Bad part about mooning them, they can now recognize you coming or going.

That’s what caused the activity - they saw Kens ass and it triggered facial recognition that Hillary was there!

I suppose they have facial recognition software. They fly around all the time around my in-laws in Owsley county Kentucky. I just stand there and wave. They hovered over me for a good 10 minutes one day when I was burning trash. I thought they were going to land. I could see the camera. So I know I'm on file someplace.

Trying to figure out the appropriate measurements and angles and such for a new set of stairs I’m putting in for the loft at the new house. Unfortunately I don’t  have enough space for a straight staircase, so I either need a landing or a winder st the bottom. I’m leaning toward doing a winder, I think it will fit in perfectly. Something like in the picture, except in real measurements instead of metric, would work with metric that’s just weird.

Divide by 25.4 or multiply by .03937 to convert to standard from metric

Yeah, I get the conversions, but it’s like doing voodoo witchcraft. Yeah, you might get the results you want, but you had to consort with the devil to get there.
I remember in grade school when they were talking about the possibility of converting over to metric system, we all acted like it was a personal affront. Then they added the metric equivalents to the interstate signs but that’s as far as they went.

I recall that one mars mission that we spent a lot of money on. Something about one team was using one conversion rate & the other team was using a slightly different one. End result I believe was the thing crashing into the dirt......

Think those are a little narrow too. I was told in the US 36in is standard for the width. 800mm is around 31.4 inches.

I'd do a landing instead of a winder. Those angled steps make it easy to hurt yourself if you're aren't paying attention.

Yeah, my books are at the other house, but there are minimums for codes but your local may differ.  generally 36 treads (some lost to ballisters and handrails) and 7.75 inches (that's seven and three quarters for you in Rio Linda) and 10 inches for the tread depth.  No more than 3/8 inch variation in rise over the entire staircase steps.  Minimum headroom is 6'8".

You can also kick the landing at a 45 degree angle on one side, saves more space than a traditional 90 degree landing & still safe. This is what’s in my current home, can post a pic if you need.

I would do a landing and as stated 36 inch wide at minimum. The stairs to the basement in our addition are nice and wide. The orignal stairs in the old part are narrow. Its a real pain to move anything up stairs.

Back in Indiana a lot of the old farmhouses has very narrow staircases & we always took out an upstairs window to move furniture in & out.

Last night and today, I attended the 9th annual Scott McIntosh Memorial Patriot Dinner and Golf Tournament to honor Corporal Scott McIntosh KIA 10th of March 2008 by a suicide bomber in Bagdad. http://thefallen.militarytimes.com/army-cpl-scott-a-mcintosh/3432590 Proceeds benefit Folds of Honor, which provides scholarships to widows and orphans of fallen heros.  We raised $578,000, of which more than 90% will go directly to scholarships. https://www.foldsofhonor.org/about-us/our-team/

There are always great patriots and warriors in attendance and this year was no exception.  Major Dan Rooney (call sign Noonan), founder of Folds of Honor, Major Ed Pulido,VP of Folds of honor, and several other patriots.

Guest speaker this year was Staff Sgt Clinton Romesha, CMH, along with a WWII veteran Gideon Jones, who was shot down over Italy and held in Stalag VII. https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2016/december/pilot/pilots-gideon-jones

I was humbled to be amongst such great men, great patriots, great warriors.

Some photos to follow.

This bike belonged to a Marine KIA who used to ride with his dad.  His dad had it customized and now it travels with the Texas wall of soldiers from Texas KIA

Nate pointed out the Soldier's Cross was missing the helmet cover.  I still cry every time I see this.

Not me Bob.  I do leave here every year with the resolve to raise my children to honor God and honor our country.

SSgt Romesha and Gideon Jones and Mr. McIntosh all made reference to the fact that no one in this audience took a knee during the national anthem and Mr Jones even went so far as to say that if anyone had taken a knee we'd have thrown him/her out and given them a pink slip after the appropriate beat down.  Standing ovation.

Yes Charles, you da man!

On a crap note, spent the day filing police reports arranging a new truck windo, talking to insurance etc.. Truck got broke into last night. 2-3k of stuff hauled off. All of my skidoo motor parts..
Window getting replaced tomorrow, parts all supposed to be back in again tomorrow as well.

Only thing visible was a few bags of potato chips.
On top of the parts box...
Took all the groceries, two jugs of tide, and not entirely sure what all else just yet.
Left the ice fishing rods, skidoo shocks, air compressor, bag of stuff from Wholesale sports...

Very confusing...
May have been pot induced munchies, or they were saw, not sure.

Looks like it all should work out, but a giant PITA.

So I was set to order Marvin Integrity Ultrex pultruded fiberglass windoews for the casita but the retailer just orders from the factory and doesnt stock any inventory.  They wanted 50% deposit and to sign a contract that says I can't back out, blah blah blah.

