Welcome to the forum, group, crew, dysfunctional family.....  where are you at in Kentucky?  I’ll warn you up front, watch out for anything from anyone named Don. You can definitely trust information from the Dave’s. (Your Mileage May Vary)

Pre ranger leads me to believe he is a Don jr, as far as I know.

Welcome to the group and I second second Dave in saying all Dave’s are good Dave’s and anyone else who says otherwise is not a Dave won’t be a good Dave or any type of Dave.

Dave!

Welcome to the group

Well my interest in the U.S. Army Rangers has been with me my entire life and it all started with my dad holding me when I was born and saying “here I present to you Christopher Harward a future Army Ranger”. So since that time on I have had my focus on becoming apart of the best, and serving along side those men. So for my life I have been focusing on ways to better myself to further set me up for a career in the military, and to accomplish what I wish to accomplish.

As soon as he earns enough money to buy one!

Deal is I will throw in two bucks for every dollar he shows up with. His goal is to get a 07-14 Silverado 1500 4WD and his dad (me) do "the Don effect" on it

Note that he is not seeking the "Dave effect" so on my counsel and watchful eye he will be disregarding anything suggested by a dave...

Yea,

That gen 1 pop top wasn't the best thing I've ever put together

And the silver Canyon is probably leaving with his brother. He doesn't like little trucks

Welcome to the madness! Be careful what you say around here, your dad likes to fire people for the littlest infractions. BTW, I'm currently stationed at Benning. Let me know if you need any info, I might be able to acquire it. I'm not a Ranger, though. I'm a CDAT-WAT.

So, Don, what you're saying here is that the boy will be contributing 33% towards a project that will never leave the driveway? I'm thinking he needs to go back to economics class and brush up on successful investments. LOL!

I guarantee it will leave the driveway!
As for economics...too many football related head traumas...Which for some reason hasn't prevented him from almost straight "A's"
He is aiming for West point. He wears something west point like all the time...disappointing really, ;-)) but sadly, he also has no desire to fly. I told him the pilots get all the purdy girls, like his momma, but he is deaf to anything not in line with muddy boots, sore backs, loss of sleep, no food, and impossible tasks. Somewhat of a failure in my view, desiring infantry officer skills over flying something cool and staying clean, I suppose in the end I am forced to support him.

Kidding aside, he is one focused 10th grader who has wanted to be a Ranger since he could talk and is driven to get to west point. I asked him what his intentions were after the Army. He gave me a blank stare...Said, I'm never getting out, it's what I want to do...

Can't see a fault in his logic though Don. No flying but starting at West Point is up there pretty good.

I was (and still am) of the same mind. I have no idea what I'd do outside of Soldiering.
