Picked this up yesterday for 650 bucks. Odometer sais 130,000 miles but it dont work so who knows what it has. I found a list of repairs done at 109K in the glove box but the date is 2001 (ball joints, wheel bearing, brakes, fuel pump,etc) so I hope its not too much past that. Im thinking add a 4 inch lift and some bigger tires. Sand it down a little bit and shoot it flat black. No rust repair just leave it. The rust is not horrible and wont show that bad through flat black. The interior is really what sold me. Its near perfect. If someone takes the time to keep it that clean than I think they would take care of it mechanically also.

1/2 ton 350ci 700r4 is my bet. good rig. Check the rear wheel seal; axles act as the inner bearing race on these and the seals just leak over time. I have them for a song if you need them.

6.2s would have a hood emblem that said such.. don't see one visible. drop a few cylinders and cubic inches and that gets my vote  ;D

Only if you despise having the ability to pass someone at will. lol

That being said, I work on a late 80s version with a dealer installed banks turbo, and it has 350k....not bad on a half ton that towed a trailer for the first 200k. She leaks, has next to zero compression, and on it's second injection pump, but still gets up and moves about every day.

That thing, a 2wd Burb, GMC I think has been sitting there for years...

5 lug wheels, basically nothing to work with save the engine, trans, and body

Looks like a 6 lug so maybe a 4x4. Can't really tell is it has auto hubs as the front rear look the same. I has the tow hook cut outs so should be a 4x4.

Blue interior, thats good. Can't be a diesel with the 6 lugs and more than likely the 700 tranny.

It has 350 with 700r4. 4x4.  Rear brakes don't work and the Windows don't roll down so I have to figure that out. Otherwise Its a pretty solid beast.
I had to dip I to vacation money to scoop It up but I think its well worth it. Wife even liked it.

When did they stop putting them in the 1/2 tons? I thought that it was 92, when they went to the 6.5.

Watch the rear. Even the 1/2 ton will blow that 8.5 easy enough. Dropping a 9.5 in mine for the flip as the stocker is blown and converting all to the 14mm lugs.

Need to get mine done now. They called to schedule my surgery yesterday which will put me out foe several weeks.

There is a whine in the Rear end. I didn't think much of it. Its full of oil. I have a 80 3/4 ton sitting behind the shop. Its a different project that I never started. That one might get scrapped and the axles find their way under the suburban.

If I recall correctly they are different lengths however you could always move the mounts....

I had to cut the pads off for new ones. Think it has a larger universal too, but they have adapters for that. You may have to shorten the shaft too.

The 9.5 tend to be very good. Same used on the front axles of many rams now.

I dragged these home to body and engine/trans swap.  The one with the good body has a running straight 6 with a 4 speed. But if I can pull the 3/4 ton axles out and get this stance on the burb with out a lift that would be awesome.

Its times like this I really hate adult ADHD.
