Yep. It is already in the trash. I replaced the pump a couple of seasons ago. It was rode pretty hard by my next door neighbor gardener in NJ. He put many hours on it.
I kind like the HF ones with the predator engine. Seem to have good ratings. Similar with Honda is only $100 more on Amazon though so it might be worth sticking with Honda.

I will probably go back to what I had in a Honda. It honestly lasted a long time. And looking at the pics the valve stem on the intake must have broke that started the carnage. I thought it dropped from the keeper but the pic showed the keeper and stem still there. And yes it had oil..  I have never bought anything with an engine from HF. Just grinders and tool boxes. Stuff like that. Thanks for the feedback.

Have to go back to WORK to rest up after this past weekend. Spent Saturday on yard stuff and grading the potholes and whoops out of the driveway. Sunday the wife wanted to power wash so I interrupted the building of my shop hand tool racks and got the power washer out of mothballs. After I got it running the hose had de laminated as leaked so one hose down. Then had to root around the boxes in the garage to find the other hose. Then had to totally disassemble the fittings to get the hose off. After a half hour of that got the newish hose back on a fired up.
Wife went to power wash. After about 30 minutes she calls me and said the thing popped and was smoking. So back to mechanic mode and went to check it out. Looks like it had dropped a valve and then punched a hole in the head. Kaput!
I have never taken one apart so I thought I might be able to salvage it by buying a new head and valves and possibly piston. After taking it all the way down it splits diagonally below the piston and you have to pull everything out if the bottom. Because the valves are in the piston chamber you can't rotate it up enough to get the crankshaft out. Plus the entire top is a complete casting so you basically have to buy a new engine to repair this one. Nope.
In the trash it went. Will now need to buy a new power washer.
Then back to making 5' X 24" boxes with routed 1/4" slots in them every 3" for dividers. One made one to go. :)

It really depends on what you are going to use it for. From what it sounds like it will be mostly for work rather than play.
When we had the 660 Yamaha Rhino is was all work. 660 is probably the smallest I would go but it had plenty of power for what we used it for. The height of the dump bed was particularly nice because you could load it up high and then just dump it. If you pull a atv trailer they are pretty low and not sure how easy to dump.
The 660 was fast enough to get the daughter in trouble. She was driving the ditches and came in a little hot to the driveway and rolled it right on the gravel drive. Other than scaring the whoha out of Mom we just flipped it back over and she was no worse for wear other than some scratches. The seat belt and roll cage kept her safe. She was also a little slower after that.

I love kids like Baylee and Lexi. You hear so many stories about kids these days it is heartwarming when you see what is rarely ever reported. We still need a status report of how it all went! I'll bet they had fun. There are events in a kids life that tend to stick out and prom seems to be one of them. Ken--- I'm sure that kid is my wife's! LOL and as a side note. I am really grateful for the choices my kids have made relative to who their friends are and who they hang around. Takes a little worry out of events like this.

TRN I have an old Stihl Farmboss that I use and works great. I do have a couple different bars and chain combinations but rarely swap them. It is on the heavy side so I tend to cut everything horizontal and let the weight of the saw rest on the wood. I would have never thought of buying a cordless chainsaw for the light vertical stuff until I watched this video. If you already have the batteries for other tools it might make sense. I haven't gone that route yet so I would appreciate you spending your money and trying it out and letting us know. LOL https://youtu.be/1RwF5Gg5LFsPlus if one of your friends see's it in your tool shed you can just tell them it's for "your wife". :) Don't forget your life preserver if your heading out mowing.

Don, I'm glad there is some light there. Sad but true those that produce and do a great job tend to get the harder jobs and more responsibilities due to covering for those that don't. I see it all the time.
Life is too short to not look forward to getting up and doing what you for the day. If it is a short period of having to bust a## to accomplish a goal then that is fine. But if there is a never ending trend to more with no relief it is time for a change.

^^^ Definitely EFI. I had Yamaha 600 Rhino and it was hard to start if you didn't run it often. Also had a 90 Yamaha and that was a pain as well. (And yes.. the 90 was for the kids.. but I did overload it on occasion, stress testing and all)

Do the majority yourself and sub out what you don’t want to do. Maybe take a couple years to finish inside, what does it matter?
I never really thought about it, but the numbers flat out work. It is possible to sell this place and move down there and have a mortgage free brand new house on our 91 acres.
We are talking about it at the moment. I'm getting an idea of what kind of house she wants. We both agree that smaller and cozy and pass on the big house thing. Our current home is over 7,500 sq ft counting all spaces under a roof and is just way too friggin big. It is costly, and after paying for it, I'll have a country/neighborhood home in a plastic setting. Can't p_ss off the back deck, can't shoot, can't let the dogs run, have to mulch and keep up appearances, and I am just not so good with any of that
Down there life is real. If you don't make or build it you don't have it. Farm life is just the best. And with the income we enjoy and no mortgage or payments to speak of, it could really be nice.
I'll post up as we work down this decision trail, see where it leads.
Sounds like a fantastic plan. I can relate to the large house that is too friggen big. Especially when all the kids fly the coup. I have always lived and purchased property based on the school system and school environment. (Drugs, Libtards, etc.) What would you do with the pre rangers and school options? Football, wrestling..?

My favorite. Funny how your memory works. I used to build water towers all over the Midwest for Pittsburg DesMoines Steel company and every day at lunch time we would hustle down the ladders and listen to Paul Harvey. He is right about your imagination and the power it has.

Looks neat Dave. Power still out here. Running gen set. It’s about 65 degrees so no need for ac but I now know my 5000 watt gen set will run the ac lights and fridge in the casita. We will reproach there in power 0utages from now on. Plus with the propane on demand water heater we’ll be in good shape until I run out of fuel

I will speak from the very very small end of the spectrum. I have the Kubota BX25D with a FEL, Backhoe and mower deck. It is currently 7 years old and only has around 160 hours on it. Mostly plowing snow. It has a manual thumb for the BH that works great at picking up timbers, rocks, firewood trees, etc.. I have dug out some huge oak stumps but it takes forever. It has quite a bit of power for a tiny machine and works ok for around the house. It also has a 3pt PTO that I have never used. Much smaller than you need for sure but might fill a gap if you need something for tight spaces. Kubota has been solid.
Also I had a Yamaha Rhino 600 UTV for years that worked great. I sold it when I went to the Kubota. The dump bed was really handy for hauling and dumping yard waste. Up here in MN Polaris is king. UTA, ATV and Snowmobiles.
We can do a great job helping you spend your money!

If you make it up to WA and then come west to MN (I94 is the main drag West to East before you have to turn south to avoid the Great Lakes) and then over to WI to see Bobby and then south to see Cuda in Chicago you would drive right by me. I even have a couple extra bedrooms and hot and cold running water if you are tired of camping. :) I'll leave the light on for ya!
