When I say "they" I mean BLM. First we had to buy tags, then we had to buy an OHV tag if going off-road. Now BLM wants in on the action and requires a permit for going on state land...our land. Too many people own toys now I guess.

We got a pretty decent amount of wind mixed with snow today, felt like I did a fair amount of shoveling snow.  Figured I earned a glass, last glass

Why that’s a fine looking RV.    Don,  where is your fireplace in your trailer?

That’s the kind of trailer my wife wants.

Nice Jon! You should have no trouble towing that one either.

We had been unseasonably warm, mid to low 20’s.
Turned into winter again last 24 hours. -25 or lower and snowing and windy as heck.

Started cutting firewood. Out of shape something bad from being lazy after surgery.
Good news is I likely have healed well.
Bad news winded worse than when I smoked.
20 mile skidoo ride informed me my core was more like 50% rather than the 80-90 I thought.
Cutting wood will fix all of that.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Sam, get after it brother and stop slacking...
Cutting and stacking wood is a great overall exercise. I recommend the wheel of death for your core

got the cummins engine stand media blasted and painted the other day. i think i’m getting (for a customer) a ppump 8 valve (yes.. you heard correctly, now use that mush between your ears and do some rithmatic) soon. going to go through it and see what we can get out of her. thinking KDP, GSK, fuel plate, HX35, maybe injectors, valve springs and timing adjusted.

In hindsight, I believe if I had just stayed with the VE pump motor in SquareD, I would have finished it...Even if I could never have licensed it for street use.

Fighting with the generator on my truck again. Fired it up to exercise it and its surging real bad. I have to get the new camper Tuesday morning so I am going to stop by the town I grew up in. A guy I know from school has had a small engine shop there ever since graduation. I'm going to give him a shot at it. Just over the phone diagnosis sounds like it needs a carb rebuild.

The shop I bought it at is little help. They use to be a great little shop. Real nice folks. But lately they expanded to diesel mechanics and took over the local grasshopper dealership. 2 years ago I would never dream of taking my business elsewhere. Now every time we go in there everyone is in a bad mood or snappy with you. They had all our business now they have none. Just because you are bigger don't mean you are better.

Do you use ethanol-free fuel in it? Standard pump gas causes the carb to gum up and run just like that.

We only use non ethanol gas on the farm. We have a couple old tractors that dont like it.

Well time now, I'm taking a few minute break from homework. Regulatory Compliance (OSHA) and Fundamentals of Occupational Safety courses with the associated 2 or 3 page papers, chapter outlines, reading, chapter assessments, discussion boards and 3/2/1's are wiping me out.

Remarks complete.

I censored my writings. But a montage song from one of the Rocky training segments popped up on my Spotify so I got a little bit more energy. Plus the girlfriend and her friends want me to come down for one of their friend's birthday party.

Bobby, it could be worse. At least a hippy from Colorado didn't invade your town, and your privacy.

I can get away with such comments because I believe he's still driving home from said invasion, unable to visit this site, for it would require him being able to accomplish 2 tasks at the same time.

It was nice meeting you too Ken!  And your brother, little outposts of conservative sensibility are always great to visit.

Funny, we were both trying to figure out how to add his gf’s bumper sticker to each other’s vehicles....

Made it home early this morning with no major issues. Excursion either has a rear tire out of balance or a u-joint is going as we developed a slight shimmy on way into race near Vegas.

This weekend I felled a couple of trees. One intentional. Other collateral damage. Burned all the limbs and cut and split and stacked the rest.  Then changed the rear diff fluid on the denali. No water in it after the floods a few months ago. Used amsoil severe gear. Had a nice metal and rubber gasket on it. Probably could have reused it but went quick dry rtv

Had a weekend basket ball games. Zanes team got second in the tournament.  One game went to overtime.  the last game for the championship they lost in 3rd overtime.
I never seen such young kids play so hard. There were no medals for second place, no participation ribbons.  You took it all or went home empty handed. Usually they at least have second place medals but not there. The boys didn't seem to care.
One more tournament to go in 2 weeks up in South Dakota.

This past weekend, both of the pre=rangers wrestled in the regionals. Unlike last year, this year neither moved on to wrestle at state. Frankly, I'm happy with the results. In my view, sports these days takes too much time away from the boys being at home. They have done zero time at the farm since before Christmas. So I'm happy that I get them back. I also think it's good to lose a tough one once in awhile to put things in perspective. I am happy to know they worked their butts off over the season, and stayed with it even though they adorned bruises and black eyes most of the season. All said, I hope that the experience helps prep them for their stated goals in life to (both now) wanting to become Ranger qualified infantrymen. Now, I'll never understand why they are so in love with becoming grunts instead an aviators, but sa' live'. It their life to live and apparently they are choosing not the easy road...

Oh, and Ken, since this is your everlasting, never ending thread, I thought of a good name for it: Doing life together

Speaking of military, daughter likes what she heard from a Navy recruiter at school. I want her to talk to the AF as she has always wanted to fly and I think options and bennies are better.

She applied to Chico, Sac State and Nv State (my wallet already hurts) but wants Nv really.

Little done around the house this weekend. Wind blowing like crazy and no fun working. Getting little things done in garage is all.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Getting ready for the latest addition to the family. Momma is ready, baby will probably be born sometime in the next 12 hours or so. You’d think after having as many as I do this would be old hat. I feel like I’ve never done this before.
