I opted out of the Monthly charge of premium tapatalk. No longer able to post large photos, they look fine on tapatalk but not sure what they look like on a laptop or larger screen

All my pics are via txt to PC, come over at around 400k, about right. Can do bigger but easier this way.

Crazy weekend! Lost a leg of power coming into the house. Ended up the nicked the insulation when they installed it, and after 20+ years, it corroded through. Ran new wire from the meter into the main box and added conduit this time for protection. I'm not sure why they didn't do that the first time. Just in case you are wondering that primary wire isn't cheap anymore.

NO, IT IS NOT

Costs are increasing at a steady rate. I have a comfortable/good retirement income, but I am losing headway against inflation. I wonder how people of lesser means are making it. McDonalds (I don't like them) can cost in excess of $25 pretty easy. We got two subs a small fry and two fountain drinks the other day and I was right at $40! And this is the Kintuckee!

Yes, my retirement account took a beating and only recently started showing gains again. I will be able to retire 5 years after I'm dead

I'm on a fixed income, this is killing me. Sure I get little cola raises, but with inflation of 20% or more, 2-3% goes backwards. Plus the supply chain issues (the say) is keeping prices high with demand/supply doing its this.

Some would argue all this is by design.

Gets us in the bread lines quicker...or so they think.

Nope, economic guys are saying we are spending $1.8 to $1 taken in. Interest on the debt is more than the debt every year.

It will take years but our kids are going to pay big time.

Technically yesterday and tomorrow

We have this swail that runs from north to south, west side of our property. It holds quite a bit of water in about 4 places mainly on my property but extending onto my neighbor to the south. Then it runs under his driveway, then down 50’ & under the road. This is where it drops down a deep ravine & eventually into Lake Creek.

This weekend I cut down all the trash trees in this bottom on my acreage to allow us to trench in 400’ of 4” flex tile. I’m installing suck out vents every 100’ (100’ rolls) and burying it about 2’ deep. Should give the water a place to go and fix the eye sore of standing water in the early spring. Hopefully give the good trees a better growing environment in that low ground.

Neighbor is helping me install tomorrow.

Pulled this low mileage trailer out today and listed it for sale. 17k# 28’ tilt deck of which 14’ tilts & has hydraulic damper for ease of loading, double 6” c channel frame from axle forward, 8” channel upright and gooseneck. Twin landing gear, 16 ply tires, tool box, led lights, sealed harness, full size spare and under 8k miles on it total, late 2022 build in case anyone here knows of someone looking located Troy, MT

It’s a very heavy built and well thought out trailer, pulls extremely well.

Rings for the swail drainage. You answered it but I was wondering about the rings before.

You're going to dig all that trench by hand and not cheat and use any of that fancy equipment you got? LOL

Laid all 400’ in just over 3 hours, got a late start due to some rental issues and buried the skid steer twice. Neighbor helped me lay it and ran recovery in his Kubota. We’re both beat……

Looks nice and gooey on those tires.
This should help to keep you in a dryer state for sure.
Nice to see the neighbors help too and not complain.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

This neighbor is a retired lineman and his wife is a registered nurse. He helped me set all the walls on the big shop and is always willing to lend a hand. The tile went about 100’ across his property to the culvert under his driveway. So I had his approval to install this and it benefits him some as well. He had one low spot that retained water which we ran the tile directly thru. With my property up stream and giving me issues I thought it only fair to pay the bill if he allowed me to fix the issue in the best manner for both of us.

On the other side of him are two new neighbors which are having a meadowlark (same manufacturer as ours) cabin built currently. They should be moved in around 8 weeks from now. Those two have been married 30 years and he started his navy career in the back seat of a Tomcat. I met both of them this past week. They are mid 50’s and seem like very nice people. They had to get out of Colorado as well.

Made a quick trip to Wyoming to get some cattle and got food poisoning. That was week ago and I'm still not right. Seen some interesting country and learned a few back roads.

Make sure you invite that Navee pilut to join our group here. He can take up the cause of defending that rusty boat, barnacle-encrusted glorified tug boat service which was created to transport the United States Armee to distant locations and to make us sandwiches while we are there...
That ought to get him going...
