I don't Don couldn't handle the trailer, but do you really need it? The burb will handle it fine too.

Just thinking with 3 of you, nice time of year with the tent and the miles you want to drive the Sub should be fine.

Plus you are adding another fluid change (that's what we call rebuilds here) on top of finishing the sub.

JR, they can take out the valves in the right condition... like down highway at high rpms. I've had 4 of those and the first one ('97) busted like that, on my daughter also. When they snap on start up they tend to not bend them.
Not sure who came up with the"non interference" list, but I've seen some other brands do that also.
.. I'd use an Aisan water pump if you don't want to do it again in 20k miles.

She was at the end on our street about to stop, hopefully were good. That is the kit I got from summit! Looks like someone is watching over us.

My o6 has 165 on it now, runs great with a new PPEI tune, just have to get the TCM in it now.

Met a guy this weekend at the Estate sale. Had an 02 with 65k on it.

1 of those quick setup tents and you are GTG. Trailers are for staying somewhere for a few days or hauling something. Sounds like this first trip is a "travel trip". Get a motel every few days to shower (or use a knuckleheads) and you are set.

That looks like SD before he painted it!!

I would not go with a trailer. You want to travel, not just camp. There will be 3 of you right? 1 in the back, 2 up top keep it simple and light. Easier to drive, better mileage and no backing issues.

If it becomes a camping vehicle, go with a trailer. Haul it out, drop it and you still have rig to run and a base camp.

Funny thing is I saw a 1011 on CL out here setup like that. Soft top with those camping bunk-beds and still plenty of room for a chair and fans.

Looks like a hoot, been 50 years since I have been on one!

Got that Camry 1/2 torn down. It is the timing belt and a none interference engine. Good time to address the oil leak in that area.

She wants to drive the el camino, not yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Yeah, some pics would be nice. You know, no pics and it didn't happen.

Nice FA kit, was it about $150?

You do like getting things messy don't you. Bet a few words flew as the blood ran down your arms.

Camry I got for the daughter stopped today, just a bang and it died. Pretty sure it is the timing belt since I had already bought everything for that as it has 158k on it.

Was at a good spot though at the end of our street, AAA coming to get it now since it is raining and dark.

Do a compression check on it Sun and go from there,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Jr.  Did someone just steal mat the silver or did you get a low ball offer and take the offer?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nope, someone took the whole thing. Nice wood case, flip up top with 2 drawers and padded slots for all the silverware.

Today was busy for a few hours. Mostly furniture now and the fridge, will try just Sat next week.

Had an Estate sale today, kicked my but! Made some good coin but got ripped off too for a silver dinning set.

USO fund raiser at sons school after that. $100 for 4 tickets, then I bought 12 cup cakes at auction for $90.

I still have a pelican that went through a garage fire in 06. Scorched as you know what, but the $1000 transmitter was just fine and had to cut it open with a sawsall.

Maybe start with one of those new HF cases? Hard to go wrong for $40 and you always get a pelican later?

You know, I have been using an Intex twin for camping for a couple years now. Just the cheap one, 7.97 at wally and has served me well. Wider than the sleeping bag, not too thick and I sleep great on it.

I use a cheap 12v pump, but have a bigger one with pump built in that is nice. For $8 you can get a few.

JR, our lot has at least 3 burbs like that. If you need something I’ll go get it for you.... including doors.

You know, I could use a couple roof bows. I have 1 but looks like I will need 3 so I can DIY the thing.

Ordered a ORD steering box brace and the plates. My frame is fine from what I can see but I about to bolt some heavy stuff on there.

Will just mount the outer plate and the brace. Already has a high steer arm on the knuckle, hopefully that is enough with the new springs and a new steering stabilizer as the stock one is leaking because someone jacked the axle up with it!!

Are you upgrading the front DS at all? For the Cognito lift I want they say a new one is needed with a CV.

Thinking I will just have a CV added to the stock, hopefully about 1/2 the price.

What size is you front swaybar?

On the tranny, go for it. Installed a few with no issues. Warning is CYA like telling you what end the gun shoots from,,,,,,,,,,

Looking a little more at the door I thing it will be OK. Has one real pocket to fill but the rest is real only a skim coat probably 1/8 at the most.

Addressing the coolers too. This has an Oil Cooler but is the tube style, plumbed bad and retains oil during a change.

Will swap out that for a 11x8x1.25 plate cooler (same size) and redo the lines for a straight shot forward, not near the exhaust.

Only thing I don't like about the palmetto uppers is almost all are 1/7 twist. That's better for heavier rounds, 55gr may tumble some, but that is not set in stone.

My latest is 1/8, but most are 1/9 that favor the 55gr more.

Good luck on your build, pretty easy compared to what we do around here all the time.

Don, I vote for just the shackle flip right now when you do the axle. Cheaper than new springs, avoids axle wrap and they are settled.

Keep it simple unless you have more time. New longer springs means both mounts.

Alaska, that is a trip I have always wanted to do. Once the boys are out off HS, I will!

Don, I thought you were a little younger than that. I turn 61 in June, feel pretty darn good too but I need to get in shape. Keeping up wit those scouts is a job.

Yep, looking at the damage from the pins I think I will get some holes from them. Half of them pulled off when pulling. Bad part is still about 3/8 deep.

A skin would be better, but a door is probably in the future. It has a few pins left on it now and I threw a coat of primer on it for now.

Tomorrow I am going to cut the spring hangers off.

Build Threads / Re: Spartan part 2, Suburban build.

The new springs have 3in more arch than what looks like 4in lift springs. Sure they will settle some but I like the look right now. Will probably be a little stiffer.

Tried a little body work on the drivers rear door. Pulled out a lot of it using the HF stud tool, but still not really that good. Still has a couple pockets that are not pulling out and you cannot get behind it. No repair panels are out there for this and china doors (poor quality) are $400. Will play with it a little more, skim it with bondo and see how it holds up. Can always get a scrap yard door.

6043
Shipping is around $200, plus 9% sales tax.

Everyone looks to be priced the same at $1691. Find a sale, get free shipping, no tax. Now that's a deal!

6044
I doubt they would care about little ol me, plus shipping and tax. Nice idea though.

Finally got the truck tuned again using PPEI who helped me through a V2 issue. Now I need to get the TCM done.

Isn't that what a new civi one runs anyway?

6050
You guys are going to love this. As good as it sounds and even with the parts I have gotten, I have decided to put a standard IFS lift on. With what has gone on in the last few months I think I jumped the gun a little fast on the SAS. It sounded cool and would be, but with Spartan still going, house selling, regular dad things, Scouts and looking for land, I can't afford the dmax down for a month or so.

So, I am looking at the Cognito 4-6 lift again. I have the Cognito upper arms and new bearing hubs. Still have the 9.25 IFS housing with 4.56 gears.

So I will gather the rest of the parts as I get Spartan going. Build the front axle and have everything ready for when I do it.
