Got the blade on and shimmed/adjusted.
Went to install led headlights but one was busted in the box.

Up next, new gauges.

You have a grill for it or going to cut something fun out?  I recommend a big FJB on it

Ask and you shall receive.
Waiting on replacement led...
Replaced the gauges with classic old school SWs, non backlit.
Waiting on a mechanical tach from India.
Even replaced the cigarette lighter, push button starter switch, and light switch.

Vintage resto.
Very nice Ken.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

I know you like pics, but I'll mention again, I ordered 2 leds and 1 was cracked (glass), so I'm waiting for a new one.
I just put the old one in for comparison (passenger side). I guess they're the same size as landscape lights....4.5" diameter.

Dave, we're usually passing through your town around 10pm, the skinny pedal pushed down with ill intent, but I'll try to plan it out . My only goal is to get there, quickly!

Both batteries tested bad. Cha-ching... again...
Painted the underside of the hood and installed with a new cyclone glass.

Didn't realize how bad the fuel tank was but got a real good look today and it has to be done, so probably gonna ruin some paint getting it out.
I've come too far to cut corners now.

I know you said one was cracked but didn't catch the LED on them. Nice they have the same style in LED.

Ive been real lucky on my batteries for the toys. Got a new one with the Cat and the others have held out for 2 years now. I disconnect when parked.

Right and not even a messed up haircut either. Working trailer lights and plates and the way he walks I bet them ky boys can tell he’s not one of them from 1/2 a mile away….. then add H that he takes everywhere and there’s little to no doubt!
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

Knuckleheads

I really didn't want to have to clean this heavy ***  fuel tank. Oh well.

There was 2 inches of sludge in the bottom. It has a sump with a 1" drain hole. I took the fitting out and zero diesel came out, until I stuck a screwdriver in it, then, well, you know what happened. ..15 gallons happened.

Started with a pressure washer. Then soaked with carb dip, drove around the yard with it strapped to a forklift, then rotated every hour. Pressure washed again, then dried out with alcohol.

Tomorrow we use muriatic acid for the heavy rust.

^^^ If there is, there shouldn't be, with our lack of water!

I carefully finished the tank with acid, followed by the pressure washer, then alcohol, then a couple quarts of transmission fluid mixed with diesel to slow the flash rust, all the while rotating it by hand, using moving blankets to protect the paint. Worked great... during the 2 day project.

Then I went to carry it back to the dozer, with the forklift, and it abruptly fell off, chipping the good side in several places. DurDdurr

Oh well, at least it's clean.

Watching these guys clean tank by strapping them to a wheel and driving around. I may try that at the ridge with my 75gal storage, might even get a 250gal for red when prices come down! Offered one for free.

How in the world would you strap a 75 gallon tank to a wheel? Like a tractor tire maybe? If you do that you better get a good video.

Seen that very thing on YT several times. Put a wad of media in there (1/4 nuts or such) and strap to a tractor tire.

I turned a conex into a paint booth, albeit one without ventilation, lighting, or filtration, but it's been super windy this year and that's the only place I have to get away from it.

Painted the tank and installed it.

So, certain parts are really hard to find for this thing. I did not know this before aquiring it.
I think I mentioned the fuel filters.
Next is the air filter. They are not available, period. I found 2 new/old stock on ebay and am currently waiting for them.
I have ordered hydraulic filters from 3 companies and 2 gave me my money back. Still waiting for confirmation on the 3rd place.

While searching for different parts I found some dozer blades and went ahead and purchased them, so that was the job for today.
After removing the old ones (not fun), I found a bunch of rust (mounting surface no longer flat) and a couple large cracks. Also found some asphalt. A small explosion went off while using a rosebud to straighten the edge, from trapped gasses in the core of the blade. Fun times

... now I know what kind of life this thing had.

Heard that!

Everything needs lights, including a baby dozer that will never be operated after dark, especially when our property is on the side of a mountain.

... and finally received the tachometer from India. I actually bought a whole set from them, for $38.00. That was for a mechanical tach, oil and temp gauges, and a fuel gauge and voltmeter. Actually thought about taking the Stewart Warners out and putting these in because of how nice they look, and similar to factory.

Only issue I found on the tach was how they spelled "Idling".
While I was there I found some 1 inch heat shrink and put it on the turning brake levers.

Then a final wash. Hopefully I get some seat time before hauling it to Idaho.

Pistola on the belt, shotgun in a rack.

Lights are must, you WILL use them!

Only inheritance for me, my INS runs out in 2 years and doubt I can afford to renew, well maybe something small.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
