Been waiting 2 weeks for the water company to change out my meter so I could figure out the termination point of my new line. I thought they were going to relocate it.

They showed up at 11am, shut the water off, changed the meter out (1"), then wouldn't connect it back to the existing line because it was 3/4", which they knew about all along. Didn't communicate with me. I was pretty teed to say the least.

I went ahead and finished running the new pipe about 50', with a couple bibs.
Took 4 hours in 113* heat, but now I have plenty of water.
Yes, this is just a rant.

This in the circle is supposed to be where the arrow is. Spinning in a circle like a saw blade. Also the rear main seal in the engine is leaking oil like a sieve. Silage season is over. Its not really but it is for us.

Its wore out and came apart. But that's not all. The main seal in the engine starting leaking. It lost a gallon of oil in a couple hours of running and the head gasket is going out. So we have to fix the head and probably go through the engine. If they have to pull the pan and the head just as well do rods and mains.

Roger that!

But for the car/toy/truck thing it is, its flippin great!

Drove a short loop and tested mileage. 19 overall with a section of 50 mph country roads showed 22mpg.

The power and way the 9-speed works with the engine is the best part.

Girls truck: check

But a nice one

I have actually waited a long time for birkenstock to come out with a simple design like this.  I dont like the double strap over the top of the foot or the ones that have the huge strap running right up the middle of the foot.

I have actually been to the birkenstock factory when i was stationed in germany, it was a pretty cool place.

And for somebody who has flat flat feet from years and thousands of miles of being beaten to crap in poor lowest bidder footgear and whos back is starting to scream from the same abuse......these have been recommended by countless podiatrists......and in the 3 hours that i have had them on my feet cooking in the kitchen, my feet dogs are not howling at me and my back is not killing me.  As of 3 hours in, i am very very happy with this purchase!

We had a mechanic come look at it. Its going to have to be pulled. I think we can pull it out in our shop then send it out to get overhauled but that's up to the boss. See what he wants to do.

Well boys. Tomorrow marks the end of a trip I’d rather forget.

We leave Memphis to head back home from in laws. CIEMR wouldn’t be enough to explain it all.

MIL admitted to nursing home against her will while suffering from dementia

SIL (living at home at 47) is a full blown alky/druggy with mental problems. Blames everyone else for her plight. Parents bought into it and thus the enablement for 30 years

FIL is not a man. He can’t summon the courage to do what has to be done and tell his daughter to either shape up or get out. Is distraught because “he doesn’t know what to do”

I held my tongue and was able to just be there for moral support for the wife.

It’s a sad situation that is only going to get worse. I predict SIL dead in 12 months or less.

This is the upstairs game room where SIL hangs out. Parents haven’t been able to climb stairs for years. He knows it’s a pig stye but again, won’t do anything about it.

I’m glad I didn’t let her go by herself.

That situation is staging base for a bigger disaster.

I hate to say it but I can relate. My brother in-law is a burned-out drug and alcohol user and has been in and out of prison. My mother in-law has always bonded him out, paid lawyer fee, bought cars or paid for anything her now 60 year old son has wanted. My father in-law is about the same as yours. Father in-law is almost blind and can't get around well and is scared of the son, mother in-law has back and heart problems and is still working at 80 to pay for this dirt bag way of life. We have even had to help the in-laws out financially because the mother in-law has given him so much money. Sorry for venting.

I'm with Don but don't want to be in either of our shoes.

Our oldest grandson is a senior in high school this year and is planning on playing football and basketball qhich he has played for years. The school has moved up Senior night and will have it the first football game of the season which is tonight because of fear of covid. Strange how time passes and you can remember events like they just happen. I can remember holding him in the hospital when he was born, teaching him how to shoot, him telling me about him be saved, him running water and slowly walking back with the wife at our 5 k just so many wonderful memories of that made him the man he is today.

His plans are to go to college and become an engineer and if puts as much effort into that as he has everything else he has tackled I now he will do well.

My wife’s brother is similar. Her mom follows suit but unlike you folks my father in law is a mean ol drunk who straight up took all the money and locked it up so she has no way to pay for the stupid boys things.  At one point he was driving a brand new dodge 3/4 ton and her and husband had a 98 accord with no hood.  She made every payment

While the ol man might drink a bit much he at least handles his bills

How cool! Hey, I love those friday night games and the bad concession stand food. If I were there, I'd go to the game with ya. My pre-ranger plays both offence and defense, loves being a running back. I love watching him play. First game coming up...

Its 14ft tall and probably 10 or more wide. Never measured the width. The owner said they used it to pull semi truck engines.

Shawn that’s firepit weather!

Building some lowers tonight.  Hung fans and then cut up a big white oak that got blown over.  Got 3 good sections that are 11-12ft each. Gonna make some awesome firewood.

Good, I have some wasp nests to knock down anyhow. Little buggers keep coming back, don’t think the raid is working very well anymore.
Use brake clean. You have to get closer but kills on impact.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Snow can’t come soon enough. Smoke is thick outside this afternoon, worked in the shop this morning for awhile until around noon and it hit the 90’s came home and ash started falling here locally. Some who have lived here for a long time are saying this is worst they can recall.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..
