How quickly we seem to given up the fight when we won the White House and disavow the man we put there.  He didn’t run as a “Christian” candidate nor profess himself as a moral example; hypocritical Evangelical Leaders want to distance themselves from him because of his transgressions- Christ surrounded himself with the fallen and flawed, not the Pharisees or the Saduceiss!

This is sure gettin' complicated fellas.  Tell you what, I'l watch, you play and when I think I know the players and the rules, I'll jump in, or ride my Harley in, whichever I can get hurt worse doin'.

And just to be clear, I'm only a 3 wood and a 9 iron from 60 yrs old, born & raised in NJ all my life.  I just don't fit in much.  Conservative, Christian, White, Male that hunts defensless animals, ride a Harley, lost track of how many guns are in the safe and believe Hillary, Holder, Obama and a bunch more should have been shot long ago for committing treason.  And I pull the Red lever every election.  Out numbered is putting it mildly.  If I'm not what you're lookin' for just break it to me gently, 'cause my "safe space" is closed until the new drapes are installed.

Dave, I have to agree with “someone” as we have TOO many people in today’s society clueless about functioning on their own.  She will learn life lessons that cannot be taught: must learn via Hard Knocks College and their satellite school I Told So University.  Good news is when/if anything serious comes up, easy rescue run for you or “someone” without hours of driving or a expensive flight.

I pickup antibiotics at feed store for fish and have used them on dogs with a surgical stapler for years saving LOTS of cash in Vet bills when they tear themselves open on barbed wire etc. I’ve even stapled a friends arm with the same stapler (cleaned) and it works slicker than can be!

« on: August 20, 2018, 06:58:53 AM »
2 questions mike....

1. Was the bird brined?

2. Was the bird dry?

The bird was a Perdue brand young roasting bird right out of the package. Not brined by me  - just washed, trimmed & dried. Sprinkle spices and put on grill with natural lump charcoal in indirect side baskets. Smoke box filled with Jack Daniels chips and the tail end of my mellowing charcoal pellets I picked up at the distillery. Added three hickory bricquetts as well. I’m able to vent my kettle to hold temperature so it was really moist to the point of filling the plate with juice while eating it.

Just wish the quality of bird was higher - if these chickens were people, they’d be the ones riding electric scooters and eating pork rinds!

This week, turned 55, finished first week with students starting my last year (a$* clowns are sprouting already!), got a haircut, had breakfast with my 78 yr. old dad and visited my buddy Ray.  Also learned NOT to put vodka on top of good Bourbon = killer headache 2hours later!

Smiled a LOT at work realizing that I won't have to be there to bail-out a sinking ship......inmates were given the keys to the institution and the bilge is starting to take on water....

If you do that Nate, I want you to load up your smoker grill, plug it into your 120v outlet and make some of your delicious looking bbq while you’re driving and pull in here for lunch, reload the grill and make it to Dons by dinner. Overnight there and reload the grill stopping back here for an overnight where I’m sure we could coax Bobby south for some “I hate you” meal and Makers. We can unwrap the mantle and personalize it for Dave and reload it and send you off with breakfast in time to make it back to Nebraska to sleep in your own bed for a night before you and Norm head West to the Bee-hive state where who knows what adventure awaits!

There's been so much change there since I visited, I'm not certain of what's exactly where.  With that in mind, Nate's drawing could work inverted; but what I remembered of the lay-out, along the treeline of the outhouse is potentially more level or opposite there, uphill of the final resting place of the orange saw, stacking uphill towards the entrance road.  Uphill of the house would require step like pads cut in the hillside to level them out.  Treeline location allows a rapid slip into the woods, both sides of drive allow converging fire towards the entrance with ease.  Keeping guests/invitees away from the command post, keeps loud snoring from waking you or the Frau should that be a concern!  Raise the house and fill in the foundation, and that site would level fairly easily depending upon how you want things arranged.

So, been awol for awhile, to the point Don feared that I'd fallen pray to the strict gun control measures that keep Chicago safe over the past weekend.  Truth be told, I've been practicing for retirement!  Chased dogs around So. Missouri for 25 days staying in the camper, payed off the Dmax, bought the wife a new to us Acura MDX with me keeping the old one, actually had a horse go full blown rodeo on me without warning to the point that I chose to get off before playing superman, and best of all, met my grandson Toan for the first time!  His mother (my oldest) and husband live in Detroit......go figure, I was safer in DETROIT than Chicago!?  Tomorrow, is my LAST first day of school marking the end of summer until next year when I get to live the dream of Endless Summer......wasn't that a Beach Boys song/album?
How do you pronounce that name of your grand son? I have a friend named Roan, Row-N.     Is it Toa-N or tone?

So, at last nights Dirt Track event in Wheatland, MO I got to witness Scott Bloomquist’s 600th career win. Guy is my age and I saw him win about 28 years ago in Illinois on the same night my Dad won a special event at that 1/2 mile track with a large paycheck for Spectator/Hobby Stock cars in my old Dodge Charger.  Was a total whim going up to those races last night and another example of a small world etc.

Here’s a question for you- how are you going to anchor the log splitter?  It’s going to need more anchor force than the combined weight and lateral forces you’re putting into play or you will only move your splitter.  That cylinder rate is between the ram and the fixed anchor points with the log rack.
