Not for what I am looking for. The backhoe has larger cylinders than some. Just not many around for sale. It is a L47 TLB

Well she is ready for fuel and I am nervous to do it!!  Right now it’s working great in my head, it’s not costing $$$ and it’s fresh rebuild lol.  I add fuel and something else can go wrong.

I had that frame all polished up and the amount of welding done in the garage covered it all in that film of dust.  It needs a hand wash for sure

It's the wife's birthday today and mine on Thursday so went out to a fancy restaurant. I had Sous vide duck confit Jen had the duck breast. It was delicious but the portions we small.
Made more bacon today. I have a stash of already brined bellies in the freezer just waiting for me to have time to run them through the smoker.

I picked up another project from grandpa this week.

A stihl 045 AV electric.

Need to source the correct pull cord and cover and I’ll be able to see what else it needs.  I have drained the fuel out of it and it looks ok inside

I got a good deal on a pair of 8D AGM 250 amp hour batteries for my 5th wheel from a friend of mine who is upgrading to all lithium. Now I can start playing with solar and inverters and all that fun stuff.

Jon, if I wanted to change out the 12volt lead acid batteries in my camper and swap to lithium, what would you recommend?

Lithium are the way to go long term. You may need a new charger or not. Many batteries have the balance/safety internal.

Here are a couple good ones, non are cheap.

Lithium is the way to go. But you do need a bigger charger. I wanted  to get a new battle born lithium but I don't want to upgrade the charger in my trailer. The trailer I have now will not be the one we build the solar on when the time comes. I'm just going to experiment with it. Nothing permanent.
I will be attending the truck rally out in Idaho again this year. The guy that puts it on is a battle born dealer. He has a really great deal on batteries. Anyway, I will be buying the used AGM from another gentleman that is going lithium.  AGM will work fine with the charger I have.

It depends on the batteries too. You can charge with almost anything IF your batteries have built in balancer and limiters (BMS), but still a 12v battery. (well, 4.2 per cell when fully charged,3.8 under load and you never want to run them past about 3v per cell, but they will give you double the capacity of most AGM)

I have 3 AGMs in my container, 300ah worth. Lifo are the way to go and very possible for my prop.

My Kobalt compressor motor just took a dump. (changed to a 4.5 pully from 3.5) Will see how if the warranty works, 3 years apparently.

Maybe that’s why it had a 3.5” pulley on it. ;)

Given the distance maybe a rental is a better idea

That 350 is a good sized machine.
I thought they were big till I walked into the bucket on a 650.
That is a monster.

Ken, it’s only May. Lol.
June 25th 2005.
Bought mamas Impala that morning due to the 16” of snow that cancelled my boating plans.
I’ll trade ya for the 100* heat tho right now. I’m ready for a few of those.

Lots of upgrades coming for my shop. Started on a new axle storage rack from some surplus I beam I picked prior to huge price increase. So I started fabricating that unit. Interesting note is the beam was marked SDI which is a Steel mill company from my old stomping grounds.

My neighbor moved out who had the huge blast cabinet. So my other neighbor, good friend and electrician by trade who uses the blaster more than anyone took it upon himself to give my blast cabinet some tlc. He’s currently going thru it and upgrading the lighting and checking all the systems. I bought new tempered glass for it along with filters and Mylar strips to protect the new glass. Two sets of blasting gloves coming in as well. He scraped all the hippyland stickers off of it from prior owner and spray bombed it. All new seals throughout and even caulked all the seams.

Some chunky steel for sure.

Got the trailer in the property. That was fun. Amazing how little moisture there is this year from the lack of snow, and greener with more bugs than normal in May.

Money pit is in the shop again. Driveline vibration.  Pulled the drive shaft. I believe the splines are worn. Jen is going to drop it off at a machine shop Monday to get it checked out.
Had to use my pickup to take the camper down to the river in 25 mph cross wind. That was not fun and the old ford did not like it one bit.

Last night a buddy called and told me I was leaking “A lot of antifreeze”.
Depressurized and went to bed.
This morning went for a quick rip to warm it up.

Yep. Found where my antifreeze is leaking.
All things pointed to water pump.
But when I tore a bunch of still off it was all bone dry.
Called my buddy back to come have a look.
Yep bone dry.
He had a fancy pressure tester.
At about 9-10 pounds there it was.
Water pump weep hole leaking good.
Not how I planned to spend today.

If there isn’t a write up I’ll do one. Been a dose.
On the way back together.
Pulled cooling stack to clean it and make life easier.

Not fun Sam.  I stroked a check for fine.  Wasn’t up to tackling it at the time.

Hung this on an articulating mount today
Got some cleaning up to do but it’s much better than the 58 inch plasma it replaced. This is a 70 led

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Charles, don’t even have the option to stroke a check or I would.
Our garage closed.
I’m lucky that I was rebuilding the other motor.
Need to order another water pump now. Lol.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Passed a kidney stone, I think I would have rather changed the water pump on the Duramax
