Old Fashioned Service Is Alive (re-posted)

(1/1)

TexasRedNeck:
When I bought my dually 2 1/2 years ago I had the dealer install the B&W Turnball system and the Companion Fifth Wheel hitch.  Its been a great hitch and I really like it.  There is a square post that fits into the gooseneck socket and the Companion slides over it and a single bolt on top torques it vertically and two U bolts affix it to the post.

Inexplicably when I went to remove the hitch last time the single bolt was very stiff and I could not get it out so I pulled the hitch and post together.  Later in the garage I put the impact to it and after much effort it came out with all the threads missing.

I always start it by hand and it was not cross threaded.

I called B&W without much expectation and was pleasantly surprised.

1. A live person answered the phone ( In Kansas, not India)
2. She was intelligent and helpful
3 She was able to help without transferring me
4. I asked her how to go about buying that piece and she said that she would send me a new post and bolt for free.
5. I asked her if I could pay for expedited shipping because I plan to take it out for Thanksgiving and she sent it 2 day fed-ex for free.

As a result, I am a B&W customer for life.  Well done B&W that is a lost and dying art.

So I can't vouch for corporate Christian values as I have not asked or investigated, but they know how to win a customer.

I had a similar experience with B&W... Outcome didn't go my way, which I'm actually fine with, but they were super nice people.

My truck has a turnover ball installed, but it's rusted out. Says lifetime warranty so I called, but it's limited to the original purchaser. I knew that before I called, so I wasn't angry when they wouldn't warranty it, but they were really nice about it :)

I'll buy another, and then a companion when we get our 5ver
