Nate, How big or what is the capacity of your current SATA drives? Are you wanting to connect to Windows or MAC PC? Most of these enclosures have issues with MAC OS X. TRN's option looks pretty good for what it is worth but read the negative reviews.

Also not sure how technical you are but troubleshooting can be a pain and you don't want to spend hours on with D Link tech support.

Do you just want external storage connected to one PC or do you want it available to multiple devices over your home network / wifi? If you just want external storage attached to one PC it might be better to just put the $100.00 towards a USB external drive. The one might have more capacity our of the gate than the two SATA drives you currently have. Also if you buy a SSD drive it is much faster than SATA.

Here is two 128GB Thumbdrives for $79.00. That is 256GB of fast storage that works with any PC.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA12K3JV3958

This one is a Solid State.... Fast 500GB that just works for $200.00.
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147512&cm_re=external_ssd-_-20-147-512-_-Product

Sorry... more questions than help.

My family and I will thinking and thanking all that served and paid the ultimate price for us. We also thank you that felt the call and served your country in any manner. I grew up in the Vietnam era and was just too young for draft and then didn't enlist when I was old enough. A shameful period for many non military citizens of the USA.

Not that I would know but I hope it is much better today but still not enough.

Thank you all.

While it will take years to stomp out the extremists among us we have to do it. Fortunately we have someone in the WH who it appears is empowering the FBI & DHS to do their jobs, not act as PC contortionists.
Yes we do

But the stop-gap measure will always be our God given sense of freedom and common sense.

When the snake appears and legitimate forces do nothing to alleviate the threat to us all, then we will step up and do their jobs for them.

We will not be threatened by this fringe group of hatred which seems to come out of one religious sect.

They are making Muslims look bad. Personally, I want to see Islam step up and cut this cancer out of their bowels themselves. But if they don't, then we will.

Don, I'm afraid they are just uncloaking what is within a great majority of Muslims. They have no desire to integrate or have any respect for any religion other than Islam. The great majority of Muslims feel that Islam is the only religion and all others are kuffars. It is a systematic approach to take over they are on track for 100 of years. Long game to them.

We allow them to work openly without reservation. I live close to several Somalia zones. Pretty soon they will be no go zones. Go to the DMV or any Gov office. Looks like a BeautyRest convention..

This might be overkill but I used to have a 20' Tiderunner that we would take out on the Sound when I lived in Tacoma. I would throw in my dry suit (not wet suit) when we would go out just in case it turned really nasty or god forbid I had to get in the 45-50 degree water. The only time I put it on other than water skiing was when I was out and it turned really bad and I was having trouble getting through under the Narrows Bridge. I didn't time it very well and the tide was swirls were crazy. I tossed it on and was toasty even though the heavy water spray was coming on board. The other passenger wasn't so lucky and huddled under the canvas cabin.

The boat was solid and I didn't have any fear of sinking, just miserable.

Not sure what radio you have but that is one other thing I would add. Long range antenna with good marine band so you can call for help if needed. I had one mounted in the boat.

Spot light... so you could make your way back...

Could be a lot more depending how far off shore or away from home you plan on going.

Nice boat by the way!

Bear. I have a Kubota BX25 and bought a plow with a hydro arm it to move he angle left or right with he stick. I move the FEL arms up and down and then the angle all with the main stick.  Works great and you never have to get out of the seat. You just have to make sure when hooking up the plow after taking the FEL bucket off that he bucket tilt ram is it the right position so the blade is upright. Then it doesn't move while plowing.

Works slick. I can pile up the snow pretty high.

Bobby, Do you have the model # or specs? Do you have USB port? If the operating system allows for multiple drives you could just add a external hard drive.

I have this one and it is powered via the USB cable. 512Gb would be a good expansion. The key would be if your unit can power it and recognize the second external drive.

Finally pulled the trigger on the scope. It is a Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16x50.

I don't have a rifle vise so had to jury rig up kinda one. Trying to keep everything level.

I think it is a level as I can get it after tightening it all down. Good eye relief and nice cheek weld height.

I'll have to bore sight first and then now that it getting nicer get out and SHOOT.

Quick question. Do you guys loctite your scope ring bolts?

All done and back to the Safe. Had to modify the lense cover that came with it. Too tight on the front to rail. I also have to go back this morning and swap out the high rings to extra high rings so I would have front clearance.

Funny you mentioned that. We had USAA for insurance for many years. After the whole Wells Fargo opening bogus accounts debacle we closed all of our Wells Fargo checking and savings accounts and moved them to USAA.

Now the only thing I have is my self directed 401K and Mortgage with WF. The Mortgage was sold to WF much to my disappointment but what can you do?

The only thing I don't like about USAA is you can't get any cash other than the limit on ATM's since they have no offices. Plus their online bill pay is wonky. If you pay a bill via their service it doesn't show as pending or anything until the receiving party cashes the check. So you have to keep track how much you have written and what has been cashed to really know your balance. They should just show it on your checking register and deduct the amounts from your balance since they have all the needed info.

Well my 2cts...

Negative sir. Just random pondering.

Tell us more about the fixtures you are using in the holes?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought some hold downs and pipe centers from zoro.com just to get started. I also bought some 5/8" rod that I will make posts out of for bending and keeping square.

The holes should be straight enough for what I plan on building. Wife wants wrought iron railing and balustrade for the back deck and Juliet railing on a French door to the second floor outdoors.

I like the mag drill a lot. I haven't put it through its paces but it has tons of power and will drill through pretty much anything. It never moves at all once the mag is engaged.

Excellent info Shawn. For a layout table I might pay that to have the table  perfectly squared and holes perfectly aligned.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ouch... are you saying my holes are all wonky?? LOL... I'm sure they are not laser like... but close enough for the girls I go out with and for holding down metal. Heck you should see my welding!

