I think once the wood is on, you probably won't be able to see anything. ..and we both know, nothing is completely unbreakable

Wil, there's also the fact that livestock style electric fencing won't kill you, but can sure hurt! ..especially the old ones that aren't electronic!!

RN, not an expert on these, but if it's capable of locking straight and left, there might not be anything wrong with the locker. If the flywheel/gears broke, it would never lock consistantly....which leaves 2 possible issues. The clutch pack might be burnished (switching to a non-synthetic might help), or the way you tried to spin it going right, was different....(too fast =non-engage on a g80) ..or something similar.

You serious on the electricifier Don? How will you insulate the shutters from the wood? I have some experience with those things, and can tell you that if it's hooked to a substance that can absorb water (wood siding) it will probably just short to ground....but....I haven't actually tried to electrify steel shudders before (and probably not too many folks have) lol

That seems like a no brainer, but, I wonder which one is quieter. To me, that would be a pretty big priority. I like "quiet" when I'm in the woods.

Norm, you wouldn't think a guy would need a saw in the desert....so, sometimes I just have to find a reason to use one! lol I found out, after destroying that carbide chain, that they make different grades of carbide....the one I ruined was like 100+ and the replacements I bought were like 50ish iirc. ..Hindsight.....
Mike, I really like that pic of the horses. If you guys weren't wearing modern jackets (and not a bunch of old farts), I would've thought that that was a scene from Young Guns!

2 words Norm---Car Bide. I had a chain that has cut about 20 railroad ties, some length wise. I didn't fail til I decided to help a buddy cut a semi trailer in half. I guess aluminum is a little tough on them.

I think we all need some sensitivity training here...
Just think of all the mongrels who will be offended because we've associated them with these jobless rejects who contribute nothing to society as a whole. We must consider the feelings of those who have mixed backgrounds, and not lump them all together with those who have no background, no backbone, and no sense of civic duty, honor, fear of God, love for Jesus, or any other redeeming qualities!
So please... let's all try to be more caring.
I'm sensing the same dark humor that some of us are known for.

Actually they have those kits where as long as you have two batteries in series you can weld. I think sq d could store the batteries until needed?
Great idea Shawn...he could tow SD to the farm with the batteries protected in the topper, and just drag the tractor (with Sarge) up close to the truck when welding is needed. Volia, stationary welder! :)

Decided to start tuning customers' (diesel) vehicles a while back. Seemed like something a little different, and possibly fun. We're on chevy #5 (including my brother's and mine), and one dodge and one ford so far. Spent 6 extra hrs finding out that I did somethin wrong (and not the tuner) on chevy #5. A small mistake cost me close to 5 bills.....
...it's not fun any more.

Did look at the Nathan K5LA train horns today. Not sure how I justify to the wife unit $1500 for a set of horn....
I've got just a single, plain ol' trucker horn, and it has a built in solenoid. Easy hook up, and it's plenty loud enough for me. My pump cycles about once every 2 days, because every time I cycle the key, the wireless air bag solenoid pack purges (for moisture control.

Started on installing a mechanical air pump in the truck. Tired of listening to the loud electric pump every morning. Probably do a write-up when finished Then came home and finished up the Jacuzzi....tightened all of the jets. put the bottom back on, added water, and then tried to access the jets again to tighten some more, and vacuum out a few gallons of water from the tray. lol

Pretty sure all 14 bolt GMs are the same, and those 2 I linked to, are for 14 bolt diffs, just 2 differently designed sockets (the good one has a sleeve/guide that fits inside the tube) .

I like that look as well. It breaks up a rather large, somewhat plain surface.
