Easy Shrimp
« on: August 01, 2015, 06:43:53 PM »
Start with either chilled or frozen shrimp, 1-5 pounds
I prefer the peel and eat type because the work at the dinner table makes for a more lively meal experience.

1-5 lb. Shrimp
Old Bay seasoning
Garlic cloves
Fresh corn on the cob
Red potatoes

half or quarter the potatoes. I use small ones
Divide the corn cob into thirds
Lay out a 12" piece of aluminum foil
Add Corn, about 10 shrimp, 1 potato and one smashed garlic clive together on the foil. Sprinkle liberly with Old Bay Seasoning

Fold the foil in around the contents to seal it somewhat. Sometimes a double wrap is called for

On a hot grill place the foil packets down about the same time you lay out your burgers. Cooking time is similar. The heat creates a steam environment in the packet which cooks everything pretty quickly.

Pull the burgers and foil packets off the grill the same time. poke a hole in the bottom of the foil and allow to drain. Unfold the packet and enjoy. I have also added brussel sprouts or broccoli to the packet with great results.

Even though I don't eat corn on the cob very often, that does look like a packet of tastiness.

Normally I butter it all up, but tonight just the old bay and fire. Was tasty, and healthy!

looks really tasty there don.  it has been a while since I have seen somebody make a hobo meal especially one with shrimp.  I think I may do something like that here in the near future.

That's almost a perfect meal to throw on a firepit on those nights you really don't want to use the kitchen or you are at the farm.

Yessir!
Next time I am going to substitute in chicken chunks. Pre make it and throw it in the cooler, then fire up the fire pit about sundown

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
