John Moses Browning was a genius. The 1911 design proves that. Been around for over 100 years, and still the go-to combat pistol for a lot of trigger pullers on the pointy end of the spear. You Glock guys are just like cross-fitters. SMH

plus they're just bada$$. "here come the good guys"

These are for a solid axle right, not our IFS dmaxs?

Correct, and unfortunately, with the high likelihood that the A arms are damaged with most Dmax applications, we do not yet carry them for the chebbies

Website is unable to be updated at the moment, and to be honest, Shawn is one of the 1st to "test drive" these for me, but here's a parts note on these Canadian, (Thank you Sam) made-for-us bad boys:

THE SPECIAL SAUCE:
HOUSING
SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.
Knurled Housings: The preferred design for aftermarket installations.
CNC Machined Housing: Make our parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.
BALL STUDS
SAE 4140 Hot Forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For the strongest possible metallurgy.
Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
Polished Ball Studs: Are built like an anti-friction bearing with extremely precise tolerances.
Rolled Threads: Are made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware. This ain't no Ikea furniture!
Step Threads: Allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued (installer choice).
BEARING DESIGN
UPPER: Carbon Bearing Design: Used mainly in Jeep and Dodge upper ball joints is the solver of all things wobbly. Like all of our product
LOWER: Military Grade Acetal Bearing: The same bearing material spec'd by the US military for Hummer ball joints. This material is: dimensionally stable (doesn't expand or contract with hot or cold, water or oil absorption), it can be polished smooth as steel, is anti-friction, Doesn't wear itself out under load like metal on metal, and can take an absolute pounding.
BOOTS
CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold.
Internal Seal Boot: The boot is coined onto the ball joint, for superior sealing against contaminants.
FINISH
UPPER: E-Coat Finish: Durable e-coat treatment.
LOWER: Phosphate Finish: Extremely durable. Double coated. Rugged look.
HARDWARE
Grade 8 - Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength
Castle Nut: Industry standard where high

Because at that stage she's just as likely to pass it on her own as she is to need a D&C. We opted for the D&C because the sight alone is enough to cause the need for therapy... but they don't deem it medically necessary until after 11-12 weeks I think. Lousy either way she had to sit with it for that long

Couple issues with the Lambda platform… (at least with the 2011 Acadia we had)

Steering rack
Head leaks oil into the spark plug tubes

They don’t get the best fuel mileage from a V6 (do any of them??) and I agree a turbo would’ve been amazing. Other than those things it was a nice rig. Yours is even nicer I’m sure cuz it’s a Buick :)
My understanding is the trans, rack issues got fixed in 2012, the steering in this one feels lots smoother, trans is yet to be seen. I replaced one in our last traverse.

I think a turbo v6 would do wonders in this platform.  They are kinda heavy and a little power multiplayer would go along ways I think

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Motor/trans problems were fixed in late13 early 14. viscous coupler at the rear diff can be an issue, but not if you keep up on maintenance. like Ken once told me, clean the direct port system and replace spark plugs, change oil and don't drive like a Schifthead. ( Ok I might have added that last part)

Traverse platform.
I couldn’t tell from the photo if it was the Escalade size.    I like the size of the traverse.  Good for almost everything and even has a tow package option.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But not much of a towing weight
Ours yanks around my little three rail motorcross trailer with two bikes on it east but you are correct. Homedepot runs and a 6x6 enclosed with balloons in it are about it.   But it’s still an option lol

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was at a camper dealer and this lady kept referring to her traverse as a truck. It was hard not laugh. I know mine wouldn't hardly pull a loaded lawnmower trailer. In all fairness the ramp gate was like a parachute.

All kidding aside the new traverse is real nice vehicle.  I can only imagine how sweet a ride the Caddie version is. God job boss!

Sent from my SM-T727V using Tapatalk

I don't know what platform the Buick Enclave is on but ours had the towing package. I never took the cover off the hitch setup because the rating was so low.
Those rigs are really nice rides, You have spoiled her for sure.

Same as traverse Bob. Mine has the Acadia version
so let's tally here:
Chief caddy
Dave Chevy
john chevy
bob buick
tate GMC

like Ken told me before, spark plugs and injector cleaner. i think we avg 28mpg on that 3.6 when we head north from Southern OR to WA visiting the boy.

So far it looks to be as it stands, but they said it might be possible to change the material on a "change form" that might be minimal via the Eng firm, MSE Eng. LLC.

I am also getting a $1000 retainer returned since I am the "contractor" on the project. Will do that on Monday.

So it seems they are trying. I do have my entire project permitted, which I never thought would take over a year.

Second note, the exc rollers just showed up, time to get dirty. Unless I find something else, should get it up there next weekend!

