This is a true statement

What did it cost ya?

410..

Dave #2, that's what I'm doing. A 5 ton and a 4 ton, roof mounted heat pumps. Local guys are charging 10-12k per.
I ordered both for 8200 (with tax) and gonna rent a skyjack for installation @$350, that way I can take my time and not run up the clock on a crane.

Be careful ordering on the web tho... some sketchy a/c vendors out there. The place I ordered from is taking their sweet time. .. been a few weeks and just now got a ship date of 6/24... already 116 here and my old units are struggling bad.

Dang BidDave, not a fun situation to find yourself in.  Hopefully you hadn’t drained your 78oz Big Gulp full of soda yet. A full bladder or having to use the bathroom would have made that even worse.

I spent the last two hours of my day hold my brakes and trying not to sneeze.

The dash was sitting at a 25 degree angle and it took two full-size wreckers to pull me sideways

I was creeping off the shoulder to get out of traffic to open the gate, the super single caught the edge of asphalt and pulled me right off the shoulder,   Tags were up as I was going off highway.   The whole truck teetered if I moved, the company owner pushed up on my driver mirror a little bit and it didn’t take much, I had about 20ton in the bed and was headed to our dump site.

Two hours of don’t let off the brake, don’t turn truck off as the tow company guy said cranking it over would possibly tip it. And don’t move inside the cab.   They wouldn’t let me out.   Whole lot of chew and camels consumed today.  Time for some whiskey now!!

I've been in similar situations with tractors before. Shoulders like that can also easily give out under a heavy load and leave you in a similar situation. Even as a tractor doing 25 mph max I have a right to the road and I wasn't afraid to use up every bit of my half of the road.  It might upset a few drivers but better then getting run off the road.

I have slowed down my liquid consumption greatly.   Mostly due to covid and the lack of being able to get into places to piss in a large truck trailer combo, but I had a cold drink to sip and Lucky didn’t have to pee,  only numb hip from siting on the arm wrest and feet numb from my poor blood circulation.

Bear I am not gonna say it will never happen again but I assure you I will use my size to my advantage further to my advantage.

That's the Idaho place where I left the trailer a couple weeks ago Jon.

Dave, bears can be extremely destructive, especially when you (me) invade their space. Probably the same bear that ripped the fuel door open and scratched the decals off the excavator.

Knowing this, I ran 3 strands around the perimeter of the trailer ...12v, high voltage livestock fence controller. ..3+ joules.. one of the highest ratings I could find. I just need to adjust the spacing between strands for the smaller heathens.

You might be able to see the strands in this pic

Copy that.  Crafty little monsters

Picked up some wheels and brand new bfgs for $600.  Going to turn down the torsion bars to soften up this ride

Was Thursday.
Anyone with a duramax has likely heard of this coolant leak.
But Thursday I replaced this hose.
What a pain in the butt.

Heading home, got out of the city in really good time for us. We’ll be home by 21:00 or so. Beauty!

Then an hour out, hmmm, looks like there’s something on the trailer fender. Mama looks, agrees, and asks what could it be.

Antifreeze I say...as the low coolant message pops up on the dic. There was a gas station just behind us so I turned around and went there to get to it.

I’ve always said I carry enough to rebuild an engine tool-wise and I did not need anything not with me to do this either.

It resides under the egr crossover of the cold side inteecooler pipe. Anyone who’s deleted knows where this is. Until I saw the spray I had no idea that was where the line went...

Heater hose is not normally something I carry but should. Had some as I was gathering up for the upcoming builds.

85-90 out, in the sun, dead calm, on a hot stack and motor. Yee-haw. Not fun.

Would not like that on the road. I should likely change all my lines with 200k. I have a small leak on the firewall from the push on fitting. Got the fitting just other projects (till it goes).

Dave, torsion bars do not alter the ride unless you bottom or top out and loose travel. I have a vibration I am looking for, believe it is the IFS disconnect worn out (Ken?). I have pushed it sometimes with the gears being off but have another unit when I lift.

108 here yesterday.

The more tension you put on the torsion bar (twist) the more force is applied to the suspension.  Bottomed out or top yes will alter the ride as well

These are sitting on the frame

I can’t force a folded business card under it.

There is no more down travel.

A torsion bar does not change it rate when turned, it is supporting the same weight. We only adjust our TB about 5*, not enough change the geometry of the suspension arms in relation to the TB.

Now JMHO, but I think it comes down to we have always been "told" it makes it ride harsher. Think it is more travel and shocks.

Might disagree with you on that.

It's only supporting the same weight at stock setting...it takes more force once the lower a-arms change angle from being parallel and every truck I've been in that's been turned up has road stiffer. (The a-arms have less leverage when angled)

As I said, JMO. I think the amount cranked will affect geometry some, but unless extreme it should change little. Be cool to actually check the change if any at diff angles.

Ken, did you see my question up higher?

I don’t recall the formula but its the same used when adding a Cheater bar. Every inch multiplies,  And just like a cheater bar the rotational force added with the torsion key is multiplied to the torsion bar, thus transferring that to the suspension.

Regardless of what those numbers are they have it all screwed up on this truck and when ya drive over a bump in the highway the steering wheel gets loose in your hand and is rather scary.

I won’t drive it on a highway again until it’s correct.

The new bfgs ride so nice though. Quiet and smooth!

Sorry I got sidetracked. I've never seen that cause a vibration but have done plenty of cv axles. Not saying it isn't possible... just haven't seen it

Since were in a good old Internet argument I’ll throw my two cents in Ken is right. The torsion bar tension does not change based on its rotation however the effective length of the lever on the torsion bar from the change in angle of the A arm is what causes a stiff ride that plus the geometry of the ball joints can have an effect. I feel better having put in my two cents worth

Pulled both front side apart. Bearings, CVs, Ball joints all good. Brakes look good (220k). Happens mostly in a left turn braking. I need to check the back and driveshaft now, just to hot.

Dave, just saw the 1 small pic when you talked about trading in for the 2020.

Out in the front pasture spraying glyphosphate along the fence line and the tractor dies. Brewed another cup and going to take some tools out to see if I can get it going. I think it may be the safety switch under the seat. I assume that circuit is normally closed and then opens when the switch is unloaded from the seat moving up.

Any of you guys have any experience with that?

I got some goodies added in the trailer this week. Got a soft start added to one AC unit. And I am supposed to be getting two 250 amp hour AGM batteries and an inverter installed. I've been waiting all week but the guy has been busy working on other guys trailers.
The guy in the flammed Pete upgraded from AGM to lithium so I bought his used AGM cheap.

These are some if the neighbors.

Figured it out. Tested the switch and it was good. Turned out to be the fuse.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

For future Charles, all those are as you describe.
Mine are all bypassed since whatever critter ate all of the wiring a couple winters ago.
