Sounds like you’ll be passing through my area. If you have any trouble between southern TN and Birmingham let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

Nate, wearing a my pretty pony helmet at a block party precludes you from trying to confuse me with Ken.  I know that Charles might mistake us given our affection for 1911s and all, but the Constitution T-shirt seems to indicate a bridge too far for a liberal!

Nate’s been awesome help while here in Nebraska!  Took me to a great sandwich place in downtown, went to breakfast today and gave me a ride to where a friend was waiting on her motor home to get service as I dropped off my Duramax at the stealership for repairs. Seems myChevrolet app picks up my location and throws a code so I have to stop by and bolster the economy in about every other state I travel to!

Got some coveted Nate smoked bacon, beef bacon and loaded beans to tear into later in the trip.  Nate has also steered a group I Field Trial with for an outstanding steak dinner last night!

As Ken would say, Donkey Kong Limo and Travel deserves an excellent Yelp Review!  Off to Basset NE Monday morning provided my truck makes it outta the dealer as a hazmat situation has it blocked in by a delivery truck with a leaking 55g drum of  hydrochloric acid warranting a full response by local emergency authorities!  Never a dull moment!

First independent shop in town to get one of these. I won't be buying toys for awhile.
..and hope you guys with newer vehicles don't need any AC work. This new stuff is stupid pricey. From what I've researched dealers are charging between $350 and a grand for a simple evac and charge (r1234yf freon)

Hey Ken, how much of the change to the new refrigerant is warranted and how much a money grab, supported by the EPA and industry lobbyists?

Wow Ken... yeah, that’s just stupid. I recharged both my vehicles and a refrigerator (twice) with a $35 manifold set, $60 vacuum pump and $4.88 cans of r134 from Wally World.

They went to R134a to save the ozone, but it's still a greenhouse gas. The R1234yf is supposed to be so safe it can be vented to the atmosphere, even though we're not allowed to. It's also flammable, but similar to diesel in how hard it is to light. ..but, since it is still flammable, you have to go through extra steps to charge a car, like using a sniffer to check evaporator for leaks. If it won't hold a vacuum the machine won't charge it... mandated timers on machine filters. .. mandated freon identifier, so if the car has been 'converted' it won't allow you to charge it and the machine needs to be cleared with a separate machine to remove the contaminated freon, etc.
Problem is the price. Locally it's 1100 for a 10 lb jug. ..620 from the manufacturer (only 2 companies make it). This will lead to a bunch of people switching to r134, which will be considered a contaminant. You can already buy the conversion fittings.
Every year I think about giving up on AC work, but bit the bullet again. SMH

What cars use it?

Future buildings. Ran across them on Facebook. Got it for $10,000 with no back wall and free shipping. Comes with all hardware and mounting brackets you weld to the container. The top of the arch will be 15-16 ft tall.   https://www.futurebuildings.com/

They have mixed reviews. Nothing against the quality of the building the bad reviews I found were just people mad they didn't get their plans on time or were short on hardware.

I believe they are out of Canada. The sales person I spoke to was in Michigan. One thing I though was strange. When I started talking to them earlier this summer they had a bunch of orders that could not be delivered because of the flooding this spring. Now all of a sudden these are orders that could not be delivered because of the hurricane.

Put some new shoes on the Bus today.

Nitto ridge grapplers 35x12.5x20

I got 50k on the tetra grapplers and I didn’t rotate like I should have.

These seem really nice. Pretty quiet for the tread design.

Maybe I’ll treat it to a bath.  It’s been a while

Yeah, when I first bought it I was only doing about 5-6k a year, now its up to about 15k a year running back and forth the weekend place.

But the new gasser is at 13000 after 15 months, so it should last a while...plus its still all stock.

As much as I want to do the 408 striker and twin turbo kit from LME in Houston.

1500hp in a 1/2 ton would be stupid...but fun

Practicing my Google fu. My wife is in Alabama in the 2004 Chevy express2500. The check engine light is blinking and she stopped at autozone and got the codes pulled. Had p0300(random misfire) and p0496(evaporative emissions system high purge flow).  Some of my reading points to the purge solenoid. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts?  It’s a 6.0 with nearly 500k miles on it.

Had her check the gas cap first thing, it is tight.  As for the plugs and wires, I had them replaced a couple of years ago, probably 60k miles on them.

If it wasnt for the hesitation and lack of acceleration I might wait until she got home, but she’s got an8 hour drive home on Thursday with six kids. Prefer not to have her get stranded.

Gas cap seal could still be ripped. Yep, wires and stuff sound OK.

Reading up I see either exhaust backpressure or air intake leak, both make sense with a high mile vehicle.

To far with kids for sure, better take it in or trade it there. You have got your use from it.

The 6.0 had a driver side exhaust manifold stud issue.  Had a few break off on mine and that caused codes.

Check all the exhaust man bolts

My wife says the exhaust doesn’t stink any worse than other times.

But if you drive it all the time you may not catch the change.
