Title: New Computer virus just in time for Christmas!
Post by: Flyin6 on December 07, 2015, 07:02:44 PM
VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

Feel this worth passing along. With the  holidays coming up, this could be a
 real problem.

The newest virus circulating is the UPS/Fed Ex/USPS Delivery  Failure.

You will receive an e-mail from UPS, Fed Ex, or  USPS along with a packet
 number.

It will say that they were  unable to deliver a package sent to you on
 such-and-such a date.

It  then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached.

DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!

Pass this warning on to all your PC  operators at work and home.

This virus has  caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few days.

Snopes confirms that it is real.

Yeah, my wife almost fell prey to that last year....fortunately she drives a Mac so no issues. (I gave her one after she used to get all virused up with PCs)

So Kyle and I were chatting and here is something I've learned to do more and more.  ( may be old hat for you young'ins)

If you open an email and go to the properties, look at the "internet headers" section and sort through all the gobbly gook.

It is easy to spoof a return address for an email client but the domain name will be in the internet heading details and you can see where it originated.
