Yes 20 years of protecting poppy fields is going up in smoke. The loss of life is bad...upsetting. The rest....meh.

Biden is a clown, and so is most our military leadership in that theater.... this isn't news.

you'll be fine fella.... I have trimmed dozens of those over the years. And Kens correct....it's a cummins, a little seepage is normal.

I am just a farmer mind ya...But our combination is just poor. Combine that with clearly poor tuning and it doesn't perform well...go figure. Fix that tune first....even a democrat knows it shouldn't backfire.

As for the transfer case.... Al the damage/issues sound like it was binding up. If it was assembled correctly this would not have happened. Same is true of the front diff. No matter how crappy the chev IFS is, they usually survive driving on the road LoL

I'd wager a little chassis dyno tuning by a true professional, (not cheap) and it would run fine despite the poor combination.

Just a farmers opinion.

You can buy it at Tractor Supply...its used often for horses and cattle. Most any farmer has a tube or two around here.

as for tests....our one daughter works in a Elderly Care facility.... she is tested once a week. She has came up positive 15 times... go to another facility retest...Negative. Its a scam

Ya Tate that cummins, long springs and a stick shift make shockloads at times a reality. Still not really sure how i broke it, but boy under deceleration I sure knew when it was broke. Might have been when I horsed it around the autocross course on a dare. Either way it was a simple fix.... my evaporating power steering fluid is far more frustrating.....ugh

Maybe its just me.... but why wouldn't a stock LS be enough for an adventure rig?  just did Colorado/Moab/SD trails a plenty in my wifes Jeep Gladiator, combined with 3000+ miles of gravel and dirt roads across the USA and it's not real spunky stock engine did just fine. It did fine in the snow at 12K plus elevation, it did fine on the slick rock and sand of Moab and it did fine in the rocks and mud of South Dakota. Even averaged close to 17mpg for the trip.

I broke the ring Tate was mentioning on the pass side of my rear grizzly....no idea how I broke it. I just whipped up two new ones out of tool steel and its back to working as it should. Probably should have took pics...

wow.... leave the internets a while and you miss things lol

Ya all can't just buy Black Rifle coffee at the supermarkets?  Not bad java, but my wife always just makes her own from beans she buys at the grocery. Amazing fresh coffee, and much less spendy.

JR....manual is nice. I bust this Nv4500 again I am going Auto. Apparently full boost in 5th gear with a heavy trailer is a poor idea. *who knew?

Not much else to update...its driving around doing truck stuff. I have some rattles to find and solve, and a very odd loss of PS fluid. Other than the busted NV4500 all has been smooth. The newly Norm/built Nv4500 has been just fine so far...knock on wood.

My wife has other plans for my time recently, she bought a new project....ugh.

She conned me into putting the old crew back on the road. Complete frame up redo. That was great fun during the rest of the worlds "covid phase"

1985 W350 (barn find) it was in my barn so it counts. Lets see we bought it like 20 years ago...tossed in a stroker big block, some 38's and lockers and beat it all over a few countries. then took it apart 15 years ago.... and Barn find =)

It's now sporting a healthy VE pump IH block/head build. Cam, extrude ported head, S300 turbo, the usual stuff and some very amusing pump mods. NV4500 (billet imput/outputs) South Bend clutch, and a almost brand new NOS Np205.

1410 rear shaft/1350 CV front shaft. Dana 60 front with Dana 70 gears/Grizzly, 35 spline aftermarket inner/outter shafts. Yukon Lockouts, cut/turned knuckles, Dana 70 "c's" GLO cover...Blah blah.... Rear 14 Bolt has a grizzly and aftermarket axle shafts, and some GLO disk brakes/cover.  Thanks again to my two favorite hippies... Shawn at GLO and Tate up there at Yukon.

It has a crossover steering... Moly tubes, HD TRE's and a PSI steering box. Alcan front springs, Chevy Suburban rear springs, 3" of lift total. Truck will fit in a 7" door with the 40's. Weighs under 6000lbs full of fluids, runs the 1/4 in under 14 sec, and has averaged 21mpg over the last 1500 miles.

It's far from finished really, still have plenty of paint work to do. (wet sand buff, paint rear fenders)  Build some bumpers, and completely redo the interior. But overall we are happy with it....it tows great, runs along at 90mph on I80 no problem and in general works just fine.

I can relate....a simple plan like tossing AC in the dodge turned into....well may as well get the OBA built, and I should likely carpet the floors, and I need new seats since no one will upholster anything under $800 a seat anymore. Which then leads to things such as cup holders and blah blah blah.......