What struck me is that they say 2-3 weeks to delivery but offer no guarantee or concession like being ale to cancel the order if they take more than 5 weeks.

So they get my money and I have to just live with it if there is some unforseen delay.  I told them to apply copious amounts of force to small particles of silica into sensitive orifices......

My brother got his made in Cali and it took almost 3 weeks, so 2-3 sounds average. Sidenote; they wanted 1200 to ship to Az, so he was going to pick them up. I had him call back and question the amount and they dropped to 500. ...shady as heck imo.

Windows, always an issue,  whichever one it is...

So update on my misfortune.
Truck is getting window replaced as we speak.
Auto Insurance waiving deductible due to it being vandalism.

Home insurance covering contents.
Only $2k max coverage on parts, now without cores, I'll be just over 2k, so it will be ok.
The rest will all be covered that was stolen.
Deductable also waived as claims free on the policy.
Most of the parts picked up again today, rest tomorrow and then get outta dodge Saturday morning.

Been a better news day for me today.

I was up early and had meetings most of the morning. After lunch I headed to the house and swapped trucks and picked up 2 prime packer briskets and 2 pork butts. Headed to the hide and trimmed and seasoned and got them on the smoker. Have a function at work tomorrow and I'm bringing meat.

Sooooooo I get them on the smoker and pfffft! The igniter rod blowed. So I have spare igniter but no fuses!  High tail it to the store and buy all the 5amp fuses they had.  Not going to have that problem again. Got the meat going an hour later than expected and I'll be pushing it to get out of here by 6 am.

I went to order a replacement igniter rod to keep as a spare on hand and Rec Tec now makes a ceramic igniter and SS fire pot combo they say is good for 100,000 cycles. I bought that instead for $89. I figure if it outlasts 3 igniter rods I'm ahead.  We shall see.  I'll probably buy another igniter rod just to keep on hand with the old fire pot as a backup.  It's never a good time to have a smoker go down.

And I had my wife pull the trigger on the windows for the casita. Hope to have them in two weeks. Will pick up the metal roof tomorrow or Saturday.

What all you guys thoughts on unplugging my Fass 150 while I drive,   My pup hates the noise of the pump.   I was thinking while transporting the dog just simply unplug it?  Excess work on the cp3 pump maybe?

A tank sump has been proven to quiet those things down considerably.

I've read threads on DF of guys that have put them on. They say it quiets them down. The culprit is usually the oem draw straw in the tank.  The sump eliminates that. Beans is a good sump.

Here's one
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eduramaxforum%2Ecom%2Fforum%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Fp%3D11315513&share_tid=912457&share_fid=90745&share_type=t&share_pid=11315513

FASS 150 and BEANS SUMP here on my 15' LML.  Never any issues.  Installing the BEANS SUMP really quiets the FASS down because the suction is now pulling from the very bottom of the tank vs. the stock ......

I have a beans sump. I️ like it. I️ have an Air Dog so I didn’t have the noise issue.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

General consensus is just install a beans sump in it than.   I’ll see what I can find for parts

I did order my trans cooler this week finally

TRN, check your instruction that came with the rectec because there should be instructions on how to ignite the pot without an igniter rod.

I do now that my louisana grills came with those instructions......let me know and ill send them to you.

Thanks Nate. Yeah basically just put alcohol gel in it.  Light the pot and let the rest work. I️ didn’t have a fuse so I had to make that work before the electronics would work. And I had spare parts so all good. Thanks for the reminder.

Got to work this little dandy this morning. On a perfectly good road a teenager runs up into someone’s yard, hits their mailbox, and turns their car onto its side. Dad gets there and is livid. At who you’re probably thinking? Well the homeowner obviously since they are at fault. Their mailbox was clearly not the required 3 feet from the backside of the curb. According to him the mailbox had to be at least 10’ from the centerline of the road, unless it was more than 10’ from centerline to the curb, then it had to be 16’ from the centerline, with at least 3 of those being between the mailbox and the curb. He knows this “from experience”.

Then I mounted this guy because why the heck not. It’s a 44” bar from OPT7. Regular price on amazon is $125-145 but I bought it on sale last week for $39.

Yup, that mailbox just jumped right off the curb into the road!?  Dad is kids biggest issue!

Today, froze my nay nays with 19 degrees at sunrise!  Had camper home to blow out water lines and figured I’d run heat in it last night, today and tonight.  Gotta use it next Friday for 10 days in Arkansas so I don’t want to run anti-freeze in the lines.  Supposed to be above freezing after tonight so should be good to go based upon weather forecast.

Not just today but more every day, I realize we are surrounded by idiots. The more numbers added to the human race the more of a probaility the gene pool will continue to be soiled.  That lil’ CIEMR sidenote is done.  I swear I’m not a pessimist. Just a realist.

ANYhow!  I’ve been looking at the GC for a while and it’s time to build a bumper and put a real light bar on it.  I like that one longball.
