You should be getting a prostate exam every 2 years after age 18. No laughing matter.
Although my PCP and I are friends and he cracks some serious jokes when he’s poking around.

Every 2 years after 28!?!??? I’m 47, I hope I don’t have to get makeup exams.

I know this thread started as a humor, but prostate cancer is serious and it is one of the most curable cancers....IF you catch it early. Don’t avoid recommended preventive screenings. It could cost you your life.

I know it’s serious. I just can’t help using humor to hide my discomfort at times. I had a scare with possible testicular cancer, one of the longest weeks of my life before the surgery and biopsy.

And just as important is the Colonoscopy exams. I am here to tell you if they catch a problem early enough good deal. If not it is hard to get out alive. I think normal is every 5 years, I didn't follow that advice but fortunately a body scan picked the tumor up before it had spread to other areas.

Don't worry about discomfort Dave, it's actually quite comfortable. Just make sure he offers you a smoke and a drink afterwards. :)

I bring my own mood music to the appt.

Glad to hear Bob. As a Crohn’s patient I get them often. Just got the test results today. All good.
And I don’t have any awkwardness about a young female physician ramming me with a camera. One hit of propofol and I’m out in 3 seconds.
