6.7L with tow package upgrades and about 500 miles short of 15k on odometer.

Taking it to get a b&w gooseneck installed tomorrow since the local hitch place had an opening.

I think a female owned this, I would have said old guy but didn’t want to offend anyone here. Does not look like it’s ever towed anything and hardly ever been driven. Has the upgraded rear 2.5” receiver hitch installed factory and 10k payload upgrade.

First thing I did was pickup steel in it, would you expect anything less? I mean I’m sure Ken would have taken h for a ride but I’m not a fan of her…..

Congrats Shawn!

I purchased something today as well

Looking ahead, and wanting to have options, I placed my order for a Tesla Model 3 performance in Blue

I'll post up a thread on this in a litle bit.

Duane purchased a new Model3 performance which I have been using to learn from. There is a rough equavilent of this EV and a gas powered vehicle. From what we can calculate it roughly equates to a car that gets 100-120 mpg and has no oil changes or really any maintenance.

Driving his, I noticed you really don't use the brakes. When you let off the pedal, the drive motors become two generators that slow the vehicle. The ride is beyond anything I have experienced. The stereo is simply the very best I have ever enjoyed anywhere. The autopilot worked flawlessly as the car drove us around town with only an occasional touch to the steering wheel to let the car know we were conscious.

Now, I will say I have been in many hopped-up cars, jets, and airplanes. But I had never experienced the raw acceleration that that car has. There is simply nothing in the world to compare it to. I believe it could break your neck if you nailed it and weren't prepared. It is visceral and you just have to experience it to believe it. Some superbike pulled up alongside and we raced it today. It disappeared behind us in a flash as I was trying to pull my head, my sideways head off the headrest.

The car is so customizable that you can even have it make a little fart sound beneath any passenger seat you choose. You can watch NetFlix while it drives you. Duane keeps his battery charged to 85% and that gave us a 270-mile range. He ripped off a bunch of 3 sec 0-60 shots and it barely lowered our range by 20 miles. We did a traffic circle at what seemed like 60 and it nibbled at sliding but it didn't. Traction control is so good that you can floor it in a turn and all that happens is that your soul gets ripped out of your body and tossed out the side.

Anyway, the brakes almost never need servicing, and there is no real garage to speak of, so you're looking at a near-zero maintenance vehicle that will only wear out its Michelin Pilot P2 tires and nothing else.

So how do your do a “oil change” on it when there’s no oil to change?  Can you recalibrate it for 37” tires to match the rest of the fleet?

Speaking of the rest of the fleet, I'll be moth-balling and retiring the Suburban, at least for the near term.
Just too costly to operate regardless of how much fun it is to drive. When fuel comes back down to $2 a gallon, I'll resurrect it

Lol, this is short compared to the f350 crew cab long bed 6.0L my wife used to drive when she was going thru nursing school.

Dave, yes super clean. Honestly think an old man had it.

Charles, definitely didn’t want a short bed.

Dropped the truck off at Lampert Hitch in Arvada Co a little before 8 am. They called right at 11 am saying truck was ready for pickup. B&W flip over gooseneck ball installed and bed mounted trailer plug. $1232.00 out the door.

Had to bury the dog last night. She got out of the yard and ran into the street and got hit by a car. The wife hadn't cried like that since we got Brett's notification. Crazy how those pets become family. They sure named them right when they called them companion animals.

Absolutely nothing wrong with buying what you want. I just hope you haven’t fallen into the trap set by the Dems that are saying it is a winner for stopping global warming. Things I worry about are keeping me from jumping. May we never loose power because the cars that need it to operate have first position. And being cheaper to operate, I am sure that won’t be the case.

I don't think the Dems and Tesla are on the same sheet of music. Democrats hate Tesla and Elon. He does not use unionized labor to build his cars, and he does not donate huge sums of money to democratic campaigns. He has, however, said he would finance a 2024 Ron Desantis presidential run. Tesla is the electric car of the conservative patriots, not the progressives.
This is the first new car I have been excited about in decades. It is so fresh and new. It is much more than a car. Think about it. You could simply let the car drive you some long boring highway drive, then pull off into a rest stop, turn on some soft music and leave the AC on, pull over a blanket, recline all the way, and get a night's comfortable sleep. No other car does that. I can drive from Kentucky to Seattle for almost no cost. No fuel at all, and recharging at a tenth the cost of gas. That's a whole new thing.