I'm 41, in decent shape for a desk jockey. last year I was told if my wife and I were to be the primary care givers during my MIL's cancer treatment we had to be vaccinated. We reluctantly got it done, but 6 weeks later I'm having full blown AFIB 208 bpm for over half an hour and just coming and going as it pleases. reported my "side effects" from it, never heard anything back from the CDC, and last week I go into my new primary care dr. who casually says to me, "I see you have a history of anxiety and panic attacks" uh doc, never in my life have i ever said those words to anyone. but i did vaccine side effects to the CDC... says, well, we can stress test you to verify it's NOT anxiety but i believe you. i also will be happy to prescribe ivermectin if you do need it. knew i had the right guy at that point, but sheesh, wonder if i'll be "diagnosed" with PTSD next!

That's very cool Don, thank you for that. He didn't talk much about his service, and never talked about Los Banos about being some big thing. We only learned about the real story from the former POW. All he ever told me was they caught the (japs) by surprise when they were doing their morning PT. Said they had drums of diesel they were planning on lighting the barracks on fire and shooting the prisoners that tried to run. Pretty miserable way to go out.
Japanese then were evil monsters. The more we shot, the better. Me: Not sure I wouldn't have marched them into those barracks then set the fire...What goes around, comes around

No, that's what the Japanese were planning on doing to the POW's!!!

Couple months before he passed, a then child from that camp showed up at his hospice with a news crew to thank him for his part in liberating that camp. Thought it belonged here. I will give them one pass and Shawn can attest to this; They are probably flush with a bunch of inventory that no one wants, and are unable to get anything customers are requesting. Shipping, manufacturing, truck drivers, no one working because Biden pays them to stay home, all these things I'm dealing with on the daily, and what you experienced; those that do show up to work, aren't worth a damn, they just don't know how to get the free money and have to work.
Good point, but lack of communication is hard to forgive. They could've just said they don't have any and won't have any for a while. One of my biggest pet peeves in our business, someone says they'll call back and they don't.

And good communication is probably the only reason I'm still in business and get to deal with the likes of Shawn. like I was saying, only 1 pass. They failed at every other aspect for sure.

Besides basic tools, how many of you have a fire extinguisher on there? I have plenty, but not mounted which should be a basic.

Met a guy on a flight from Vegas to Oregon that has a system at his place that is pretty intense: completely passive with a thermal switch like in offices, but on a perimeter fence 50+ yards from the house. drains reserve tanks 1st, then if they hit a certain level, triggers a pump connected to his pool filtration system and 20,000 gallons blasts the house and surrounding area draining the entire pool in about 10 min. Guess he got serious about wildfires, and helps to be an engineer.

Sorry to hear Shawn.  If its as contagious as reported, then you’ll have it soon. And that might be a good thing.  Omicron seems to give backward protection against the other variants but the others don’t provide protection against Omicron.  I believe once this works its way through we’ll be at the endemic phase and can get back to normal and punt all these control freak politicians to the curb.

Yesterday I had to go put two new batteries in the bus.  3 months after the warranty on the AGM platinum battereies from Advance Auto ran out….   Went with OReilly AGM Platinum Series this time.  Changed them in the parking lot so I could only do a cursory terminal cleaning.  Will take them back off and deep clean and coat them with anti corrosion gel.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Charles, have you found that the AGM last that much longer than a regular battery to warrant the cost? Or what’s the thought as to why buy the AGM? We need to add another battery to the dodge and was planning on just adding another regular napa battery.
No not really.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

what AGM does better than others is handle vibration.

I have used these gloves every winter for 20 or more years. I like the elastic cuff because it keeps snow out. At one time we have 3,000 head of hogs We made our own feed. I stood outside 3 days a week in all weather conditions. Rain, snow, sleet, and negative temps. I've been out fixing cattle waterers in -20 during an ice storm. Once the inside got worn out some, I wore a glove liner.  These gloves never failed me. They can be hard to break in. The first week of wear it's hard to hold on to things. You might hate them the first time you wear them but once you get them broke in, I really like them, and they stay pretty water resistant.

Heckuva testemonial right there sir. you should sell them, lol.

I ran pigskin leather gloves from the co-op during Les Schwab days with winter stud and tire changes and using the dunk tank in sub teens, constantly dunking not terribly warm, but kept the fingers from hurting at least. I literally dunked them in metled SnoSeal every couple weeks until i wore holes in them from slowing down studded tires on the balancer with my hands. really tough to beat durability wise, and the hot SnoSeal really did the job of waterproofing and softening the leather.

Update: One company is continuing to show up, and they are the oldest and offer a solid service. I would place then in the lead slot at the moment.

Company number two has contacted me again to discuss further. Their pricing is less, but I think their value does not add up to what company number one can offer.

Company number three, the largest Christian publishing company of all is AWOL. I'd say in two days if they do not show up at the door, they are out.

Feedback from the readers who evaluated the work: Popular genre, built interest from the first page. Held interest all the way through, ought to do well.

^^^Them talkin' not me. I take the wait N' C approach. If the thing has something to add to the building of the kingdom, it has potential is what I feel...

I have to admit, I've only made it halfway, but that was because it was 0130 and just haven't had a minutes time to catch back up, but you have a solid "voice" in this with a good structure and they're right, it's a popular genre right now and well really has been for long time. keep us updated
