I'm asking for a prayer for my daughter and a close friend of hers. My daughter is fine albeit distraught. A good friend of hers from college was on a trip in Australia with her fiancé. They were camping and the tent was struck by lightning and the fiancé was killed. Fortunately my daughter's friend, while injured, is okay. But a horrible situation on what was supposed to be a year travelling Australia before coming back to the US to get married. I pray for the fiancé who lost his life and his family, for my daughter's friend, and for my daughter.

Sorry I missed this Sean. I'll include her. Was it one of your girls that got some campfire debris in their eye a while back? How's everyone doing w/ your stepdad? Better I hope.

Thanks Tate, on the other my step dad passed 4 days before election (he still was re-elected btw). So I'm back in Hoosier country this week helping Mom sort thru lots of different things with the business and farm.

Ashley's oldest who made a full recovery had a firework blow up right in front of her, testament to prayer right there.

About the fiancé I will keep them all in my prayers as well.

Just got a call from Duane's wife
He is in the back of an ambulance enroute to the hospital
He threw out his back... Can't move, extreme pain...
History: he works out every day. His back was bothering him so instead of taking it easy he starts core stuff...well that was the incorrect choice
Now there is more to why this is not a good thing for him, but I'll save it for later

For now let's all just say a heartfelt prayer for him

Thanks

Prayers worked!

Today he went in for his first visit. After the initial Dr exam, they carted him off to the MRI. Then they red the MRI on the spot. (This place has it goin' on!) the diagnosis was that he has numerous micro tears in a couple of discs. So they then gave him some steroid injections into the actual site of the tears.

He is back home, in bed...Planning some cross country skiing expedition in Wyoming after Christmas.

Like I've always said, You just can't find a Black Hawk pilot with any sense!

Guys:

Thanks for the out-pouring of support and prayers.  I am both humbled and appreciative.

Fortunately, I am on the mend.  The doc said it would be two to three days until the epidural / steroids injected on Friday started showing effect and I think it is starting to kick in.  This is the first time I have been able to sit at a computer since the injury.  Up to now, even rolling over in bed has been a painful and slow task.

This experience is certainly giving me an opportunity to appreciate family and friends. Even the millennial daughters are stepping up to help out while mom assumes hospital shuttle and travel hockey duty.

Thanks again.

In this season when we all get busier than we should with stuff that often distracts us from what's important (and belI've me I'm saying this for myself as much as anyone!) I pray we all get time to stop and reflect on what really matters.

Please include me in your prayers tonight also. I've been battling chronic kidney stones since I was about 17 but they are getting bigger and more frequent, even with medication, diet change, supplements etc. I've got one now that seems to be stuck around the er um walnut sized jobber that makes it hard for old timers to go #1. Hoping it passes without surgery, just can't afford to be down right now.

Sure would be good of him. I've broken 15 bones over my life, (hit by a car when I was 10 for most of them), but I'd take broken bones over the kidney stone pain any day. don't wish that stuff on anyone but the jihadis.
