Woke up to some good news here in Alabama. A bill proposing chemical castration for child monsters is on the governors desk.

Quote from representative Steve Hurst: “These things are just horrifying. I’d prefer it be surgical, because the way I look at it, if they’re going to mark these children for life, they need to be marked for life," he said. "My preference would be, if someone does a small infant child like that, they need to die. God’s going to deal with them one day.”

That's one I will always support. In fact, I've been saying for years they should all be forced to be in gen-pop and let the inmates exact God's justice.

Not a good day when that happens either in a car or truck. I would think safer in a truck and can also see a lot better.

D-Day recognition.

I thought I would post this on today's remembrance.

This is displayed in the main hallway where I work that belonged to the founder.

Very nice display and recognition of his service and the wonderful man that he was.

Forever grateful.

In other news the light in the loafers gov from Colorado signs a bill decriminalizing possession of mushrooms and other hallucinogenic drugs....
That's gonna improve public safety!

Good recruiting tool for future law enforcement officers (NOT!)

I keep waking up in the same bad dream

In it, idiots have somehow taken over and wossies are running around kickin sand into the faces of good men and women.

Love this!

My dad was the same guy, same era. Flew B-17's. As a kid I wore his hat, same one he wore while twisting steel four miles below him. Just incredible men.

Think about how much we have changed since then.

Could we mount an offense like the one they so willingly did back then?

D-Day, omaha beach, 2,200 Americans killed. One day, 2,200. It took years for the death toll in the Stan to reach those numbers

Just pillar of salt down right courageous men in that day. So honored to be the son of one of them.

Hooked up with another guy headed out west. Now we're stealing parking spots at little America in Wyoming.

Actually we're only using one spot. I'm parked in a goofy corner with no lines painted.

I have stopped there once, and i have driven I80 out that way more times than i would wish upon my enemy....lol

Once you hit evanston, wy. Watch your air, because you are getting into some pretty long and steep hills heading down to the I84 junction.

If i remember correctly, I84 going into ogden has some really nast 5-6% downgrades with some really sharp turns....dave can tell better as he lives right in that area.

If you are going I84 south into slc, i cannot speak on the roads as i have never driven that.

I 84 into slc is pretty simple, I 84 into Ogden from Evanston Wyoming “the 3 sisters” are a good up and down climb.

Shout if you need anything this way.  And it’s windy as the devil tonight here if your traveling.  Be safe and know they shut that road down for high wind

The big hills start outside of green river heading to Evanston. From Evanston to SLC is continued ups and some major downs, Parleys pass outside of park city I think it is, is six lanes for super slow traffic. Some solid turns on hills too in that area.

Only ever pulled a trailer through this area into SLC twice, cargo trailer and a car hauler with the Ramcharger on it. Many other trailerless trips.

We are going to get to Salt Lake and hang out for the day today. Then head out across the salt flats into Nevada Tomorrow. Then go north up to Caldwell Idaho for a week. Then back down through Ogdon and Salt lake on the way home. But we are going to go back through Colorado. To do more sight seeing.

Sounds like a fun trip Jon. Be safe.

Meat is in the fridge in a saltwater brine and the hide is drying.

Here’s a healthy dose a creepy for your Saturday. 7 hours after I cut its head off, and after skinning and processing, the snakes heart was still beating.

Made it to salt lake. Found a steer tire with a bunch of dry rot. It was NOT like that when we left. Side wall was all full of cracks. Date code 5111. I don't know how I missed that. It looked good so I guess it slipped by me. I got it changed as soon as we rolled into town.

Here is the final result of the rattlesnake. I’ll fully admit I had reservations about eating it. When I cut its head off it was still moving around some so my machete landed closer to its head than I intended, pretty close to where the venom glands are. I was afraid that the meat may be contaminated with the venom and didn’t want to risk making anybody sick. After talking to some regular snake eaters I moved back an additional three inches, cut again, rinsed it really well and pressed on. My wife wanted no part of it and I didn’t offer any to the little one just to be safe. The guys at the station however make the perfect guinea pigs. We’re roughly 30 minutes post ingestion and as far as I know we’re all fine. It’s not bad at all, especially dipped in a little yum yum sauce. It’s a lot of work and I’m not sure how many more I’ll cook but, should I need a meal in a place where options are limited I’d cook another one in a heartbeat.

So coming from northern Utah, this is about the first best view of Moab,  the canyons are bright red and the energy of the area is definitely something different from busy city life.   Tourism is a big thing and brings many goofy folks that speed up things that should be slowed way down in my opinion.   But happy to be here.  Group photos to follow
