Front locker on IFS (specifically Don's CMax)

(1/4) > >>

OVERWATCH_09:
My extensive knowledge with front IFS 4 wheel drive is limited mostly to 1500s.  My 02 Avy ripped through 13 different half CVs, some of those due to my custom fabricated suspension lift.  Once those problems were remedied, I only went through another 2 or 3 joints, but all due to extreme stress while spinning.

I knew some guys who welded the spider gears on 1500 front IFS and it tore through the aluminum housing like it was paper-mache.  Do you have the same worries with the LML front IFS?

KensAuto:
OW, you think Don has even had his in 4wd? seriously? :)

OVERWATCH_09:
Hhhmmm, you bring up a good point.   Don, we're gonna need some offroad picture proof PDQ por favor.

Dustoff35:
He did put it in 4WD when he picked up his trailer at my place one day last spring.  Flat terrain, dew on the grass, a little wheel spin at the rear, he promptly placed it in 4WD and showed that tall fescue who was Boss!

Dustoff35:
Sadly, I do not have photographic evidence...
