A plug for a book- 5 Acres and Independance

(1/2) > >>

Wilbur:
So with the global and domestic situation being what it is, I find I am revisiting books I had read before to try to reiterate lessons I know/should know better. And this book is one I think deserves a place in everyone's library for preparedness. This is a book that was written originally in 1935 when all the US was in a much more agriculture based system. And while my true plan involves about 50 acres or more of land, the author shows how you can make enough to sustain a family on 5 acres.

The other thing I like is that he covers so much more than just how to grow food. From water improvements to putting in septic systems and far far more. Moreover its $8 on Amazon. AND its a book that you will have on your shelf to refer to if the grid goes dark. I highly recommend it.

Let me know what you think when you get it. I hope you find it helpful.

I ordered as well.  A couple of other staples are "where there is no doctor" and "where there is no dentist"  Most people take oral health for granted.  A bad abscess can be life threatening too.

And WMD or maybe it's out on Amazon, but there is a book about combat surgery, or emergency surgery, or... I've seen it in reviews and wanted to score a hard back copy, but didn't, but heard it's good
