Lets play a game!
« on: August 03, 2016, 12:38:56 PM »
Who can tell me what is wrong with this picture?!

Is this a common issue?

Who has had this issue before?

Is that a grease fitting just kinda sitting there? I'm can't tell, I have a pretty bad glare on the screen at work.

Or a brake line fitting?

And

Is the rubber bushing torn away from the collar?

Is that a whatchamcallit that's supposed to be connected to that metal part that does the thing?

I wouldn't worry about the pin as much as that worn out bushing. It's letting the a-arm bang forward, striking the pin.

Yikes! That A-arm bushing is shot!
Like Ken said, it's allowing the arm to move and hence has removed your camber pin.
Not a biggie until it's alignment time, and they'll be able to smash it back in.
The slopping around will wreak havoc (over time) on the front end bits and at least that tire.

Just lol'd at the unintended accuracy of Bobbys post.

I don't think he arms are that bad to buy from the stealer.
Then it's a simple (for the alignment guy) change out and realign.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Looks like a popped rivet just wedged in there. I would say a rubber stop, but it has shinny spots and rust.

Maybe moving that A arm in a non desired way.

Wait a minute...I think I still have mine. I installed the Cognito arms when the truck was nearly new. If mine are the same as Nate's year, I could just ship him my old ones

so yesterday I went to les schwab to get a tire rotation, and I asked that when they got the tire off if I could take a look at what was going on in the drivers side wheel well.  well that was the first thing that I saw, and yes ken hit the nail on the head.  it is the cam pin on the rear attachment.  then to top all of that off, my suspicions were confirmed as to the wearing out of the rest of the components.

so as I was going back thru my records, it has litteraly been 3 years since I put all new stuff on the front.  well unfortunately I cant find the receipt from when I bought the whole upper control arms.  So now I am at the point of complete front end work again as well as a complete brake job front and rear.  as far as the brakes go, I am almost positive that it has been close to 7+ years since I did a complete brake job (I think that's pretty good?).

so I will take a few days and figure out what direction I will be going in as I have had some MAJOR life situations (of the negative flavor) happen in the last 2-3 weeks.
