What was the GG shot that they gave before going to Desert Storm 1 that gave you a hard softball in you rump for?

Sounds like anthrax, but I got mine in the left arm. The knot got so big, my wife thought I'd grown an additional triceps! LOL

I got the shot at the Ramstein hospital and they told me to sit down and wait for 15 minutes so they could observe me in case there were any problems. I had been forewarned by a friend. I told them no, I’ll stay in the hospital with my shot record in hand so if I passed out or died someone could figure out why. Even with walking around the entire fifteen minutes, I still had a sizable painful lump in my rear, but not what I’ve heard from others.

For all the years I was assigned to the 160th, we had to get the gama goblin shots once every six months. one in each cheek

Can't describe how much I hated getting that, err, those shots.

First time I had it was going to Desert Storm.  A wise 1SG marched us the 2 miles to the gym where we got it and then we marched back.  It helped some.  We got a double that day.

No burn pits, got dengue twice anyway, enjoyed the golf ball GG shot as well, and soaked my clothes in permethrin even with the malaria so I'm sure I'll glow in the dark at some point later in life. too many childhood illnesses to list here but suffice it to say I rarely get colds anymore because I'm pretty sure I was the last to mutate them, ( kinda chuck norrisy there), I got covid in Dec 19, (antibody testing showed positive twice, negative for flu) and I had a fever and vomiting worse than I've had since dengue, but only for 3 days. went to work on the 3rd day because I could stand up and wasn't vomiting and COVID "wasn't in our country yet" and I'm not a sissy. And here I thought missionary work was for the good of those served, but hey, I'm pretty ironclad now! (still would not take that GG shot again if you paid me...)
