I've seen those bucket vaults for sale before, probably available cheaper than the ones stamped NRA.

Pvc pipe sealed with glued on caps accomplishes the same thing.  If you are digging it up things have gone wrong just remember oxysorb when you seal them.  You can get a disassembled Ak and several rounds in a 6 inch pvc

You wanna know what irrtates me about the NRA? Well I'm gonna tell you. About every other month I get a bill to renew my membership or to upgrade it. I pay it once a year. They could save so much money if they quit sending me junk mail.

Become a Life Member- I haven't gotten a renewal in 20+ years

The standard answer to that from all the other forums I frequent is "if its time to bury them its time to use them"

Although burying other things for various reasons is where these come in handy.

RN is referring to cashing of "back up" provisions at different levels of his layered plan.  IE: secondary sites, tertiary sites, family rally points or somewhere for later use well after SHTF breaks out.

I'm bettin' he's got back-ups he's got to look up the locations of- he's that thorough!

Been a life member for some time, now I get the call to become an "endowment" member all the time. Plus they still have their current emergency going all the time.

I like what they do but they could save so much if not "always" asking for just a little more!

For storing you can get 55 gallon drums from Sportsman guide for $50 shipped. Screw on top old pickle barrel. Then I got 8in pipe with caps, no disassembly.

Yea, I am definitely on with that. Fits in a freshly augured hole pretty easily as well!

Well, yes and no.

Soldiers cache supplies here and there for future use...

You can also bury some old derelict weapon on your liberal neighbor's property...They when the thing turns commie, drop the dime on them and get some added work space...just sayin'

You are correct, sir!

And good idea on the liberal neighbor too.

We'll have to come up with some standard dimensions for say a shotgun with a pistol grip, a M4 and a AK-47
Each with some ammo and some desiccant.

I'll go grab some PVC next time I am over at Slowes and make some tubes up

Spit ball idea: could you use rice for desiccant?  In a cloth sack one top, one bottom- then possibly use as food when opened?  Obviously could draw critters, but maybe not?  Outside of vermin, what could get in through PVC.

I believe they are called Gamma Lids, waterproof should be around paint area at Home Depot. Lids are sold by themselves. These used to be only available through CTD but they suck as the biggest price gougers out there in times of high demand. Home Depot had them at all the stores back in Indiana so worst case scenario you can buy them online there.

I bought these lids years ago for bulk food storage. I would get used food grade 2.5 gal buckets at dunkin donuts for couple bucks (buckets are perfect height for long pasta, think spaghetti) add mylar bag and oxygen absorbers and your GTG. One note, I always filled buckets and left them in freezer for 24hours b4 sealing. This kills any potential bugs.......

6 pack for $40 so less than $7 a unit.