His family is having a bbq tomorrow so I came up with this to make it more bearable.  Roughly 40,000 cfm of moist air. Hope it helps.

If there is a charging station.
Tesla has 30,000 supercharge stations worldwide. The bulk of them in The US, Britian, and China
In addition to those, there are thousands of "Normal" EV stations which charge slower and less efficiently.
A supercharge station will charge about 200 miles in around 20 min. I plan to charge to around 85% which will take 7-8 hours at home or an hour or less at a supercharge station.
For my trip, I already looked at it. The first place is right beside a diner with fried chicken (Lunch). The second is next to a plaza that has a Starbucks, a grocery store and some other venues. For the third station, if I use it, I plan to just take a nap with the AC on while the car charges, so, yea, its very, very doable

Download the Tesla app and enter a origin and a destination and in two seconds the route is planned around supercharging stations and you have an itinerary, time estimates, even the amount of time you will be parked and charging, so you can plan for a diner or lunch or some shopping

The planning really isn’t any different as far as towing a large rv trailer, still have to plan your stops with stations in mind that will fit your rv and truck

That said majority of the Tesla stations in my area have garbage bags over them for some reason or another

Not so much when you have 96 gallons of diesel on board….

Went to grandmas house and watched the air show from behind her house.  Grandmas home is right on the landing path for Hill Airfoce Base.
Warriors over the Wasatch is what they have called it year after year and it’s been a few years

They had so many people go to the base they actually shut the gates!!! They closed entrances because of capacity.

We had a pretty decent view with a nice restroom, canopy for shade and wind blowing up the valley.

Of course being a kid to used to wave at pilots of F-16 or flip them off among many other highly questionable things.  They used to flip us off or wave back as we played in the fields.   Anyway I love the thunderbirds and the blue angles and always will!   Love me some cold hard American military Badassery!

The planes did fly much more close over head but to be honest I’d rather look from my eyes at cool stuff then through a screen for a photo.

Started this morning at HD buying 15 sheets of 7/16 osb. Was presently surprised as each sheet was now only 25.46 each. I think they were up at or a little over $50 each earlier in the year here locally.

Cleaned shop and loaded trailer for a Monday morning trip to the driveline shop to drop off driveshafts for fummins and then a set of axle housings to the sand blaster for a customers upcoming build.

Spent several hours hanging osb on the office and threw several pieces up on the roof before leaving for the day. Going to try and get roof completed tomorrow. Waiting on electrician and insulation guy to get in and do their thing.

Sean are yo I going to do a ac unit of some sort in the office?

Mini split, same unit as Charles has in his Connex I think. I ordered the wall mount last fall and just ordered condensor. First condenser came in last week and freight company had run a fork thru the middle of it about 18” off the floor. Swear those freight companies can break bowling balls with rubber mallets……

Replacement has already shipped out

I’m sure you already know this Shawn. 90+% of the leaks are from poorly executed flare fittings.

Make sure your flares are good and then vacuum the system for 30 minutes and then leave the gauge on it to make sure it holds. Then turn the Allen screw to release the refrigerant.

Not sure if I mentioned it but it not a bad idea to have an water level cut off sensor in the drain pan I’m case the drain clogs so it doesn’t drip water inside.

Yup, you had me buy the sensor. My electrician went thru hvac school so he’s setting it up and wiring it too.  :likebutton:

Apparently I’m going through HVAC training myself today. Drug  the truck out of the shop with the tractor hosed it down with purple degreaser and pressure washed it and then pushed it back in the shop with the tractor and remove the rest of the AC system and started flushing the evaporator core since that’s the only piece I’m going to retain. Just take a look at the gunk coming out of this thing I guess the compressor ate itself and threw trash all in the system. I ran a quart through the evaporator but I’m still not convinced it’s clean so I’m going to run at least another quart or two through until it comes out squeaky clean. Then after evaporates I’ll purge with nitrogen and Cap it
until it’s time to install the rest of the components because I have to reinstall the cooling stack first.