Like Sean says.. my labor rate is very low commensurate with my skill level and I have a Mag Drill now.. I plan to use it as a tube notching drill going forward. I have metal blocks that will raise it up and I have cutters the size of tube as well as a normal chuck if I want to use a hole saw type of notcher. So I should be able to hold down the pipe, create the angle easy and then notch using the Mag Drill with cutter or hole saw. We will see but that's the idea anyway. I shouldn't have to buy a notcher.

D.O.T. / Re: WDYDT (What Did You Do Today)

Honestly it would have only taken one annular cutter if I didn't pooch one up. In two of the rows it was aligned right over the frame cross brace. So when it cut through the 1/2" table top I tried to just keep going though the cross member. The problem was the table top plug got wedged inside the cutter when it was going through the cross member and snapped it.

If not for that it would have cut all the holes. $25.00 cutter. Not too bad. Plus the second cutter cut probably cut 110 of the holes. Still going strong.

Just took time.

Stewie. There is a way to tie any laces where they won't come undone. When you are putting the bow end through and then normal pull to tighten. Wrap a second wrap through where you did the first loop and then pull tight. They won't come loose and you can pull the tails like normal to untie them.

Ken. I didn't tell you I'm 3 feet tall. Lol

TR. very much a change from my normal I.T. Desk job.

Still have a lot to do.

This is my plan. It will have another row of stringers about 6" up from the bottom of leg post.  That will make it solid. I also have heavy duty locking casters and some heavy bolts that I will make for leg height adjustment. Should have about 1.5" of travel so I can make any concrete floor level. That's the hope anyway.

I'll create plates for the bottom of leg and drill 1" hole for bolt. Then weld nut and washer on inside before I weld plate on bottom of leg.  Then I will cut another plate and weld bolt head to it. Then I will weld caster to it.  That should give me adjustment at each corner and should be nice and stout. See simple!  If only I can keep everything square and level while welding up.

Once I get the base and top plate connected (I'm using 12M x 30mm countersunk fine thread bolts for attaching top to base) I will lay out grid of 5/8" (16mm) holes to use as hold down points similar to strong hand type of tables.

Then I will also make the center of the table have a radius style of hold down holes pre set for angles. I can't find the design right now but will post when I find it.

Also 4th of July weekend I set up the lighting for the area.  I have one stubborn fixture but will tackle that when I have time.

More to come.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Day 2 of welding table work

Cut all of the cross bracing and put an angle on all ends for weld up.

Then fitted them in and tack welded.

Once they were all tacked I welded all that I could reach. The vertical welds were a challenge that I need more practice on. I tried uphill and downhill. Downhill seemed to work better.

Then I started cutting plates for bottom of legs that the adjustment bolts would go through. Started using hand band saw. Very slow. Then tried abrasive cut off wheel. Once again a major disappointment. Then tried Hypertherm 45. First time I have used it and found out I don't have big enough compressor and couldn't get the pressure up and then it would pop circuit. So took out ole trusty oxy axe but too ragged on 1/2" plate. (Probably my lack of practice). Soooo back to portable band saw.

And see Ken. I did get to use the table even when it was upside down.

Cut the leg plates and welded the bolts.

Flipped them over and tacked them onto the legs. Then cut plates to weld bolt heads and casters to plate.

It is welded up from bottom. I still need to clean up welds and then drill indexing holes from the rail to the table top so once flipped over I can enlarge and tap the hole for the countersunk bolts for hold down.

I will also prime and paint the bottom of the stand before I flip it over.

Getting closer.  All day soccer today so on hold for now.

Day 3 after a day of State Soccer championship.

First I grind off all of the sharp corners from all of the plate I cut.

Then I wipe down with alcohol and then spray the bottom areas with primer. That way I don't have to try to reach underneath when it is flipped over.

The. I painted the underside.

Then I used the Kubota to finally flip the thing over on its wheels.

Something looks amiss. It is two inches too tall. Poor planning. Might have to cut down the bolts or remove the lock nut and screw all the way down. We will see.

Then I welded up all of the top seams that I couldn't reach when upside down.

Next comes primer and paint to the entire thing. Ran out of black so I had to have the better half grab three more cans when she was coming back from town.

Ta Da!  All painted up. Ready for top.

I then drilled a hole in each corner that was located over the leg with the mag drill. Cuts like Butta!!best $500.00 that I have spent so far. It will be sweet when I drill all of the 5/8" hold down holes in the top.

Bolted some eye bolts in each holes ready for the chains to lift it up on top.  It was a little sketchy and had the wife worried I was going to hurt the concrete again but managed to get the 465# top located close to where it will be bolted down.

Cleaned everything up and swept the grind dust from the floor.  It gets everywhere. Now sitting cooling off in front of the redneck A/C.

It was hot here also. Close to 90 plus 80% humidity. The evaporator cooler doesn't work super in high humidity but better than nothing.

Time to hit the shower.

Well. After getting PM's and calls and emails.  .... well maybe not, but here is an update on the welding table anyway.

Oh. And spring has kinda arrived. It was finally 50+ degrees in the garage so I didn't have to have the Kero torpedo heater blasting.

Finally got all of the holes drilled using the mag drill.

Yep. 190 holes. Finally found my mag drill counter sink bit so I finished the final half of the 5/8" hole bevels so the hold down slide in easy.

Then I decided to use my new sawblade.com metal chop saw and the Swag Off-road portable bandsaw table.

Built a shelf to put all of my metal stock or scraps.

Used my hold downs and spot welded first.  No fires!

Then welded up no it actually fit. The. Spot welded a plate on top.

Loaded up the metal and it held up.
