So what number is that Dave #2?
15, or 16?

New nickname....Rabbit.
Wow, you’re trying to make me sound like some kinda weirdo. ;) This is only number 11.

He was born this morning at 7:15, 8 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long.  Both he and momma are doing good and are healthy.

I have the Sig P365 and really like it. I haven't shot 1000's of rounds through it but the few hundred I have it shot really well. The only FTF was my daughter limp wristing it but after she fixed that it was fine.

There was a lot of brew ha ha about the firing pin breaking or pin strike but that seems to have been remedied by Sig now.

It fits my average size hand fine and with the extended mag there is plenty of room for grip.

Nice thing is because it is so popular there are lots of options for holsters.

I have the Crossbreed minituck and you hardly know it is there.

https://www.crossbreedholsters.com/minituck-iwb-holster.html?gclid=CjwKCAiA98TxBRBtEiwAVRLqu0O4AJSSF5NcOdCF7JgvUVJ5aPlX_wmSEUgUEMDJEhSMsKW9UjiAeRoCg0cQAvD_BwE

I also have a neoprene ankle holster that it works well in and you can have a spare mag as well. You can wear all day with no real issues.

So you're going to strip the nice one and transfer to the hammered one? Hope you don't regret that decision bud. Either way, looking forward to the outcome.
Edit: nevermind. I'm having a problem with reading comprehension lately.

.Have to run to SHOT Show in Vegas for a few days but should be getting after it pretty heavy after next week.

Do you guys want me to start a new build thread or should I just continue this one? Not sure if I can change the title or not?

We have delivered the check for $550 to the Children's home.

I got to see the room where all the Amazon gifts from the list have been delivered and I was surprised at the volume of toys and things. I think they said they had 85 total boxes from Amazon delivered so far and ours is mixed in amongst the heap.

The cash was much needed to shore up things for some of the kids and they were very thankful for your generosity.

I was not allowed into the actual housing unit for the kids, but let me tell you, from what I saw they had a cool place to live. Just off the grounds of Devou park in Park Hills Kentucky is a repurposed mansion and a lesser house which dwarfs my rather large home. It is situated on a prominent hill overlooking downtown cincinnati and is partially bordered by a golf course. It is majestic and tranquill. Considering the circumstances by which the kids get placed there it seems to be a soft landing

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's gifting!
Great to hear. Merry Christmas

Phil,

Not sure if you follow this stuff but what I find amazing is that after hurling through space for 42 years it is still working and sending back data.

This was created when they had rooms full of computers that equal the computing power that we have on our wrist now.

I wonder if the stuff we are making today will have the same resilience.

Most RCS(Reaction Control Systems) thrusters are what is known as Biprop, a fuel and an oxidizer.  Typically for Fuel Hydrzine, MMH, N2H4 and then NTO Nitrogen Tetroxide, N2O4  so the Hydrizine and NTO are hypergolic (burn when come in contact) so in VERY basic terms you spray the two at one another into a chamber that burning mixture goes out thru a orifice and you make thrust.

The big brown cloud you see is the NTO, your life expectancy is pretty short after a couple breaths as the NTO breaks down to Nitric Acid in your lungs so you drown on your own fluids.  The hydrazine attacks the central nervous system it wont kill you right away but your days a numbered as long term exposure is what dose you in.  Your body cannot process the Hydzine so it just rides around in you system until it gives you cancer or some other problem.  I hate to think how many years i have shaved off my life!!!!
Yikes. Check. Stay away from NTO and Hydrazine.

How does that propellant differ from the SpaceX fuel?

This is what I sent my kids recently. Right on queue my daughter fact checked ZeroHedge and attempted to discredit ZH. I then fact checked her fact checker to show her the Bias they had and that rather than poo pooing ZH watch the videos in the article and learn something.

I did. I never knew Margaret Thatcher was the one that start the whole Global Warming narrative when she wanted to promote Nuclear Energy in the UK.

I have also always felt that the Sun and solar activity, volcanoes, the Ocean, Earth in General etc.. had much more of an effect on our Climate and it's changes than cow farts and humans.

Pollution is a whole different story.

Note to Kids:

Kids,

I have some home work for you! :)

With Greta in the news lately and the sham that continues to propagate I would like to insert some actual SCIENCE in the discussion.

I don't know how either of you feel about Climate Change but based on the total inundation in the education system it would be hard not to accept that Anthropogenic (man made) climate change is real. Hopefully this article and attached videos will help you dispel that given critical thinking and questioning the popular narrative.

Let's discuss after you have read and watched the videos.

There are two videos in this article that I would like for you to watch.

The first is "My Gift To Climate Alarmists". This video lays out the data manipulation that has occurred over the past 50 years that has been used to deceive the world .

The second is the "Global Warming Swindle". It is a long video but lays out in very fine detail the history of the Climate Change histrionics and where we are today.

