so as the title says, whats your preferred beverage of choice? have you tried anything new? did you like it or hate it?
my beverage of choice is spoken of in my signature, and I did try something new about a month ago.
I tried some of this twin valley distillers bourbon http://tvdistillers.com/ all of what he sells is not on the website.
cant say that it was a bourbon as it was more of a whisky, and I cant say that I would really recommend a tour of the place to anybody....(im surprised he passed a health inspection)
but in any case, ill leave this with you all …..especially for Charles..... :beercheers:

Jack Daniels single barrel cask strength. 130 proof
Tried George T Stagg this week. Pretty tasty. 140 proof limited production from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Part of the antique series.

Buffalo Trace, Knobb Creek, and last night I tried some Basil Hayden's dark rye. Other than that I like a good IPA and Arrogant Bastard has my attention at this moment.
-
I like Root Beer. However I've recently been drinking a liter of water most of the time.
-
Oh a little crown and coke goes a long way for me in the eve. Tumbler Full of coke with two shots of crown And ice

Same same Jr. Great minds think alike.
7&7 is pretty smooth too.

I'm not much for hard liquor. Just stick to my Bud Light. I do really like Captain Morgan and coke. I cant mix my own. By the 4Th one its pretty much straight Captain.

Another thing I like about 7&7 is you can go hard with it easy.

MMMMM yummy
My buddy just got a 200.00 bottle of Jack for his birthday...don't remember the spec, but I do remember his promise to share.
edit; just looked up his text. He said it's a Frank Sinatra version..?.. never heard of it. Hate to use google...don't want to be disappointed.
-
Hey Ken, I gotta Bottle of Jack I’ll sell you for $100!
-
Ken. It’s mainly marketing.
They carve grooves in the barrel in the inside to increase the surface area in contact with the char. But they still water it down. It’s not barrel strength
I haven’t tried it. But I would assume you get that same intensity from the barrel strength just at a higher proof.....and for $65

Sweet Tea!

Thanks Charles... I think I'll keep that to myself.
...my buddies tend to drink quantity over quality, so as long as he thinks it's special, I'll keep my mouth shut.

I like a good ginger beer, my favorite so far was made by a company called Ginger People. Good and spicy with some heat from the ginger.

I do like Ginger Beer, even by itself. The wife likes that with a good vodka-Moscow Mule. Goslings is good but oh man the sugar content is brutal.
Last night I enjoyed a few old fashioneds. Eagle Rare whiskey, 3 cherries (found some natural non fructose syrup, non dyed-taste so much better) a splash of simple syrup and ice. Very Very smooth. Wife and I sat on the porch swing and she even had some!
-
Ran out of coke a little while ago, tried Mt dew but later found that live wire and vanilla crown go pretty damn well

Swasamass: German thing. Liter of heffe-wisen with a double shot of peach schnapps in the shot glass way down inside that well of goodness.

To $$ to even drink!
-
I like the craft beers around Huntsville, AL. My favorite is a gose brewed by Straight to Ale. A couple of fingers of Dalwhinnie over an ice cube on occasion. For the most part, though, I'm a water drinker.
-
Tried something new today

If it’s the first time buying a bottle of that, try it with a sour mix. My wife likes amaretto sours, so I’m familiar with the many concoctions that can be made from amaretto.
-
Please elaborate on sour mix. Suggestion ?

Hmm. When we make a sour Old Fashioned here in Wisconsin we use 50/50 soda.

It’s lemon and lime juice with sugar water added. Most often we don’t have sour mix, so I’ll just use lemon juice and lime juice from the bottle (fresh is great though), maybe add tiny amount of sugar. Disarono does not need more sweetness though.
Start with the lemon and lime juice in small quantities add more to preferred tartness.
-
I’ll give it a try this eve

The wife found some of this in Florida of all places.
It has a really strong mesquite flavor. Reminds me of liquid smoke on ribs. Kind of cheating.
Anyway. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190526/6080886d337aac0fd6c70cffe72d27ec.jpg)

Been a min since anyone posted in here and some of you Munchmore seasoned folks can sip on whiskey. Me not so much as I just pass out. But. This is new. Monster energy MULE and the rest is a Moscow mule
(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191227/d81795b04709874cd9ef96725667c483.jpg)
Crushed ice half full in a copper cup, two shots of Vodka, been using Smirnoff blueberry because momma likes it, and 1 squeezed lime, put the peal in the cup also. Fill the rest of the cup up with monster Mule and settle in for a good night of Dave with a Grin!

It is from barton distillery in bardstown, ky.
Its pretty smooth going down, there is not a notable bite in the back of the throat when swallowed, the caramel notes seem to be a little more pronounced.
Costco had it on a special endcap for $20.....i figured why not? Guess ill go back in a day or 2 and get another bottle to add to the collection.
-
Ah they even tried to make the paper seal seem oldish
I wish our Costco sold liquor

Looks pretty good there Nate. Speaking of costco/liquor, I'm back in 2006 now with heading to liquor stores rather than buying from the grocery store/costco. although i can't say i'm mad about it; a 5th of Milagro silver tequila used to cost me $40 w/ all the BS taxes WA put on them. here they are $25!
-
Found something new this afternoon.... :beercheers: :beercheers:

Based on your lack of taste buds evident by the Costco coffee sitting there I'd better take the two bookends off your hands. The 1792 is darn fine hooch. the Basil I've only dreamed of sampling thus far.
-
that coffee is better than folgers, starbucks and many others....lol

I drink some Costco quoffee as well...
But I'm a pilot
We are known to drink about anything
and no, Jet-A does not cause a nasty hangover!

Had to come up with a passable excuse to force the surrender of the hooch. I knew the pretense was false, but like our government, I only needed a few to believe it for the mission to be successful. I retract my slanderous statements.

Don’t tuck tail Tate!!! Tell him how you really feel, that that Costco sludge is just Darjeeling tea with some mouse droppings ground up in it for color and bite. I’m behind you all the way.

Thanks for the cover fire Dave;-) Peet's organic Sumatra dark roast, ground right before I make it, and filtered water, pinch of kosher salt. Alton Brown ruined me for regular coffee... ever.

I avoid high end coffee. Wife has taken aver a huge part of the counter for her coffee stuff. Me, McD is just fine as well as the price.
Haven't had a good "hit" of anything for sometime now. Mostly just hardtea and marg.
-
I’m on the McD train too.
I do however have an espresso stovetop thingy on my wish list for Christmas.
I was spoiled on a cruse with some crazy Italian machine in our suite.
It was deadly good.
In the other side. Me not so much into the bourbons these days.
Somehow my pallet for beer has evolved to where the ‘man bun’ group would be.
Craft beers and strong IPA’s is the go to at the moment.
-
I don't drink bourbon, but I collect it!
Being from Kentucky and all that...
I do drink coffee
I think McD's makes a pretty good cup for a buck.
I'd like to say I brew my own, but, naw, I just drop a little plastic cup thing into my brewer and enjoy a fresh cup in a moment
The cup things came from COSTCO
-
Yep I use the pacific bold pods from Costco but when I treat myself I brew black rifle coffee.

She had 16 personalities, this sounds more like "Legion" and should be cast into the pigs as well
sounds like the 1st time i dropped big $$ on a scotch and got Laphroaig. poured it and let it breath and when i came back i thought someone had ashed their cigarette into my drink.

I have 2 new ones i am trying this evening.
Both are pretty smooth.
