Yea, Kurt Russel is one of my favorites
He articulates common sense as it relates to guns or vise-versa so well...

I gotta say, I'm impressed. Was this your first tire change?? Most people, including myself can struggle with this for hours...then give up and take it to a bike shop. Maybe because you lost a tooth in the process or you're tired of loosing paint from your wheel.
Nice work.
Well, first in a long time...Like decades Had help...Your brother! How's the tooth? ;-)

Sounds good, Don. Thoroughly appropriate. Brings to mind the adage, "Those who don't stand for something will never stand for anything."

So true! I have observed a lack of courage amongst the men of some of the churches I have attended I find that troubling and problematic Seems it always falls to just a few to stand up and march toward the gunfire. Evil exists and grows because some potentially good man who witnessed it did nothing to stop it.

Good for him! It's nice to see people reaching their goals.
Well said FYI, since the media does not inform you of good stuff, I'd estimate that maybe 75%-90% of the bombers fail in executing their mission. They always seem to blow themselves up beforehand. Or they detonate and no one gets hurt or they blow up their buddies. It was weird hearing that every day in the intel briefings... Put a smile on my face, was always a good way to start the day that way over there!

I'd say it adds about 2 quarts.
Depending on how much line, yea, around 2- 2.5 quarts more oil Thinking of the factory oil filter, I believe the standard filter is a bit larger, then you add a 2-quart filter to the mix and maybe 4-6 feet of line.

Great job Sam!
Amazing to me watching all the talent on this web site.
People would pay good money for stuff like this bumper. Men here just build it themselves!

So sorry to hear about your loss. They are man's best friend. Prayers sent for you and your family.

^^^Good follow through
I am still happily eating through my ever renewing Toyos
Thing is, although I have to step up and buy tires more frequently, I pay no attention to muddy conditions, trailering, driving on wicked cross slopes next to trees or anything else.
I'm wondering if that truck might not be able to pull Sarge out if it gets stuck!

My system is still working perfectly after several years
I sample the oil and it always comes back with barely any change.
Now the big caveat is that in the 9,000 or so miles between resets of the oil change indicator I have added around 3-4 quarts of oil to the system. So obviously the oil is getting renewed to some extent. Having said that I haven't seen a 10% change in anything even when I had 30K on the same oil. I ended up changing it just because I couldn't stand it anymore. But, I believe I could still be running the oil I poured in there in 2012, just top up and change filters at the 25K and 50K intervals Amsoil calls for.

did you center that tank over the axle or is it more towards the front with a majority on the tongue?
I slid it in to the front until it stopped, then strapped it down

Good looking tire. I do like the angled lugs on the first tire for cleaning though.
Does it run?
Yes it runs! Drove it around after the tire swap. Just like normal. Throttle it and it lofts the front tire just like always

The offending tree is in the foreground
This was taken minutes before the accident.
The next day the boys took a hatchet and hacked that log to pieces...They were venting their anger and frustration.
I'll never use that one, nope, we plan to burn it!
This was pretty much all I got done except for creating the grave the next day...

Inner tube next, using the valve stem fishing tool
21875
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:52:35 AM »
The inside of the wheel looked great so with some lubing of the new tire bead, we worked it back onto the wheel
21876
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:51:00 AM »
Then the PR moved in and pulled the tire off the wheel by doing the prying thing and scratching up the wheel all to heck and back!
21877
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:49:49 AM »
Then the inner tube can be fished out
This one will become a spare
21878
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:48:46 AM »
Then, using the new tire iron/spoons the first bead is pried off the wheel lip
21879
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:47:32 AM »
We used a vise to break the beads off the lip, which was a bit of a chore since the tire had been on there since 2012
21880
« on: May 10, 2016, 09:46:16 AM »
And pulled out the rear wheel/tire
I'll be replacing it with a Shinko 805 Cross Fly which is a 40% highway/60% off road tire. The Shinko is a 130-17 whereas the stock Bridgestone is a 110-17, so I'll be getting a bit more cross-section.

He successfully yanked out the rear axle

« on: May 10, 2016, 09:45:06 AM »

I like the looks of that +2 mag extension.
I was shooting Duane's a couple weeks ago. Nice gun, but way too small for my big hands. Functions well, and recoils a bit more than my G19. Seemed about as accurate as any short barreled Glock pistol, and 9 mm hydra def packs a sufficient punch
I think Girls will like it a bunch...Black hawk pilots too!

Ephesians 6, 11-17
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
One of my favorites Don. I like it very much and really fits with our theme.
Yea, its a good fit with the RM thing I wonder what I/we should do with it...

So something happened in bible study this past Sunday We were finishing up Ephesians, Chapter 6 That's the really important part that talks about the armor of God I was reading through the words when all of a sudden one word stood out and stuck hard in my mind. I do a security job there as well, and later on during the actual service, I just couldn't get the concept of standing tough out of my mind. Heck that's what this site is all about. Standing together, standing up for God, standing up for what's right, standing up for our wives, and children, standing with fellow brothers when they are in the fire We Real men, Stand! Well, all this came to me and I was writing it all down. Some I researched later, but the idea occurred to me that this ought to be a movement for men of real courage and a boldness for Jesus to stand. What do you think? Is this something we should move on? I think the timing is perfect and the message is solid rock in a sea of shifting sand... So here it is: S T A N D 1 Corinthians 16:3 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Exodus 14:13 13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today 2 Chronicles 20:17 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you Job 11:15 15 then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear. Psalm 20:8 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Psalm 33:11 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Proverbs 10:25 25 When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. Proverbs 12:7 7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm. Isaiah 7:9 9 …If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.’” Matthew 10:22 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:13 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be save Luke 21:19 19 Stand firm, and you will win life. 1 Corinthians 15:58 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 16:13 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong Galatians 5:1 5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Ephesians 6:14 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place Philippians 1:27 27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 1. Stand one's ground: to maintain one's position 2. Stand for: to be a symbol for 3. To tolerate without flinching: bear courageously 4. To hold a course at sea 5. To perform the duty of <stand guard> 6. To exhibit courage, strength, or calm especially in the face of adversity 7. Usually implies the power to sustain without flinching or breaking 8. Implies continuing firm or resolute through trials and difficulties 9. Emphasizes even more strongly the ability to bear without flinching Stand on The Truth of God’s word Stand Against evil Give up No ground Stan D God ^ Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand Stand On God’s Word

At the air show this weekend I think my grandsons favorite craft was a toss up between the Chinook doing ferry duty for the jump crews and the B25 "Paper Doll" that he got a special tour through because Grandpa knows people LoL
The one Chinook they were giving walk through tours with, that aircraft saw some serious foot traffic. There was a line two blocks long for most of the day. Grand islands Air Guard did a stand up job of hospitality and educating folks on the Chinook. You'd be proud Don.
Cool!
