5.56 Ban by BATF?

(1/1)

So what do we all make of the clandestine attempt to ban the "green tips" by BATF ?

Glad I've almost run through all of mine, but will make practice rounds more costly and/or light grain bullets the go to-

I have mixed emotions about M855

I think the real purpose is to find something, a chink in the armor of our shooting sport. M855 does have armor piercing ability to an extent, and therefore I suppose they have something.

On the battlefield, I have heard of very mixed results from the ammunition. In come cases it just makes too small a hole to be instantly lethal. You might recall me referencing a story of one of our guys having to shoot a Taliban 6 times to finally bring about the inevitable.

But the 75 grain stuff is prohibitively expensive so plinking with that ammo becomes a sport for the rich and famous and the rest of us go back to M193 and 55 grain bullet ammo.

Personally, I'm in with the fight to protest banning the ammo. Just a liberal attempt at control. And that is what it really appears to be about. However digging a bit deeper, I look on it as evil, which I believe is where liberalism seems to rest at night...

Solution in search of a problem.  No reported incidents of this ammo being used in the commission of a crime. It's about control.