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/global-warming-fraud-exposed-pictures

Focus on the SCIENCE presented on the SUN, OCEAN and then on the POLITICALIZATION of Climate change that started with Margaret Thatcher back in the 1990's when she was trying to push Nuclear Power.

Fast forward to today you can see based on the last 50 years that this has morphed into the Anti Capitalist movement it is today with the push towards SOCIALISM.

You and your kids do not want to live in a SOCIALISTIC society.

Food for thought.

Love you.

Dad

No there is not, WHERE they can break the sound barrier is controlled.  IE the Concord had to accelerate and decelerate out over the ocean so that all the little libs wouldn't complain about the noise(sonic boom), the big RULE that would be adventitious above 50K altitude there are no airways you have to fly, you can "go direct"

Then there is a whole bunch of OTHER rules that need to be taken into consideration.  One big requirement is maintaining the cabin on one engine, if you were to loose an engine at altitude and could not maintain cabin pressure you would have to drop altitude so you and the passengers could breath but when you drop altitude you burn lots more fuel.  and you need to make your alternate airport.  When the twin engine long haul jets came on the scene they were required to fly completely different routes than say a 747.  it was all to do with single engine performance.  Now that they have proven the new engines are pretty reliable the routes have been allowed to be modified.

But then there is physics, that number .9 Mach is what it s capable but they would almost never cruise there, fuel burn would be high.  but lets say a Business Jet could go supersonic and maintain that speed, it requires power and power requires fuel and lots of fuel if you want to go anywhere.  Also the compressability comes into play once you start going higher so you burn less fuel because the air is thinner you have to go faster to still create lift on the wings so you see its a compounding problem. (rockets dont have this problem)     THEN there is the issue what happens if you lose an engine while supersonic, with today modern flight computers it might be able to catch and compensate for the power loss.  the engines on most jets are far apart so it is a big issue when you are supersonic.

A good example is the B58 Hustler one of my favorite planes, its was capable of Mach 2.5ish and one day the Air Force lost one at altitude and while supersonic.  SO the theory was the plane lost and engine and the crew could not recover/react in time to save it.  SOOOOOO the Air Force in their infinite wisdom said lets see what will happen if we go supersonic and deliberately pull/reduce power on one of the engines, the result was you lose the plane and crew it came back in very small parts.  Not too long after that the B58 was retired from service.  A lot of that had to do with the engine spacing, look how far apart the engines are on that plane.

This is very undetailed flight dynamics Ii am speaking here!  This is much more in depth conservation, but when I say how far Gulfstrem has come, when I was active in that business the G2 had what was know as a wet footprint, if I was say flying to Hawaii and I lost an engine in a certain 200NM window I did not have enough fuel to turn around and go back and I could not make the island so I'm in the water (wet footprint), this was because I could not maintain altitude/cabin pressure on one engine so I had to drop down and dropping down burns lots more fuel.

The G2/3 series jet used a RR Spay engine that were total gas hogs, G2/3 didn't have fuel dump, all we had to do was drop down to 10-12K altitude and just push the throttles all the way up and just watch the fuel totalizer look like a slot machine.
Thanks for info Phil. It is always fascinating to me.

Well if it won’t go over Mach 1 I guess we will just stay with our Lear45 and CJ. Lol.

I should have picked aviation instead of trucking.

I had to inform our hired hand that he will be terminated at the end of the year. Not an easy thing to do. The guy has been a friend for a long time and hes kind of hit a rough patch anyway. But, It had to be done. I hired him so I had to be the one that let him go. He will have no problem finding another job. Literally everyone is hiring. The help wanted ads are 4 pages long in the local paper.

Jon, It is nice you are able to give him several months notice so he can look for a good job rather than taking whatever is available just to get a paycheck in the door. Hopefully that reduces the sting a little bit.

What are you my wife? it’s like her shoes. Spread over a year it’s only $20 a month.

Actually if you subtract the Laser level which I only paid $274 for it is a total of $256.31 total or $26.00 per light since I still have 30% of the wiring left.

I will use the laser on several different projects.

It is a really nice level. I bought an adapter and just put it on a cheap camera tripod.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Just looking at your shopping list and see the lights for $119 assumed that was each? Or miss reading something

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My bad. They are a 5 pack for $120.00. I bought two 5 packs so I spent $240 for the 10 lights.

I thought they were a 10 pack when I bought them for $120.00.

With the adjusted amount it is about $40 per light if you don’t count the laser level.

So do all the lights get fed from a single 12 v power source/transformer that feeds that junction box?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No. All of the lights feed off the single 110v switched block. The lights are two wire that go into a little box that must convert to 12v DC for the LED light. Very low amp draw for the amount of light.

When I wired the box I just grounded green to box and then wired red and black to corresponding block.
