come home. let dogs out. larger dog kills rooster.

wife pissed, me angry, daughter upset.

lock hens up for night. one laying in run..... something is up.

she dies in my arms a few mins later.

Certainly there are days where you're the bull, some days you're the bullfighter, dodging the horns.

Sorry it happened, but it's all life. It will pass. Not saying don't be disappointed you lost the rooster and a hen. Or not to feel what you're feeling. Just get back on the horse and make it better. Tomorrow is another day.

Some times I look around at what I've seen other local families deal with (kids who have passrd away, serious health issues, etc.)....it reminds me of the many many blessings I do have, in spite of the crappy days and dead chickens. Good luck.

im picking up my 2nd bee hive today that i ordered months ago, so i am a little happier.

it's been a grueling few weeks. We've been under constant strain since we moved here. It's as if the enemy is not happy we are doing what we're doing...

Stewie glad you have that attitude. Know that you're kids are learning alot from not only the difficulties you're dealing with but HOW you're facing them. I know some of the beat times for me were when difficulties reared up and the kids knew it and I/we explained it to them and helped them see that it would be okay. And it was. They learn everything from you and your wife. So when you do succeed and reap the benefits of all your hard work they will see that too and appreciate it all the more. Gotta keep rowing! I know you will.
