Sounds like the wheels aren’t pulled tight on the rear hubs. Or is the hub actually moving along with the wheels when you are checking for play?

What happened to that big wood burner unit deal you had for the house Don?  That thing heated water didn’t it?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was wondering same thing…
My guess is he hasn’t fired it up for the season.  If I recall, that outdoor boiler was enough to heat him out of the house in the dead of winter, and we just left the 70s for highs today. Upcoming week has highs in the 40s here.

Well, I’ve been told there is a bear every square mile up here and as many big cats. The only thing my neighbor hasn’t seen on our property is a bear, yet.

About a mile up the road here a couple months back a guy had 7 mountain lions in his back yard. That made the paper even, I think 7 constitutes a pride maybe?
Did they have a rainbow flag?

Haven’t noticed any of the cars acting odd.  But my son’s new to him 1995 4Runner is leaking coolant, so that might have something to do with it.

I am also going to have him build me a backstop for a 200m shot from the house to the back corner of the field, or as a pistol backstop from a little closer . And some whoops and a tabletop or two for the kids on dirt bikes and four wheelers.

It’s called winterizing, the Kentucky way. Plus I had the top of the ridge cut off to give us some flat space in the back. Most of the dirt was used to level up the East side of the house and garage. The entire area the house and garage sit on is a ridge top. The east side of the garage was a treacherous hillside to walk or drive anything on. So we got this done:

Added about 10 feet of level ground outside the kitchen door and a full ten foot width flat and level path around the east side of the garage. The garage on this side is about 120 feet long so it’s been a lot of earth moving.

Let's pray that is the last of your problems.
But
Unless Jesus himself is standing around
and
you continue to use any form of heavy equipment
This is only the start of machine related problems
Case in point, I have a Cat 953 sitting on a hill outside my kitchen door with a broken hydraulic line(I think).  Luckily it is not my responsibility to fix it or pay for the repairs, I’m only cutting the check for the earth moving that is occurring.  And there is a lot of that.

Probably pulled my VIN off the dash and paid someone at a dealer to cut a key
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You would think this would be an audited query on the database either st the dealership or on the GM system. They should be able to pull a listing of anyone that pulls the vehicle key code , that shouldn’t be an easily accessible item I would think for just this reason.   But then again, I’m used to military and financial networks.  There’s probably a class action there somewhere for neglect or something on their part when it would be easy enough to secure/audit that one data item and track down the persons responsible.  But I’m not a lawyer, that’s just me.

Build Threads / 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring
« on: September 03, 2022, 11:15:40 PM »
Picked up a new to us 2011 Honda Odyssey Touring today. Got it for a good price. It needs a few things but nothing major at this point. Our other Odyssey(2005 EX-L) has been great for us, but is being relegated to being a training vehicle for the children. It is sitting at 368000 miles and is showing its age. Not to mention, my second oldest daughter managed to rip the bumper cover off it by getting it caught on a curb. Then she left for a mission trip 4 days later.

So back to this one, it is fully loaded with all sorts of goodies, from a “Cool Box” mini chiller to full rear entertainment. It has a some paint issues that I would like some input on<cough>, big Dave. Im going to take it into Honda next week for an oil change. They are good at pointing out things that need to be done so I can decide if I want to do them myself. :)

Spent the night last night and tonight down in eastern Kentucky doing flood relief service. Did debris cleanup and muck outs of a few properties, will continue until about 2 tomorrow and then head home. I brought three of my kids down with me(18,16, and 15). I am proud of them. My boys dove right under a house into a crawl space to pull insulation out form under the floor. No real hesitation. They all worked all day and are having a great time this evening at camp with the other youth.

One of many interesting sights today.

Just doing my part. I figure a finders fee would be cheaper than a new wheel and powder coating.  Funny thing is I wasn’t even looking for wheels and tires last night, it just popped up in my suggested items.  In hindsight, I should have bought it and stuck it on the Blazer.

Would Love to go with you.  They are so cool.  I was wearing multicam shorts and a noveske t shirt and hadn’t planned on going so they accommodated me in the downstairs bar when I went through there on my way to pick up my RV

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
That's one of the reasons we love to go there as a family
THe dressing up part.
Arrive, then have the car vale'd off, then the kind reception
Next the whole dining experience while wearing a jacket and tie with the boys dressed up. It may cost a small mortgage payment, but who can put a price on the memories?
So while on the subject of fine dining in Cincy, I recommend the following:

Seasons 52    Features chef-prepared seafood to steaks, never had a miss there, medium expensive
The Precinct      This is the Jeff Ruby restaurant where it all started. An old cincy police station. Steaks, expensive.
The Chart House     Fine dining centered around a seafood menu sitting and perched over the Ohio river in Newport, KY
McCormick and Schmicks     Fine dining in the center if downtown. Chef prepared seafood, my favorite, expensive
Grandview Tavern    Located in Ft. Mitchel KY, very nice area, traditional country cuisine, specialty: Fried chicken, medium expensive
Walts Hitching Post     Fort Wright, KY, generations of ribs. Best in the area. Reasonably priced

Going to use this as my go to list for taking my wife out for nice dinners.

It’s a very mature decision, albeit totally unexpected(especially for Don ).  For purely selfish reasons, I hate to see it go as watching the buildout process has given me lots of ideas on what to do or what is even possible in some instances.  I’ll be the one to applaud you making this decision. Not because it’s the right one for me or the other guys on the forum, but because it will give you back something it has been taking from you, time. Something you can spend with your wife, children and grandchildren. You can always find someone with a little bit of land and a bulldozer if you want to move dirt. Heck, I’ll let you park your equipment at my house while you’re waiting for it to sell <evil grin>.

You know, park, for safe keeping. But I might have to move it if it gets in the way. And it might run over some brush or a dirt pile, or make a dirt pile or accidentally make a trail. You know, park.
