There are billboards up saying in Kali we pay and average of $1.08 more per gallon than the countries average.
All those stupid social programs and handouts come at a cost...

Not to mentioned Gavin Newsome signed a law into effect that allows the judges to recognize MAP, Minor Attracted Persons as a sexual orientation for adults who have sex with kids as long as they are 14 years old and the sex is “consensual”.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Wow, this is dragging out, but finally got it done today.

Replaced the broken cable with a bike chain. Welded to pin, uses a master on the lever.

All the metal around the edge is new, made it a bit hefty! Now the wood is supported by the angle iron. Got it all painted up.

Frame was just over 48 wide, lets ply sheets lay in there just right. However the new deck was about 1/16+ wide and would not go in without major effort. Broke out the planer and made adjustments. Also beveled the edges to clear the angle iron corners. Went on fine then and I got all new SS hardware to fasten down.

Also had to trim the slot for the pin as the assm ended up about 1/4 longer with the new rim..

Got it mounted up, then realized I forgot the handles

Still thinking on how to attach the carpet on the edges. End will get a metal plate with grip tape to protect the wood.

Soon the spare will go under the back too. Have to push the rear bumper back a tad for it since I have a 6' box.

Just need to glue the carpet down now, but that will wait until after this weekend trip.

Rubber backed outdoor carpet, two grab handles (3/8 rebar) and nice piece of trim on the rear cap. Paint wasnt even dry and I scrapped it all up. Fits great so just a few crews will hold it solid.

Loaded it up this weekend and headed to the ridge. Was sitting at 19.7mpg when I got home, 65-70 average.

Slide performed perfect, just a tad snug on the tailgate is all, but a few screws should remedy that.

Thinking about getting the edge trim powder coated? Tuff but on there really good!

BedSlide is working awesome, still worth every penny after 2 rebuilds.

Think I found the parasitic draw on the battery. You could here the CD player running after the truck was shut off. Removed the CDs, now it seems good but time will tell. Maybe I should clean some grounds since most have not been touched in 17 years now.

Been a few months since I posted on this.

So far the solar panel has handles the drain fine. I don't drive as much since getting the Tahoe, but still a great toe rig!

I was getting a low fuel rail pressure. Only happened when low on fuel or towing hard. Pressures looked good. Found my carter lift pump was not working, hope thats is. Not hard to replace but needed to open up the inlet/outlet after buying the new pump ($60) found the correct pump with 3/8 npt for $70. One I got was a lift pump for a cummings and I like the plug on it vs the screws and eyelets.

Found my rear spring bushings are shot. I had found them for $80, now there all $110, this is nuts but need to do them. Air bags will go in the same time in the next week or so. Need to drag the TH to the ridge getting out of kali and having a nice place to sleep won't hurt.

Removed the dash cam, no more battery drain issues. Can't believe that little bugger did that. It did have a screen on though.

Time to smog this thing again for Kali registration. Replaced 4,5 and 7 glow plugs that had been showing bad for some time. Never a start issue though. What a chore for the #4. I had to pull the fender liner, cooler tube and it was still behind the steering shaft. Aftermarket GP and the 5 and 7 wire studs broke off. Not really tight at all, just snug. Thankfully I got 8 of them.

They plug in and looks for codes, but my setup locks the ECM. Funny it lets the EDGE read and clear codes? So a few months back I got a 2nd ECM for it, same year and code. Was told it was as simple as plugging it in, let it cycle 3 times and it would marry to the truck. Will save me a dealer flash if so.

Swapped the ECMs today. Did a relearn and it runs fine. Had to clear a few codes but none now. After the visit to the station, DSP ecm will go back in. This will be a backup alone with the TCM I got with it.

Had to get this this smogged again. The used ecm worked fine but I failed on larger turbo pipe and PCV being rerouted. Both had been that way for 15 years. Glad he didn't see the water injection nozzle!(orange)

Carb EO for the pipe was easy, just a pain. Then I made the fitting on the left to put the PCV back to stock  (yellow) That hose just runs down the wiring harness to the frame where the fumes vent, vs back into the intake (pre turbo)
