Anyway, she is running great, but the stock tune just sucks air. (had to see the emissions, passed with flying colors)
Saw a lifted 16 today, but those TB were nasty hanging down. It had less clearance than mine and was taller!
Still like the idea of the CO for the front.

Sounds like a plan Ken, should look good.
You did mean "nerf" bars, not "next" bars, right?

How do you go threw airbags like that, is something rubbing?

I know some places state how many outlets you can have. I have heard 12 per circuit.
You are not supposed to go over 80% of the rated breaker (like you would max them all out at the same time, but this is Don)

Never an issue with my 06, but haven't pushed the limits with it either. The Ruenel bumper should address any issues.

Here is some stuff that has gone full circle now.
In Los Angeles they allow college "kids" to advertise for "POC" room mates (people of color) and have established "black only". Now, do that if your any other race!!!

Well Sean, I can't say it rides bad, but think it could be much better. As for shock seals, why would a coilover seal be worse or better than a regular shock? I run bilstien 5100 now which work well.
Now I attribute much of that to having the TB turned up with little down travel. The Cognito UCA help there, but I am using up spindles and upper ball joints. Been through some tie rod ends too. Now much of that will be fixed with the cognito lift I have, bringing things back into alignment. Perhaps with that and new shocks a better ride will occur. Either way I have to get new shocks with the lift and I got the NTBD lift to keep a cleaner look.
Thanks for the input, not sure yet.

« on: September 07, 2016, 09:34:15 PM »
Well, I would do the cheapest, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
You have the 350. Going 60 over is no big deal if you check core shift.
The 5.3 is so easy, bolt into where any 350 will but sometimes needs a pan (my elky does)
If you go to EFI, you will never look back. But if it goes on the trail. You can't okie like a carb.

So lets say I do this. There is what, King, Fox, QA1, Bilstien and probably a few more you guys know of.
I already have Cognito UCA, so what is the maint issue on CO vs keeping em clean?

« on: September 07, 2016, 10:00:20 AM »
What would be the issue with a DD, many vehicles come with them now. I am not a hard core off roader with this at all.
Seems to be lots of info out there on this and some kits, but wow are they $$$$$. Would also not like to drop 2K on a set of CO, but want something solid.
One issue would be the brace since there is not a lot of room over the top the dmax setup.

Can't believe it has been almost a year on this. Guess an update is in order.
Shuffled things around and this along with a LS engine swap will get done before the Spartan conversion. Spartan has not changed, been getting parts for it. But I need the room and fewer projects before I tackle that engine swap. I even find myself looking on CL for diesel subs, and have found a few but price, location and funds don't meet.
So as I flip the 1500 sub, I will do the lift on this. First here will be the gear swap on the front housing. I am also seriously thinking of going to coilovers on the front (with the IFS) even though I have the no TBD lift. I am now sitting on 130k and it still runs sweet but the ride could be better.
Maybe Ken or Sean can give some input on the CO's? Looks to be almost a bolt in, but I may mode the upper mount and do a brace over the engine. Any thoughts on this guys?

I am redoing my builds so I have the time and the ROOM to work on this right. So the plan goes like this;
Getting Spartan running again (new dist and TBI) going on. Add axles and such as times allows to make room for things.
Finish the 1500 off and get it sold. Sorta need Spartan for this as the wiring is the same and that is the issue the 1500.
During this I will put the bumpers and the lift I have on the Dmax (including gears and looking like coilovers in the front). Just to much clutter around to work on things.
Selling the Sami at the same time for the room and $$ flow. I have a few K in into this with many spare parts, should sell good here.
Then the El Camino will get the 5.3 swap along with the 4 wheel disc and front end rebuild. I have everything for this on the engine stand I need for the cummins, (plus a few more boxes) so it makes sense.
Then all I will have is the cummins to swap into a solid truck with room to work. Right now I can see less than 1/2 of the garage floor and I just cleaned! I also need to get the compressor outside (thats the 5.3 on the engine stand)
Oh, and during this I am building a room upstairs. Then the kitchen and all new floors. Basically I do dad things and the house during the day, auto at night.
I have also promised the boys a treehouse. So yesterday I cut the frame out for the floor and bought 3/4x12 lags today to bolt it up. Now I have to make brackets for the lags. Goes here in the front yard, but the tree has grown out more now.
You know, I had more time and $$$ when I worked,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Well, a little late but I did remember reading that, but moot now.
It also depends on how long the run is for the wire for any gauge.

Oldest boy busted his thumb last week and in a splint. Back to ortho today to see what ups but he is swelled up good this morning.
About 20 things to do this AM but changed out the #6 glow plug last night, added a SS fuel bleed and pulled the blocker plate. That thing does it job, but kali doesn' like em.

That is sure a nice looking place. Must be a pleasure even to work there, much less it is yours!
That wood looks good. At least the little stuff will burn good.
I want to see what you get for chief. You need a good pond not a watering hole.
How come no insulation behind the board? I like the use of 14g romex, but see you snuck some 14 in there.

I didn't see the wrap yet, maybe they pulled them first. But with good tape it really shouldn't be a problem as long as they wrap the openings first.
What concerns me is the roof that drains into the valley.

The BCG should hold the buffer off the pin, something isn't right. You could just remove the pin, but it doesn't address the issue.
