I would just use a cutoff wheel. Don't over think it. Seal the light with silicone to keep water from penetrating and it will be fine imho.

Use GM mounts. Not even sure you can get anything else on an 07..
...I also remember reading about replacing with updated hydraulic mounts (from a newer model, possibly LML?)to help with frame beaming on either the obs or LMM, icr which.

That's is a cool saw! I didn't even know that Dewalt had been around that long.
I think I would take the new one to the farm, with the amount of work you have, it might be more efficient.

« on: March 13, 2016, 02:54:50 PM »
Yeah, there's a big delay. When you first start pouring the fuel to it, the turbo actually keeps the outgoing exhaust temps down, and if you keep your foot in it, the post reading will eventually climb to actual temps as the turbo heats up, but that could take a while, and then the post temps will show higher temps than actual (cylinder) because of the delay of the turbo cooling back down. Not very accurate (nor quick) at all.

5272
Build Threads / Re: M715.9
« on: March 13, 2016, 02:40:11 PM »
...only about 400 degrees difference under load!!

I personally think running post turbo is a waste. It doesn't give you accurate cylinder temps (I wanna know how hot the piston is when towing) JMO

These are handy, and portable. I have one at the shop, but a little light for a 3/4 ton:

Go figure. lol

I would say Lone survivor and American Sniper are my most favorite recent ones, because I read their books long before the movies, and I must say, Hollywood didn't butcher them up too much.
Fury is pretty darn good as well.

Another good one is the Great Escape.

..you'll notice that the beginning of the sidewalk (in the first pic)had a crack in the corner, and was never sure of how that happened. Well, I figured it out:

when they poured the foundation, it blew out under the forms, leaving a 1"x3' stake sticking up, which they covered with a fresh sidewalk. The house settled, pulling that stake down, breaking the slab. ugh

I started drilling holes in it to see how deep it was, and I came up with 12+". On this end of the sewer drain, I need a drop of approx 16"...ugggghhh

Oh, so I get tired of cleaning the shop, and remembered having a nice little concrete saw that I fixed up and have never used. So, i dig that sucker out of the shed and haul it home to start cutting up my driveway for the rv sewer drain, to the septic tank(should've checked with the wife first :( ). Figured if I made a cut 6" away from the garage door, I would only have to make one cut....easy peasy as i always say......

...so the dump will be on the other side of the trash can in that pic, and the septic tank is in the bottm right, around the corner, with the cleanouts in the sidewalk:

Mowed the "grass" Sunday. Neighbor asked if he could pay me $20 to hit his yard too, (older guy and I've got the rider, so I offered to just take care of him). Let no good deed go un-punished; they were having a garage sale, and a 90's Nissan hard body was parked across the street. somehow, with the bags on and the guard down I threw a rock through the fence, bent the shot around a fir tree and clocked his driver's window with his daughter in the passenger seat. No one was injured, and the local pic n pull had a window assembly for $50. In hindsight, I should have taken the $20, ::)

That sucks, but was a good laugh for me!
