Sometimes I just can't help myself. Customer gave me one of these and traded work for the other.

Nothing wrong with that trade.

Chest holster like we carry in the militaree?

Yes, but slight differences.

Chest holster like we carry in the militaree?

Goes on the mollee on the chest armor. The crew liked them, but we pilots didn't.

And here's a consideration

When sitting in the cockpit (Helicopter, car, excavator, _____) you can't see down to find things on the center console, or things you dropped on the floor
Second thing, chest holster will limit the amount of aft cyclic you can pull. If you aren't in a helo, the control stack in the middle near your business may have gun induced travel limitations
Not to mention all the cheetos crumbs that thing will catch for Ken....

Nice trade on the bourbon Ken, you have customers giving you hammers now huh?
Ha!!

Had an interesting interaction with a guy on a classified page,   Selling a cargo trailer he had converted.

I asked if I could come take a look, I specified I was building one and was interested in his build.

What would you have said in his position?

So Don, your "gun" size limited your rear cyclic? (I could really have fun here)

Over 100 and the AC is goofy again. Checked all the normal stuff and no dice. Looks like the comp does not want to work.

Less than 80k miles on my truck and lost the TCM on the way home. Zero throttle input when an LML limps. Didn't know that but I do now.

Got some more welding done. Yeah it's hillbilly, but budget friendly. Ordered tin and purlins. Should be ready for pickup Wednesday.
Sure glad my brother bought a scissor lift a couple years ago. Too bad I had to buy $600 worth of batteries for it, needle scale out all the corrosion, and make new cables.

I have been way over that without WD.

Think the ruenel bumper I have is rated at 15k, better get there!

Slept in until 0730 (since I took the week off), had a couple cups of coffee with my girlfriend. I have to finish some school work and submit it all before the end of the week and register for the upcoming semester.

Google’s your friend Dave ;)

If you replaced the stock hitch then you should be looking at that hitch’s weight ratings. Usually has a sticker on the hitch.

The problem with google is there info isn’t trustworthy,     Cab dimension, bed length all play into that number but with so many folks here who have the identical truck I figured an ask would be easier then a shot on google being accurate,

Should be fine with a 10k toy hauler in the bumper.
Googled for reference

I replaced mine a few summers ago, bent the factory hitch down about a inch by being overloaded

My TH wags so I need to add a WD system (got one at garage sale for $20) but both HD utility trailer pull great!

Only reason I have not upgraded my stock receiver is I have the HD bumper.

If you’re wagging from a trailer, it needs more tung weight.
Heavy at the back make em sway.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

My new camper (not a toy hauler) is about 8400lb empty and 10,200 full loaded. I upgraded to a class V Draw-Tite with the 2.5” receiver and bought the matching 2.5” shank for the WD setup.

Your biggest weakness on a 3/4 ton will be your springs (which we’ve egged you about getting airbags multiple times now) ;). A toyhauler though might take some of that weight off the tongue with the toys in the back.

Finished building a box for the trailer winch and layed down some paint.

Added a light pointed at the gooseneck that's tied into my trucks reverse lights (also switched), some led strips in the battery and winch boxes, tied into clearance lights, and a light bar.
Never have enough light IMO.

The handle on the lid is actually a vent hole.

I keep looking at lifts that are in Ogden and SLC, how far is that from you?

Ok. I thought the idea was to be able to see the ball while connecting. Didn’t make sense that it was on the trailer in that case.

Got my treasure home. We only popped a wheelie a couple times. Turning corners was interesting. But I only had to go 8 miles on gravel roads. I think top speed was around 15 mph.

Its too rotten for me to fix up. Now to get the engine and generator running and see what works for appliances. If everything works and I can get the brakes working easily it might make a quick flip.

Anyone see that explosion in Beirut yesterday?

Big mushroom cloud looking shock wave. IDF hit a Hezobala peaceful missile construction factory it looks like. I'd say that was tons of explosives in the secondary. Likely a 1000-2000 bomb on the initial detonation. I've been around 2,000 pounders hitting and was too close to a B-52 dropping 50 or more bombs, and that was well shy of that accidental peaceful missile factory mishap.

You're right. It doesn't make sense, but that is one of the reasons. Lol
Now I need to figure out a way to actually see the ball since there's a tool box in the way. Don't really want to add a camera, and the mirror that's vice gripped to the hitch is pretty hokie.

Added some diamond plate to the dovetail to finish off the project. It's there to protect the wood from the ramps and also gives the excavator bucket a place to rest, in theory. Hard to test with the mini X 1400 miles away.

Ken,

I know I’m not the most versed in gooseneck but I have found the most simple is to leave the trailer just low enough when I bump the ball on the hitch is tells me I am close and then push a little further

Anyone see that explosion in Beirut yesterday?

Approximately 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate in an enclosed building that had been stored since 2013. The before and after photos are flowing around Facebook.

Came off a freighter in 2013 that had some damage or something along those lines. It's been sitting awaiting destruction or used up. At least that's what I've read, when I was reading into what happened on a homework break.

So there i was texting back and forth with some hippy, when the truck pulled hard to the left and entered the Academy Sports parking lot.  This thing followed me home.

No I did not switch teams.  The wife wanted to try something other than a glock.

Trigger is sloppy and you only get a cardboard box.  I love Tupperware. the night sights are nice. there. I said something nice about a weapon other than a Glock.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

The fallacy of your argument is you assume she will like this one. She may wind up with a baby 1911... you never know

The wife wanted to try something other than a glock.

As long as she likes it, then you can have all the Glocks. I also don't like XDs but I never liked them.
So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!

Empire strikes back!

Two more of these silly things followed me home this morning

19 and 43

Wife handled the 43 and the XDS and...........

She said she like the glock better. But she wants to shoot both to validate.
