This project took about a week, every evening and 2 weekends. :-[ My wife does the whole marathon thing, running farther than I typically like to drive, and needed a place to hang her medals in the bedroom. I told her i would make something but it had to be western, since the bedroom is the only place I have control (seemingly) over decorations. ...cut out a mountain back ground, and gouged out the ridges, and her initial that will look like white wash after hanging on the wall : then I made a shelf with a corral made from square stock and round rod (to scale) with rods underneath for hanging medals, and a place to hang her placards: ...then the windmill, with copper blades: Hmm..can't find a finished pic

Figured I'd start a useless thread for those of us that want to post up some projects that don't really want to start a specific thread. I've been cleaning the shop yard for the last 2 months, adding storage (shipping containers) and what not. Found a Jacuzzi buried in the back, restored it and put it in the garage at home....yeah, exciting huh? Got tired of cleaning and decided to run a sewer dump station for the rv at home....65' of digging, cutting 30' of driveway (concrete) and so on. Murphy was along for the ride...pics to follow.

Ahh. Well in plain terms (not fancy pilot ed-you-my-kated terms) if you have a known psi at the intake, and it's what's to be expected from a certain engine (lets say 35psi is max expected) and you achieve that number, then volume is not an issue, because if the required volume isn't met, pressure drops.
5306
« on: March 10, 2016, 10:12:33 PM »
the next question would be, how could/would one test the VOLUME as it relates to PRESSURE once all gauges are hooked up? say I see 35 psi on autometer.. how do I know I'm getting good, solid volume and boost in the intake manifold?
You being serious? or trying to keep Dr. D on his toes?

The whole thing smells fishy. I would say that it was just a bunch of trigger happy leos (read adrenaline, tired of this thing dragging out, or whatever reason) but it looked like they planned it to happen the way it happened, but who am I...... nobody. Kinda funny (to myself) looking back.....my first thoughts were "oh well, that's what you get for arming yourself, taking over a building, acting like terrorists, and standing up against the government" but now I find myself thinking totally opposite, and showing sympathy for these folks...
I just hope the full truth comes out, if there is more to it.

Nates been mentoring other peoples kids (or trying to strangle them) on a daily basis. I bet some would make great 120mm targets. :)

^^^when you get going, don't stop....turn your house into a baby factory. We need more (future) parents like you and your wife! What I see from my generation is parents always using the "I don't want my kids to have to work as hard as me" or "suffer like we did" or something similar . That makes my blood boil! Having a bit of a struggle makes a person stronger and allows them to appreciate the good times, and helps them to understand that with hard work comes reward (most of the time) and a feeling of accomplishment. What happened to people wanting to be productive members of society?

They shot twice as he exited the vehicle, which could account for a shot in the back. I'm trying hard to keep an open mind, but having sound to go with the video makes a world of difference.
And of course they knew about the cell service, I mean, I'm sure they had cell phones that didn't work either.

The weird part is that he was shot 3 times, and according to the autopsy, all were in the back and one of those 3 was at a steep upward angle....as if he was shot on the ground. If he was reaching for his weapon, the officers in front would have pulled the trigger. The autopsy also says that 2 bullets exited his left chest (nipple area), which also happens to be where he was grabbing. Hmm

I watched the latest video and all I can say is wow. Like everyone gathered from the first one, Lavoy couldn't see the roadblock until it was too late and guns were blazing as he cursed (I thought I heard cursing but was wrong)and reacted the best he could. Afterwards, the passengers were not showing any signs of threat. There were just random shots for nothing after the initial shots and flash bangs....a couple single shots spaced out when everyone was still down. Way more overall shots than I originally thought. It didn't give me any warm and fuzzy feelings.

That's got to be one of the nicest sheds I've ever seen. Congrats on the progress.
Kyle, definitely take the box over the plain blade. If you set the box perfectly level, both front and rear blades will cut forward and backwards and not gouge. I have mine tilted down in the front just slightly for reverse smoothing .(if the front is too far down, it will grab and suck the blade in deeper than you want usually).

On my last phone, I had the cabela's app (I think it was recon). It was geared towards the outdoorsman, and worked really well, as long as i remembered to download maps before heading to a "no service" area. It had a bunch of bells and whistles. Now I just use google earth because there's cell coverage in all my hunt spots now.

Those wiring mods sound like you two are running moonshine! ;D
I think you're on to somethin there Mike. Maybe a little redneck addition like this: Norm=farmer Farmers=typically grow corn in the midwest Norm=appears to be mechanically inclined Norm=horder Horder/farmer/mechanic=ability to build a still (or multiple?) Norm=chrysler fanatic Dodgelover=guy with screw loose Now if we add all of this up, the probability of him cookin some mash is pretty high!

I texted Mike about your concerns. He just replied, Lag bolts are going in today!
I'm exited for you...awesome stuff!!!!!! ...Nails bad, lags great. Great call boss (and Colorado). In a perfect world, even though it's just a (huge) shed, the floor section would be on top of the posts, but it should be ok as long as you don't keep adding on. :) ...I won't even bring up "pressure treated....." Looks like great views from the trailer! ...I think I would be less one dog if that happened to my truck!

Hmm. I came up with 2900 for 35s, yet 3500 on the 37s....both load D rated. Weird.

Kooter, the problem with the KM2s is that they are only D rated from 35" on up. I had to pull the ones off my new truck after trying every which way to balance them. I resulted to using beads, but even they didn't work well above 60 mph. Discount and BFG worked with me to change them out to the Nittos and haven't had any balance issues with them (up to 120mph :) ) It's a shame, i really liked those tires.

Ken, give the R/Ts a look as well if you haven't already. Mine have performed flawlessly this winter on the highway and in some light off-road and muddy field work. The fit right between the A/T 2s and M/Ts.

Thanks. Just ordered a tire grooving tool.....goin to modify the mud grapplers...should be cheaper than new ones....if it works out.

Thanks for posting those quality pics cappin'. I'm in the middle of making the same decision...Toyo M/T vs A/t2s, but also vs Nitto Trails. I'm finally over the whole Mud Grappler thang. I think I've actually lost some of my hearing to them.

Negative.
Front wheel sensors make more sense, but symptoms point to steering sensor. Regardless, a scanner should make short work of narrowing it down.
5347
« on: February 29, 2016, 09:07:38 PM »
Seriously Don, it sounds like the steering wheel position sensor went awol. Someone needs to scan the abs/traction systems for codes before you get hurt.

« on: February 29, 2016, 04:22:55 PM »
Prolly' not enough slack in the rear wheel speed sensor harnesses and when the axle dropped, whammo, broken pieces everywhere!!
...or coincidentally, the batteries took a dump.
