Nice looking spot.

I’m tired of snow already. And I’m a snow fan.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

I can handle the snow. It's the ice I hate. I know when I get older I will be a snow bird.

Anyway, took a load of goodies up to the Ridge. Needed more 12 drain, found local for less than 1/2 the price up there!

Got 600' of pump hose, 10 uni-struts I already had for the solar setup, couple RR ties to drop the container on and my table.

Most of the snow here was melted, but the view was great. Mid 50's. Pad is solid with just a little puddle in the center.

Unloading the table was fun, strapped in to the claw of DUG and it balanced on the front wheels. It would just tip when I stopped. Sorta balanced it off the trailer, then set it down real quick. If I was going forward, it was OK until you stopped.

Hardly sank at all in the little mud there was. Going to look at an auger and breaker attachment for DUG tomorrow.

Renting a breaker is around $400 a day, plus getting it, returning it and all. I plan on expanding and still need to get some pretty good rocks reduced. Kub can move it fine, just not break em out.

Auger is obvious, plus been getting some unwanted traffic and am missing at least one steel target.

Ending up getting both a breaker and a auger with 9 and 12 bits. Bought a 12' gate as there seems to be people who cannot read or see the turn around.

Got a boxload of fittings coming in for the tools up there. No quick connect on the hammer and the QC need 90s to work with DUG. All 1/2 JIC so far but I have to check a couple fittings yet.

Got all the fittings but trying to figure this one out. Need a 90 for it since DUGs hydraulics lay flat in the center vs point straight out on the side. If I can find the right parts I would like to convert to side mounts. Be easier to connect to and keep the lines free. It has the holes in the arm for it already

Wouldn’t it be better to keep the lines inside the arms so they don’t get knocked off by a branch or something?

They are a pain to plug in since you can only really grab 1/2 of the QC. Plus the hoses get in the way on getting in/out and seem to get in a pinch area pretty easy.

That darn connection looks like it has an oring, not a JIC or NPT and diff going into the QC too. Thats on the auger which they put 90s on the head.

Ran up with youngest son for the day. Did some work on the drainpipe and put the old bucket on the Kub until I can get the right QA for the K buckets.

Let him run Dug and he had a blast. Saw a couple horses running around, heard a weird yelp like from a banshee or something, neighbor thinks its a wild dogs.

Started snowing really heavy so we left a little early, but was a great little trip.

Found out the fittings are called BSP (british standard pipe) and are kinda pricy. Found them at a hydraulic store in Sparks.

I got two 90s for the quick couplers and was told they threads are really close to regular OL NPT. Ending up getting 6 fittings for $60, not bad really.

The place I got my container at will come move it $95 and hour, includes travel time. Figure 2 hours, 45 up/back and moving it 600ft. Only hitch is only on weekdays, so I need to get up there early enough to clean it out before they come. Left the flatbed up there as I can just load it up with all the stuff. Probably in 2 weeks.

Big thing now is the well pump. Got some water in the tote for cement to put a gate just down form the turn around. Should keep the honest people out.

Good road pretty straight but one small dip then a about 10ft up to the pad. I made just to get big stuff in, then it gets nixed.

Yeah, may be worth it to pay them.  Some pipes or logs under it make it roll pretty easy.  I jacked mine up and put 10ft , 8 inch posts under it and was able to easily push it with the tractor.  Of course I wasn’t moving it that far.

How much do these weigh?   If you short hook a chain won't your skid pick up one end and you can drag it to where you need to go?  Or use the 3pt on the tractor to pick up one end and drag it that way.

It is 10k empty, 40ft HC. Thought about it moving it myself, neighbor offered to help too. But the more I thought about, getting logs, wheels, dragging it. First around a corner, 600ft up the road, then turn around and stick in the corner. I figure for about $200 it is done, not dragged, nothing to buy no headaches. Just level the spot and watch. Figure a few hours to empty it, all but the solar panels and shelving.

So the arch is applying for my permit. I have also found out I have a road impact fee to pay in my area, $4995 one time fee. I just got a 50 cent on the $$ credit from my Credit union for that. They get excess fees paid and can sell them to account holders. Getting closer all the time and a little extra $$ saved is good.

It was all submitted today for approval! $3k for just turning it in, but includes the septic. Sure there will be a tweak or 2, then the final bill.

When the real building starts, I will start part 2. I should be dried in this year at least, finally.

Haven't hired one yet, just got a few leads. Another today. With no permit I didn't want to commit yet. Same on the building, hearing there is about a 4 month wait right now. Long as there are no changes to the main structure, I will order ASAP. Arch said to wait so I am. Under contract for the building so my price is firm.

Got the container moved, what a chore. I removed 5 pallets of stuff from the container and stacked it on the flatbed. Started late thurs, guy showed up mid afternoon friday. Move was simple, but he ran out of fuel! Good thing I had some as he had the road blocked halfway up the hill.

Used the new laser level and it has about a 2in rake towards the front now. Placed about 6' from the north and east sides.

There was a rats nest under it and its friend had died in the cont sometime back. Found the body between the toolbox and a box. Figured it slid between and was trapped in the "V" that had formed. Sure smelled for a couple weeks.

Then putting DUG away, I almost rolled it over backwards. Has about and 8in lip and some wood helped, was a ride though!

Well, so much for having the slab done by the 1st company. They want $24sf,,,,,,,,,,thats 96k just for the cement. My research showed well under $10sf so I sorta planned for that. Still working on it but looks like I will be pouring some footings soon.

Then the building company hit me a 20% (9k) materials fee today when I talked about ordering. Still going over the contract as I see a 90 day price match guarantee, but nothing about this. And they cannot deliver until Aug.

Nope, not april fools either.

That was for doing the whole thing. Then they wanted another 80K to build the shell.

Looks like I will dig out, rebar and pour the footing. With a friend or 2 that is doable for the pour.

Code up there now require foam sheet lining even for shops Then its forms and more rebar. No way i can do the slab pour.

Here is a north, south, east, west picture from the pad as requested. Sure they have all been posted before, but more peace meal vs together.

Here is the newest satellite view that shows the road up to the pad with cont in old location. Pad is close to fully cut.

Here is a view from just above the pad, showing the old cont and the valley.

I got the Anifi last time that has stopped working now. Think its my phone and the phone was hard to see.

I got a used one from a reputable seller and just ordered a cheap 8 inch pad for it. Did research so I got the specs right. This has an awesome camera and 30 min flite times.
