Don, don't discount the 9.5aam on this unless you plan on big towing or hard use. The 9.5 has been used for Dmax conversions on a few trucks and has some stout axles!

So around 15 years ago I was working grave shift. Just 2 on duty for 900sq miles. We roll into the office around 0545 and get call of possible suicide by train about 10 miles from the office. Jurisdiction was unknown, I was OIC so I took the call. Rolled up same time as a town detective arrived (my old partner in the SO) and he called jurisdiction. The Amtrac had slowed for the run through the city and was only doing 70 when they said some in a sleeping back had stood in front of the train. They were 2 miles away now and the route was closed. These were the old style tracks with spikes.

Since I was there I asked if I could take pictures, he said sure. (I later gave copies to SO for training) Not posting all though.

First thing see is you know what  , then a pile here, a mound there and chunks ripped off by the spike heads. It was pretty hard to ID some parts plus it had that gammy smell.

Bet that is sea level too. Ain't gonna be the same in places like Tahoe with 30% less density. (carb tuning days)

Packing for an overnight with the scouts in Tahoe. Supposed to be at least 2ft of snow on the ground. I'm not roughing it, will sleep in the DMax.

I would like to address some of the turbo setup too. It works, but I see issues with it. As is, it puts out 4psi, which I read can go as high as 10, but 8 is safe. The oil drain is 45* off center and they mangled the AC stuff to get it in there. Plus I want my AC back. Need a new housing, evap and dryer.

Biggest is where the turbo sits. It should fit forward more with the intake forward. I think the air filter is an issue too. Makes three 90* and then is really taped to the filter housing which looks like a DIY box that is cold air at least, 3in. Easiest fix here would be the Banks pass manifold, but they are $350. It would require a new downpipe (inside the frame at least!) and a crossover. I have looked the van and HMVV manifolds, but they just don't seem to work.

New air filter sitting on the pass fender is the way to go. Then I can get cold air from the window area or a snorkel. Research shows a 95+ gm truck filter setup may work. I am leaning towards that or a round HD tractor filter if I can find the right one.

The 6.2 is growing on me more and more, but it will never be a 6BT either.

Black Bear sounds like a solid tuner. Have a trip this weekend and will have to call him when I get back.

Are you doing a multi tune Don or just 1 tune?

I would think O2 content/transfer too, almost like COPD that my mom had. 95%+ at rest, down to 80 when she moved around but she smoked for 40 years.

My new system is 48v and 4000watts. Using an SMA inverter that also has 1500 watt AC when the grid is down. Installed system is 4000w also, with a SolarEdge inverter. It only operates when the grid is up (as most do) so what I don't use, I get credit (very small). It will pay for itself in another 6 years.

I agree on the 48 volt panels and prices have really come down. Half my panels are new, half are used (1-2 years) but the price reflected that. Backup batteries are easy to series, but you need a lot of capacity to runs things of grid and not kill them. 

My new system will supplement my old system and I will post the setup and both inverters when I do it. In a new thread of course. That will not be the new property, but that will get a combo of it all and maybe wind, we will see.

They have always been a mystery to me too, but learning. True with LU there should be no slippage and less heat. But depending on tune and the converter stall it could unlock a the slightest peddle pressure.

21-22 sounds high for a cruise RPM, should be under 2k with OD.
