Those stacked plate coolers are the way to go. Bout to swap a couple of them onto spartan.

Summit has them for a great price too.

Why would you need permits? Doesn't look to wide, heavy or to long?

Is it like Ca where they have to get their piece for interstate?

I watched a couple vids on the shackles after they were mentioned. Used right they will be safer just like Syn line vs cable.

Never though about that with struts, good info.

Got me to thinking about the Marine Capt. in Ice Station Zebra when they were blindfolded field striping ARs and asked why, "what you going to do, light a match"

They are a simple thing once built.

Link to company? Those soft shackles look cool, never heard of em before but not a hard core wheeler either.

Extinguishers only work if you can get to them,,,,,,

Need to see some tire on that critter!

Only thing I don't like about the palmetto uppers is almost all are 1/7 twist. That's better for heavier rounds, 55gr may tumble some, but that is not set in stone.

My latest is 1/8, but most are 1/9 that favor the 55gr more.

Good luck on your build, pretty easy compared to what we do around here all the time.

6009
Never seen that, pretty good.

Don, I vote for just the shackle flip right now when you do the axle. Cheaper than new springs, avoids axle wrap and they are settled.

Keep it simple unless you have more time. New longer springs means both mounts.

Alaska, that is a trip I have always wanted to do. Once the boys are out off HS, I will!

Don, I thought you were a little younger than that. I turn 61 in June, feel pretty darn good too but I need to get in shape. Keeping up wit those scouts is a job.

100, that would be great. Don't plan on running laps then but as long as I am moving good I'll be good.

Sounds like you got some fair coin for all of SD parts. Sort of a blessing with the end result and changing directions.

Yep, looking at the damage from the pins I think I will get some holes from them. Half of them pulled off when pulling. Bad part is still about 3/8 deep.

A skin would be better, but a door is probably in the future. It has a few pins left on it now and I threw a coat of primer on it for now.

Tomorrow I am going to cut the spring hangers off.

The new springs have 3in more arch than what looks like 4in lift springs. Sure they will settle some but I like the look right now. Will probably be a little stiffer.

Tried a little body work on the drivers rear door. Pulled out a lot of it using the HF stud tool, but still not really that good. Still has a couple pockets that are not pulling out and you cannot get behind it. No repair panels are out there for this and china doors (poor quality) are $400. Will play with it a little more, skim it with bondo and see how it holds up. Can always get a scrap yard door.

6016
Shipping is around $200, plus 9% sales tax.

Everyone looks to be priced the same at $1691. Find a sale, get free shipping, no tax. Now that's a deal!

6017
I doubt they would care about little ol me, plus shipping and tax. Nice idea though.

Finally got the truck tuned again using PPEI who helped me through a V2 issue. Now I need to get the TCM done.

Dave, 10!! You will be where I am in another 14 years.

TRN, you married way over your head.

Thanks Ken, they also have the narrowest IFS lift.

Now if I can find a sale (or insider) to get the $1700 price down some

I would keep them too unless you want monster flares to cover the rub lines.

By the way, I dropped the SAS on my Dmax. Going with a standard lift again.

Isn't that what a new civi one runs anyway?

6023
You guys are going to love this. As good as it sounds and even with the parts I have gotten, I have decided to put a standard IFS lift on. With what has gone on in the last few months I think I jumped the gun a little fast on the SAS. It sounded cool and would be, but with Spartan still going, house selling, regular dad things, Scouts and looking for land, I can't afford the dmax down for a month or so.

So, I am looking at the Cognito 4-6 lift again. I have the Cognito upper arms and new bearing hubs. Still have the 9.25 IFS housing with 4.56 gears.

So I will gather the rest of the parts as I get Spartan going. Build the front axle and have everything ready for when I do it.

Rest of my parts showed up. The DIY4x stuff is really nice. Got some angle 1/4 iron to attach the front hangers.

Rain started again as I go the front up and blew off few more parts.

Will need to drop the sway bar and found it already has a raised steering arm. The 4in springs are about 2-3in under the mounts with the new springs right on the frame.

I like it, diff and a history of the owner.

The other NTBD lift is Cognito, the lift I had. Their knuckles are also formed and welded with just a 1/2 inch spacer.

Were Fox shocks part of the package?

Tools are always cool. Does it bolt up like it should and checked runout?

Looks like it is on backwards, wrong side.
You think?
It aligns with the factory LCA in this manner. A raised boss on the control arm aligns with the shorter shoulder, so I was thinking this was the right way. Anyway, I pulled it off, and switched it around and it still was not allowing the LCA to rise without pushing this thing outward. Something is not right with it...

If I remember don't these come off and replaced by smaller ones for more travel?

When I did simunitions I did empty a mag on a guy with a shotgun. They asked why, said he didn't drop the gun and hadn't hit the ground yet.  :cheesy:

Paintball and Simunitions don't have an impact like a real round.
