And I would just have them sharpen it if you do ship it back.

How many Asian people did you see hiking in regular cloths?    That’s what I found comical in Moab.   Scout troops in full dress hiking sticks n boots and full packs. Than a Asian lady walking carrying a infant in her arms wearing clog looking shoes.     That’s when I swore I’d never do arches again.

Funny Dave,  saw them everywhere in Yellowstone.

It irks me to no end when people walk side by side on a path and wont move for oncoming traffic.

At Yellowstone, many Germans, Asians, Indians and others.  Great to see the beauty of our country being appreciated by others.  Europeans generally have a good sense for wearing the right gear.  Indians and Japanese, not so much but at least they are having a good time.

On our last trip to Moab I ended up yelling at an Asian family to move out of the way.  They struggled with some slick sandy rock areas and a river crossing.   Wrong attire makes that stuff harder.  I told them to turn around and go to the shops on Main Street

In Yellowstone I had a lot of asian people taking photos of my blue eyed blond twins.   Like blatantly taking my kids photos.  So I started holding them with the bird finger out

The shirt is even red. Maybe if he were standing in front of the bus — he’d blend right in!

I was wondering what you would blend into.

Used to see people from the SF area out walking their dogs during hunting season. I loved seeing the reaction when they saw me with a rifle, I'd say you know its deer season right?

Too many times, for sure Nate.

So I’m trying to get things wrapped up at the weekend place before we head out to Memphis to visit the in laws tomorrow.

Got up early to mow and trim. Got almost done and was mowing around the pond and ....you guessed it. Put the new zero turn in the water. Not just in the water but it was steep and the mower slid all the way to the bottom in the middle of the pond. As I swam away from it I was watching the bubbles move further out and settle right near the middle of the pond. At least I hit the switch and killed it before it went under.

Charles, we bought a small zero turn mower yesterday. When reading the owners manual, in BIG print is warns about mowing too close to ponds and ditches. You are famous in the zero turn world it sounds like.

Yeah, it’s a heavy pig....

We poured all the exterior blocks full of crete, the cap is 4” thick and add in the rebar there is a couple pounds sitting on that foundation.

It will be an outdoor fireplace. The interior of firebox will get firebrick lining and I may add a cooking grate down the road.

Lowe’s and HD, that is a steel window well surround. It was too wide and I wasn’t sure of depth so I bought two and then hacked and screwed them back together. Generic and rough but good enough for a concrete form.

Yeah, I considered it but we really don’t eat pizza very often. Originally we were going to buy a precast unit. However, those ran about $2500 just for the precast no outside finish, high temp mortar, firebrick, or foundation. I will have less than $1200 not including firebrick in the whole unit you see here.

Jackson is about five hrs away from slc I was asking

Simply thinking of the rush hour traffic he would be driving into if he was leaving later in the day.

Got an 03 Chebby really cheap because it had a blown transfer case, and I mean totally destroyed. This is exactly what I wanted, to leave in Idaho to save on rentals.
Wasn't as good as I thought. The transfer case took out the transmission tail housing. Both ujoints toast. Water pump leaking. Front end worn out. Someone did a pad slap on rotors worn down to the fins, and the cluster drained the battery over night.
The rear bumper was shoved into the plastic bed side so I pulled that out today and "fixed" the cracks in the bed by hot glueing pieces of thin plastic to the backside, then replaced the taillights.

Any update in not so good deal???????  at least parts are cheap and you know someone that can work on things I think.

Shawn that looks good. I may pick your brain. I’d like to make a wood fired oven

Yeah. JH is about 5 hours from SLC. Inevitably I get behind a large truck doing 20mph up the 10% grade in Teton pass.  Then a lane closure on I-15 took its toll. I honked on the way by Dave.

I did find a great little restaurant in Brigham City when we stopped for lunch. Rusted Spoon.

Flight to PHX was cancelled and now  I’m on the flight to Vegas and they screwed up my TSA pre designation and my boarding position for the family got bumped to the back of the C group.

Security found 2 rounds of spent brass in my pack but as least I took all the edged weapons out.

Then a really nice lady got us preboard passes to help make up for the inconvenience.  Won’t be home until 2am now.

One of the things I find fascinating is noticing differences in things as I travel across the country.

For example.  UT and WY seem to have a lot more trucks with extra drop axles or multiple drop axles than I’m used to in Texas. And they pull more doubles and triples than I am used to seeing.

Also, they mostly use huge square bales of hay/alfalfa where in Texas we are almost exclusively round bales.

And then the cement trucks are completely backwards, having drop axles and the discharge up front.

Wouldn’t be hard Charles, just need to extend the fire box taller. Then pour a concrete shelf but leave it short from back of box to allow smoke to go up flue

Let’s explore that a bit more. Wouldn’t the wood fired oven need a domed ceiling and the back sealed?  Or in a dedicated wood fired where does it draw when the doors in front are closed?

The front unload cement trucks here are great for visibility of the driver.  He doesn’t even leave the cab except to wash out and load the shoot

Charles, the heat goes up the flue. Thus I think back of the pizza area needs to be open to smoke. Here again that may screw up the draft flow....

There is a formula for draft being that depending on area of firebox opening flue size needs to be X and with that depends on height of chimney. I did this calculation when building mine. As far as doors on front of box there are always adjustable vents below the doors or in case of my high efficiency insert I had an air control rod.

The gate thing is true right up to the grass catcher. I had to redo the gate from 36 inches to 48 inches. Of course as I was digging the new gate post hole the main line for the sprinkler system got into the way. Got that fixed then had to replace the 4x4's used for edging and also put one under the new gate to keep the puppy in the yard. The formed corners of the gate were not quite right after I screwed the thing together but will have to do for now.

Nice ride Bob.  Looks like it almost turned into an oil change with that gate...

Stay away from the pond....

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Let me see if I can get some pictures of my managers wood fired pizza oven.  It makes pizza just like I had it overseas and he does steaks after searing and everything else in there too.

Swapped out the TPS in the van today, it was shifting late and long and would high idle at park after driving. After the swap, no more problems. Hardest part was reaching stuff under the hood, I had to swing the alternator out of the way(barely) to get to the mounting screws.
